Not sure about Russia but I am from a different part of Eastern Europe. My parents are a perfect example for a good relationship. My farther has all the good traits of alfa and beta mix. He has a good stable job, provides for the family, he is good with his hands, he even buit our/their house with the help of my grand father. He has his own hobbies like hunting, playing sports etc but also spends time with my mom, they go on dates, travel. When growing up, he wasn't involved much in the parentin…

Be happy he told you so early, so you can decide what you want. My husband told me after almost 3years married (you can check my post in my history).

From my experience, have a real conversation on how you both feel about having kids. Also, confirm he agrees with everything else that is important to you.

I apologize for the misunderstanding but these few months are not a time frame for convincin, but for him to think about it, as he asked me to. It wasn't my ultimatum but his request for more time to think. It is not my place to convince him, it is his decision to make. As he doesn't have the right to convince me to not have kids, because it will turn into anger eventually, as you said in the reverse case.

Oh no, not at all. Sorry if it sounded that way. I am just trying to see yours and other people's point of view. Because sometimes what to your brain "makes sens" has nothing to do with other people's logics. I wouldn't ask for help at the first place if I was going to feel somehow confronted. I cannot explain how much I appreciate the time you and other people have put into trying to help. Because it is one of those situations where it is hard to determine right from wrong.

I see your point of view. I enjoy taking care of people I love, for me it just comes naturally, especially taking care of my husband. I am trying to find the right words on how I see myself as a parent and what I ment by making the kids priority. For some reason it is hard to explain because for me it comes naturally (as if that's how things are supposed to be). I'll try to give an example. Newborn baby and a husband, both hungry. I will not make microwave dinner for the husband just because the…

Oh wow, thanks for your point of view. I'm not being confrontational but wouldn't you want us (women) to prioritize the kids? I'm just trying to understand the mens point of view. Because I thought it will be OK since it is your kid as well and kids need more attention since they can not take care of themselves. If would like to explain more, what do you expect of her once you have kids? How would you like her to approach to the situation, so that you don't feel like #2?

When we talk about this we don't argue. We are not mad at each other about our opinions but rather find out what do we want in life. I told him he doesn't own me anything and I am not going to guilt him into it or any other tricks like it. Because when I have kids, I want to have them with person who genuinely wants them as well. So it is not in my favour to try to convince him just so that he will say yes for a moment, and than be obligated or trapped his whole life. You made good points about …

It is about having them at all. I don't beleive I am the issue. But that doesn't mean of we separate, he won't end up having kids later on, maybe in his late 30s or 40s

Thank you, that seems reasonable. I will give him few more months and see how things go. Regarding my parents, they think that this is how things happen in western culture. We come from a different culture backgrounds and we have different race, so that was their comment. In my cuture, you marry, you are very traditional wife, most likely stay at home mone to two or three kids and the husband provides for his family. You most likely do everything together with your spouse , vacations, visits to …

Thank you for being honest. I know it is irrelevant right now (because he doesn't feel the same) , but we would actually talk about having kids in future, he even had names for them, we talked about how many kids we want etc. So it wasn't like we didn't covered the subject at all before of during the marriage. But as someone else comented, it all went from "not right now" to "possibly never". I do appreciate the time you and other people spend, because I think you can form an unbias opinion. As …

Your opinion actually makes a lot of sense. And biologically we want to reproduce with our partners rather than just mate for life. You're right about the counselling as well, hopefully someone else will read this and learn from my mistake.

Yes, I agree 100%. Every child should have happy parents that love him/her.

I guess I would still take care of him but the kid/s will be priority. That is one thing that will change for sure. What will not change is I will still want to travel as we always have. I'm not asking him to make a sacrifice, I just wishes he was/is on a same page with me. I even told him, he doesn't own me anything and I will rather know now that he doesn't want kids, than after we have them. About trusting, he doesn't have any reasont not to. I am not perfect as a person, but I can say I am a…

Thank you so much for the advice and beautiful words. I live in apartment building but I can get some pots and flowers for inside the apartment. It is great to know someone understands how I feel as a woman. My mother said the same thing that there is nothing more beautiful than being a mom.

Unfortunately that's the sad reality. And my parents are telling me to leave him right away. They say he should have valued me and be proud to have kids with me. But I don't hate him for it or anything, I am just sad and I wish there would have been an option for compromise, but it all comes to either him possibly wanting kids of a divorce. If he decide to have kids I will always have the doubt that he did it just to stay with me not because he genuinely wants to.

Sorry about the confusion. When we met we were talking about "when we have kids, they will look like this..." we would pick names and etc. I tought he wants to have kids. Not untill recently when he told me he actually is not sure if he wants to have any at all. He says he knows I would be a great mother but he doesn't know if he wants to" give up on his life and have kids"(as he says). So since I choose to have kids, he said he will make up his mind by the end of the summer. That way, he will n…

Yes we did. But we were both on the same page about not being ready at the time, or the next few years. He thinks that every man goes through this phase about having kids (that was the main reason why I wanted to ask the males at the first place). I always thought you either want kids or you don't.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
