Being better then average is attractive, independent of what it is. Hell, even with serial killers the freaks only flock to the worst ones. On a more positive note, that means being good at anything gives you a shot, but if it attracts the right crowd is another question.

in Meditations, it always stuck with me that Marc Aurel used being good as something that is natural. As in being good is following the natural way of things, tied back into the will of the gods. As in, a bee produces honey not because it is supposed to, or wants to, but because it is just what is doing. And what it naturally does is good. One shouldn’t work or build because you should or must, but because it is a natural part of you given to you by nature. Virtues maybe should be understood as …

Regarding labeled data, one could utilize the exisiting top reddit posts for that. I thought of using top rated questions and answers from askTRP for QnA type of tasks, and maybe some high quality posts for content generation which follow the formatting of [summary / tldr / head] and a [body/content], maybe together with flairs, keywords and titles. And also the other way around, should that help the model to learn the content. (Whoever introduced that format that back in the days, thank you!) A…

I must admit i am really new to application of llms and only have a bunch of book knowledge. And i trained everything locally, so bigger networks on the cloud is also a bit overhead for me right now. Maybe we could post updates somewhere under this post, describing what experiments we did, what worked and what didnt. I cannot really come on discord or such right now to talk in person. We would also need a dataset and it would be great if we also have labels or some evaluations we could use for r…

Very cool! I really currently struggle with the time management balancing having a relationship, building a career, socializing and doing stuff on my own. It is good to see realistic schedules like that. Thanks!

Cannot promise anything, but now i finally have an excuse to dive deep in this topic. Totally new to nlp, but i guess finetuning with lora and retrieval augmented generation could be good starting points to explore a smallscale proof of concept. No clue about deployment though. Meanwhile, it could be interesting to explore potential use cases, like personal mentoring, a shittest guru or something like that. And I am curious about potential solutions you guys come up with!

How do you implement that in an authentic way? I also deal with toxic people like op and as a young spineless red pill beginner, I thought about a similar „hard“ measures nobody can argue with

Do you have some kind of evidence on that?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
