From what I’ve heard from folks, the most common way this happens is that they get ghosted or dumped by a guy after sex, when they thought they were “getting into” a relationship. That or they realize shortly afterwards that they don’t like the guy’s personality, etc. While women do sometimes just want a summer fling or whatever, even that is basically a “short term” relationship. There are individual differences, but completely random hookups are generally less appealing

In my experience, attractiveness does not work like a binary thing. I know you want to isolate this to physical attractiveness, but most women don’t treat even that as a purely aesthetic thing.

This is like horseshoe theory for 1) game theory absolutists who have become completely ungrounded from reality and 2) closeted “eggs” who are unable to rationalize the creeping sense of gender dysphoria with the misogyny they’ve absorbed from redpill creators, culture, etc.

Exactly. More men should listen to what women say they want! This isn’t hard… at least, not harder than relationships are already hard. Thanks, er… u/daddyslittlefuckslut

After looking at the Pew methodology page, the margin of error could account for this difference (2% up for men/2% down for women). The response rate was 84%, so there may be a self-selection effects to remember here, too. Also, this jibes with other research overall. 1/5 of women identify as bisexual… even among women who often date men, a lot of women who are single are also not dating men! Also, 50% of single women are over the age of 65, while 50% of single men are under the age of 18. A lot…

A lot of this is just a bigger increase in loneliness tied to the atomization of Western society, a decline in localized human relationships, and an aging population. People spend more time online (or watching TV or gaming) and less time with the people who live near them, interacting IRL. Lots of social structures (local clubs, civic organizations, even churches, etc.) are in decline and get less interest from younger people. Families are smaller, so you are more lonely by default, because you …

I think there’s a kind of intermediate step (I won’t call it “courting” but that’s evocative of the idea) where you and the other person kind of feel each other out. You see if you both like talking, see if your personalities vibe, etc. This obviously takes on lots of different forms, but often is just a function of seeing if you like being around each other. Honestly, if you’re both choosing to be in the same space and do things together, then who’s to say who really “initiated” dating if you m…

I don’t even know where to begin, man. Red pill is a dumb approach to dating, but not sure how that conflates with… energy costs? Inflation? “Rainbow flag people” lol… you do you. It sounds like you’re just angry and bitter, not really interested in having a conversation or even dating, really.

The majority of women usually find feminine looking men to be more attractive, all other things being equal. Certainly true of feminine facial features.

Internet + selection bias. What you see online is generally not a representative representation of the real world.

Yeah, there are many well-known studies on this. I was forced to help my sister on one of her papers about this when I was a psych undergrad, lol. Just ignore the pseudoscientific mra crap, you’re more than fine if you have feminine facial features. Here’s the first example I found after two seconds on Google

I mean, you do you, right? But I sounds like you ah e a lot of self-hate to get over. The truth is that the things there is no unitary law of attraction that specifies who will find who attractive. In fact (hate to say it) you may benefit from a better understanding of what “selection” actually entails, when it comes to mating. I mean, using the term “degenerate” implies some weird, moralistic belief that you’re trying to shoehorn into some vague understanding of an animal/human behavior model.

I know two dudes that both are very short (like 5’1” or so) and married taller, hot women. The shorter of the two guys married someone who was like 5’11” or close to that.

This is kind of not what I’ve seen. I know several dudes who are shorter than the (very hot) women they married. I know this sounds like pretty basic advice, but idk your age or whatever, so I’ll share this: being comfortable with yourself is the first step to being comfortable socializing around others. The more you fixate on your height, it’ll become like a mental block that you think about during other interactions. If you don’t care about your height, most other people won’t either.

Yeah, it’s that, plus the “bad boys” that are top of mind for you might be 1) exceptions to the general rule (out of ten, one is particularly attractive or whatever), 2) lying about their body counts in the first place. I find 2) is pretty common, lol, and as you get older you realize that bad sex with a greater number of strangers isn’t actually something that is worth aspiring to.

Some people just have an affinity for all kinds of online radicalization, maybe? Edit: Nothing against Islam or Muslims (I have several Muslim friends). I just know some of the weird “convert a heathen online” dynamic kind of oddly reminds me of how some people got into online PUA “culture.”

Yeah, 100% agree. Being able to own your own mistakes is a key sign of maturity & showing you can change. I’d argue that any sort of jargon just shouldn’t be used in normal human conversation, lol, so I wouldn’t use the word “deprogramming,” but the overall point is well-taken.

As a psyche major, can confirm. Redpill stuff is just bad pop psychology + multilevel marketing. When you believe the redpill stuff, you’re super confident b/c you think you have this view of the world that explains everything, but like all cults, the reality is that you’re just somebody else’s sucker. I think the first thing to do is stop reading redpill stuff online. It’s dumb, and if you keep consuming it, your confirmation bias is obviously going to keep you from seeing the world differently…

He doesn’t tell you how weird and lonely you’ll feel after hitting on 149,999 strangers, though.

He’s advocating for idiocy in the marketplace of ideas. People who think they can self-treat STIs has got to be a contributing factor to how STIs spread.

Therapy is good! Also, be prepared to get upset and feel vulnerable once you share your real feelings. Vulnerability is a sign of intimacy. In my experience, vulnerability and sharing your feelings are super attractive to most women (or at least, the ones who are interested in a long-term relationship). I think you just have to try it out and see what you learn from it. Also, it’s normal for people to misunderstand how you feel at first or for how you feel to change after talking through your fe…

FWIW my wife fully intended for me to be a one night stand. That was 15 years ago.

FWIW, fights like this are a pretty normal part of many relationships. There are lots of differences between folks and YMMV based on your relationship with your gf vs. my experiences. My best advice: Feeing bad and wanting to make things right is normal and the right things to do. This sounds like any one of the ~100 of the fights/arguments I have had with my exes or my wife. You are doing the best you can, and try to talk about the what happened without going negative or letting your feelings (…
