Guy here, one of the best initiations I had recently between a girl (who I knew was into me) went a little like this... We were sitting at the kitchen table drinking a bit, and we kept purposefully ruffling each other's feathers in conversation e.g. playing devil's advocate, arguing our points, a fun but respectful conversation. When we got to a point of "major" disagreement I leaned in a bit and said something snarky, she leaned in a bit and did the same, and I just went in for the kiss right t…

If you read my other response, the parallels between spreading herpes and spreading the flu that I make do have a valid point to them. People don't go out into public intending to ACTIVELY spread the flu, just like the people in the other thread aren't talking about trying to give EVERYBODY herpes. He overreacted to a few choice comments that didn't capture the overall sentiment of the thread, and decided to make a new thread bashing them based purely on his emotions. There is rarely a time wher…

So you know every surface you touch during flu season is clean? You can look at a person and know that they have the flu? By god, we need to sit people like you in hospitals to determine sterile surfaces and carriers of influenza. You could save millions of lives. ಠ_ಠ

If you're going to engage in a one night stand, you better be protecting yourself and asking him/her the appropriate questions. If you get lied to, well, that's oustide of the scope of this issue. If you're waiting to have sex with a girl you are dating, same thing. By not asking other people if they have any STI's, it is YOU that becomes the irresponsible partner.

Yeah, one of those things kills thousands per year, and the other produces a rash a couple times per year. Look, I'm not saying that people with herpes should be going around, bumping uglies with no protection or forewarning. But half of reddit seems to want to send them off to an island for quarantine. Herpes is something that you should worry about, I know I wouldn't be happy to contract it. But if he wants to say that they're running around "actively" spreading herpes by having sex with peopl…

I thought of this one night when I was drunk. Almost got slapped several times. "I think I've met you before, but I was way drunker, and you were WAY hotter"

Personally, I would suggest total disclosure. I'm going to be totally honest, even for my one-nighters during my first few attempted f-closes after this relationship. I will adjust my results from there. If I'm getting rejected on this one issue repeatedly then I may just throw up my hands and say "fuck it". Doesn't seem like you read the whole thing. Here's the important part.

Guys, let me tell you something. Until there is a cure for the flu, it is a BIG FUCKING DEAL and it is unfair to everyone if you actively take a role in spreading it.

Good advice on the invite everyone bit, especially since this is the weekend of the fourth you can expect that a LOT of people have other plans (assuming OP is from the US). So go crazy on inviting people and expect about half to show up, many people will arrive and stay for a little while, but you'll have good numbers doing it this way.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
