Yup. I sacrificed to help her get the education and support to chase her dream. I did it because I believed in is and knew how far we could go. Turns out once it got turned around, she had what she needed. I believed in us going far but clearly she believed in herself going far. I'm ok and doing well financially and personally, but can't feel it put up so much for over ten years.

This is just dividing household responsibilities. It sounds like he does a lot for you and that's great. It seems like he is responsible and caring and not an aggro alpha, which is a lot closer to what the OP is talking about.

Advice which is generally good and works in most cases, is not advice which works with every person? Be confident is good advice for job seeking as well, but it doesn't mean if I apply for a nuclear physicist position I am going to get it.

Bringing this to the example above, if gasoline goes to $50 a gallon that has negative social effects and we use policy to change that. Stopping negative effects on society is more important than market dynamics What is the equivalent for dating? I don't see any appropriate or even feasible interventions on any level, policy, social, cultural, that would be justifiable.

You would have to be someone with no relationship experience to think that you would throw something meaningful in a second. If you have ever built a relationship for years with someone, shared values, and experienced a deeper experience of love then you would know this is not how humans work at all.

The world has always had a homeless or unemployable population. Also, what do these men think they will gain by not working? Hurting themselves is supposed to show everyone else?

First, back when I was dating I realized that a woman who didn't offer to split or pay for the next date would almost always not work out. My wife was direct about her values and wanting to split things. We are happily married, split all bills, and she is in a career where she will be making more than me soon. The way she acted and what she believed matched up. If they don't, then that is probably someone you don't want to date. Second, ss someone who lived in the South for a long time, and in a…
