A case study on gyncentrismAh, the true face of the MRM comes out. You all sure like to talk about how other people are easily offended, but I can't help but notice that you yourselves are set off by the littlest thing. I guess I should have included a trigger warning that opposing viewpoints would be present in my posts. Firstly, you have not proven that the right to vote is linked to the draft. At BEST you have proven that 18-21 women got the right to vote for nothing. Of course, in the UK, the example of which you keep… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 16/04/16 04:46 PM
A case study on gyncentrismA similar thing happened in the United States in the 1960s, where the voting age was lowered from 21 to 18, to ensure that the 18 year-old young men being drafted to fight and die in Vietnam, had the right to vote for leaders with the power to send them to war. Naturally, 18 year-old women also got the vote on the back of this. But you realize this does not in any way mean that the right to vote is linked to the draft, right? The fact that the draft was one of the motivations to change the age a… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 15/04/16 04:36 AM
What are the benefits and drawbacks of being male vs female in western culturesNo, the point is it has nothing to do with women. There are all kinds of things women do with their agency, but the point is that almost all of the supposed benefits to being a woman that OP listed were not anything that had any bearing on that agency. It's all just related to how men view them. The fact that those things are what came to OPs mind when he thought about the benefits of being a woman should be evidence that women can't just "exercise their agency" and magically end sexism. It has … | /r/PurplePillDebate | 14/04/16 04:59 PM

A case study on gyncentrismI think I can address substantially all your points at once; so, in the interest of brevity I'm going to try to do so, other than to address specifically one particularly dubious claim about voting and the draft at the end. If there's anything else you think merits individual attention, let me know. Anyway, it's uncontroversial and, probably, incontrovertible that society operates on a double standard: it views and consequently treats men and women differently. I hope that it will also be uncont… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 13/04/16 02:53 AM
What are the benefits and drawbacks of being male vs female in western culturesI'd say the chances are about the same. I fully dispute this. I guess I can't speak for wherever you are, but here in NYC you're many times more likely to see a scantily-clad woman in advertising than a scantily-clad man. Women however have lots of media that says 'this is what a real woman looks like', 'youre beautiful just the way you are' etc. men dont. Is this something men are demanding though? These "body positive" ads seem to be in response to outcry among women about the standards ads ar… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/04/16 09:06 PM
What are the benefits and drawbacks of being male vs female in western culturesCan you really call it addressed? If you were walking down the street, do you think you would be more likely to see an unrealistic, idealized male form (say, on a billboard) than a similar female form? I don't mean any disrespect, but I find that idea a little kooky. Further, do you really think fat acceptance is some kind of ploy to lower men's standards? Aren't you marginalizing men who legitimately like heavier women? Given the fact that most women are interested in being attractive to men (i… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/04/16 08:23 PM
What are the benefits and drawbacks of being male vs female in western culturesI don't think that's really true. Biologically, it makes sense for men to desire sex more often, but it doesn't at all follow that it makes any biological sense for women to be disinterested in men relative to men's interest in them. If women weren't interested in men, we'd have no offspring just the same as if men weren't interested in women. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/04/16 07:02 PM
What are the benefits and drawbacks of being male vs female in western culturesBut aren't we bombarded with unrealistic-looking women? I don't think very many women are confused about what the typical man looks like, any more than we are confused about the fact that most women aren't bikini models. In fact, from my own lived experience, I think women seem more likely to date down attractiveness-wise than men are. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/04/16 07:00 PM
A prominent TRPer just called most redpillers here "autistic spergs". Your thoughts? That's definitely not wrong. I don't mean to endorse casting aspersions on his choice of career, if that's indeed what he wants to do. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/04/16 06:58 PM
A case study on gyncentrismIn the West, men and society have bent over backwards trying to give feminists what they have asked for... That position simply isn't supportable from the historical record. Women's demands, just or no, have often been met with vehement resistance. If men have always been "bending over backwards" to give women what they want, why did the Women's Suffrage movement need to exist for over half a century before women got the right to vote? This simply isn't a tenable position. [M]en are valued for t… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/04/16 06:13 PM
What are the benefits and drawbacks of being male vs female in western culturesYeah, the wage gap is a weird thing. It looks a lot bigger when you aren't accounting for the variables you mention. Of course, even controlling for those variables, men still get paid more than women within many fields (e.g., computer programmers ). Also, I think it's fair to say that a lot of dangerous and/or lucrative jobs are seen as "male" professions, which does deter a lot of women from entering and therefore brings those fields back into the equation. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/04/16 04:55 PM
What are the benefits and drawbacks of being male vs female in western culturesI'm not advocating for men to change everything they do, or even anything they do. But if men like women way more than women like men, it may be that men have an unrealistic attitude towards women. The simple solution is for men to come back down to Earth, not for women to reciprocate with an unrealistic attitude towards men. I don't think women who don't feel as strongly about a man as he does for her are trying to tell him he's a shit person and deserves to be an outcast. I think men sometimes… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/04/16 04:51 PM
Women who offer rejected men "friendship" don't really want to be friends.Well, I'm sorry that you've had such a difficult experience, but if you're so abhorrent that people will only tolerate you to try and get you to go away, I don't think your experience is typical enough to draw conclusions about women's typical conduct from it. That being said, I hope you don't think anything other than your actions or attitude can make you "social poison." | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/04/16 04:45 PM
A prominent TRPer just called most redpillers here "autistic spergs". Your thoughts? No, I think you're misunderstanding me. I said that convincing people over the internet is not the purpose of this sub. But the guy OP is talking about seems to place a lot of importance on convincing people over the internet, since it seems he's calling the TRPers here "spergs" because they suck at "selling" RP ideology to others. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/04/16 04:39 PM
What are the benefits and drawbacks of being male vs female in western culturesI think you're right that men seem to "like" women more than women like men, but why is the onus on women to like men more? Why isn't the onus on men to have a more realistic attitude towards women? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/04/16 04:36 PM
A prominent TRPer just called most redpillers here "autistic spergs". Your thoughts?Being a personal trainer is actually a pretty kickass job, but I don't know that someone with the overwhelming force of personality this prominent TRPer seems to claim wouldn't be doing something more prestigious or lucrative? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/04/16 04:35 PM
A prominent TRPer just called most redpillers here "autistic spergs". Your thoughts? If he's so good at convincing people to be RP, why isn't he here doing so right now? He's clearly full of shit. It sounds mostly like he's attempting to disassociate "true" RP from the RPers here because he's not satisfied with the lack of people jumping ship on BP and becoming RP. But that's 100% not the purpose of this sub. If you are an RPer who is here because you recognize that an unchallenged belief is not one you can or should be sure about, then you're here for the right reasons and don'… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/04/16 04:15 AM
What are the benefits and drawbacks of being male vs female in western culturesOn a possibly related point, a lot of the advantages you've listed for women are primarily the result of the way men perceive them. For example, you note that women can capitalize off their sex, are not subject to as much pressure to be financially successful, are on average more sexually desirable, and are treated more leniently by the criminal justice system. All of these can be attributed to male attitudes towards women, and all of them are of dubious benefit to a lot of women due to the nega… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/04/16 04:10 AM
Men's Problems will Never be Taken SeriouslyYes, definitely. Further to your point, trying to explain away complicated issues like male suicide rates as a result of "gynocracy" (not that anyone in particular has ever used this specific example) trivializes the issue and distracts from the men that, presumably, are the real focus of the issue. I think there really ought to be a true men's movement. In addition to all of its other kookiness, the "Men's Rights" movement stumbles out of the gate by framing men's issues as a result of (presuma… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/04/16 03:56 AM
Women who offer rejected men "friendship" don't really want to be friends. If I may ask, what stopped you from just having a reciprocal friendship like you have with men? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/04/16 03:50 AM
Women who offer rejected men "friendship" don't really want to be friends. If the friendship already existed due to external factors, then she might genuinely care... What, in your mind, makes this the less likely alternative? We're assuming that she rejected him because she doesn't want to be his girlfriend and/or FWB. But I think we're also assuming that they have some other relationship outside of that. Why would it be unlikely that she wants to maintain their previous relationship? Your link shows the general red pill affinity for weird buzzwords, which in this con… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 11/04/16 09:44 PM
A case study on gyncentrismYou say women's pain is cared about more than men's pain. I agree. But why do you suppose that is? Is it, as you seem to be implying, that society inherently values women more? I think there's a shocking lack of evidence for that proposition in the historical record. As some MRAs are wont to point out, most of the politicians, philosophers, generals, writers, poets, scientists, religious leaders, etc. that have had a large impact on Western culture have been men. Why then would the society large… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 11/04/16 09:12 PM
Men's Problems will Never be Taken SeriouslyIn my opinion, the reason that men's issues are not taken seriously is that they are most often unflatteringly juxtaposed next to women's issues by their own proponents. I agree that a cohesive group is necessary in order to further progress on men's issues, but it appears that, currently, the only cohesive groups advancing men's issues in the public sphere are not doing so in good faith. Instead, they seem to be trying to use the existence of men's issues as a denial of, or an attempt to margin… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 11/04/16 08:58 PM
