When I asked for the email, he ended up doing me one better and giving me his phone number. You never know. And there’s a lot of value in having a couple hot dates, too, even if it never lands you in the bed. If you’re in the US, some states have protections for former student-former teacher relationships that kick in after a certain amount of time has passed, but I think there’s a general unspoken consensus of at least waiting a couple years before banging a former student. That being said, just because you’re dangling the cookie doesn’t mean he’s going to reach out and take a bite.
