Should I[m16] quit my job or let my single mom continue stealing money from me?You could ... lie. You could tell them that it's your dad who is stealing your money. They aren't going to have the details of your family life. Any way, good luck! | /r/MGTOW | 02/02/21 04:12 PM
Should I[m16] quit my job or let my single mom continue stealing money from me?I had another idea. If you can contact a group that helps homeless youth, they might know how to get a bank account when you're under 18. I found one listing that looked hopeful. Maybe give these guys a call to ask for help: The Youth Information Point (Jongeren Informatie Punt): The Youth Information Point (Jongeren Informatie Punt) provides information and advice about work, school, drugs, money, homelessness and housing, addiction, family problems, sex, etc., to young people (up to 25 years).… | /r/MGTOW | 02/02/21 01:56 PM
Should I[m16] quit my job or let my single mom continue stealing money from me?Your mother sound frankly unhinged. I can't imagine how awful it is to live with someone who steals from you like this. Do you have Santander bank there? I think they might let you open an account under 18. What if you opened a new bank account with your step dad, and had your paycheck go there? It sounds like you trust him more, and this would at least stop the automatic process that is grabbing half your earnings. | /r/MGTOW | 01/02/21 10:19 PM
Should I[m16] quit my job or let my single mom continue stealing money from me?I agree that the mom has no business taking the money. It does seem likely that OP could earn as well or better interest in his own account. (Although, to play devil's advocate, it might do even better if wisely invested in the stock market). But, yeah, given what OP has said, it does not sound like the money is being saved in any way. It may well be that OP's money is the difference between the family affording to pay the utilities or the rent. There are certainly families for whom that is true… | /r/MGTOW | 01/02/21 07:46 PM
Should I[m16] quit my job or let my single mom continue stealing money from me?You are right, of course, that this is a profoundly unfair situation, and awful for you. The only person who can really answer your question is your mom, and it sounds like she's being very dishonest with you already. | /r/MGTOW | 01/02/21 07:27 PM
Should I[m16] quit my job or let my single mom continue stealing money from me?How is she a single mom and you have a step-dad? You're using one of those terms in a way that doesn't make sense to me. It sounds like she's lying to you about why she's taking the money. There do exist parents who literally can't pay the bills without their teen children contributing. But, even if that were the case in your family, your contribution should be discussed honestly, instead of your mom just removing it from your bank account. It doesn't sound like your mom would be responsive to a… | /r/MGTOW | 01/02/21 07:25 PM
