I honestly didn't catch that. My mistake. I will try and find the 2001 one. Not saying the CDC is a bad source. My point is that most of the studies I've read - even the ones just referenced in this thread - state that 1. there needs to be more study, and that 2. violence rates are similar between the genders. However, this study does support this idea, and I would dare to say that this is enough to assert the instigator bias towards the female partner.
