Allowing yourself to be completely dependent on another person is an incredibly risky proposition. That's what's driving the concern. Best case scenario, a single earner makes enough money for a comfortable life, you get to spend time with your kids, and you retire in comfort. Worst case scenario, your partner divorces you or dies and you're left to provide for a family with scant work experience/education.

People constantly behave in suboptimal ways. Smoking, drinking, eating too much junk food, not getting enough exercise, not socializing. Unless some external force was implemented, I can't really see it moving the needle too much. Most tradwife content is already pushing the narrative that SAHMs are happier and more fulfilled, and young women as a whole don't appear to be buying it.

Carrying a pregnancy inherently puts a person's health at risk; that's not the case with being given a dog pup. Some (most) would argue a person shouldn't be forced by the government to sustain another person at risk to their own health/life.

I had a life threatening issue that resulted in a termination during my first (very much wanted) pregnancy. Fortunately for me, I had three maternal fetal medicine specialists making the recommendation and not a red piller talking out of his ass about something he clearly doesn't understand. If you'd like a list of conditions that may result in a medical recommendation for termination, please let me know. Aggressively misinformed and confident is an unfortunate combination.

I think more men should openly talk about women expiring/being past their prime after 25 so women know who they should avoid for long term partnership. It's a wonderful filtering mechanism.

Despite the increased financial burdens a woman may put on a man, as you put it, men are still choosing to remarry at three times the rate of women in the event of an untimely death of a partner. That indicates that any potential financial strain is much less of a deterrent to partnership for men than the added domestic strain is for women. If what men brought to marriage was, on average, as life enhancing as what women brought to marriage, women would be seeking it out again after experiencing …

It's more because domestic labor increases substantially for women when they have husbands. They value the minimal domestic burden that being single brings.

All of the widows I know remained unmarried, even if their spouses died decades earlier. Most widowers are/were in new relationships within a couple of years. This study is a bit outdated, but: "By 25 months after the spouse's death 61% of men and 19% of women were either remarried or involved in a new romance. Women expressed more negative feelings about forming new romantic relationships." https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8807029/ There's a good amount of evidence that suggests women are more c…

I said the common recommendation was to teach your child to seek out a mother if they're lost. You called me a sexist despite that being the perspective of a child safety expert. Gavin DeBecker claims a mother is preferred not only for the lower risk of predation but also the increased likelihood of her ensuring the child gets to safety. "GO TO A MOM. Instead of teaching kids to find a police officer, security guard or salesperson if they’re lost and scared, instruct them to find a mom, which ge…

These stats are just incorrect, at least in the United States. Filicide occurs about 500 times a year and here's what we know about offenders: "Among offenders, while fathers were about equally likely to kill an infant, they were more likely to be the alleged murderer of children older than a year, especially when the children were adults (fathers were the offenders in 78.3 percent of those cases). Overall, fathers were the accused murderer 57.4 percent of the time." So 500× 43.6 murder proprtio…

The military is a great example underscoring OPs point. Women who voluntarily serve in the military experience extraordinary levels of sexual violence from their own countrymen. That doesn't seem very protective to me.

Take it up with the male security experts giving the same advice then. You want to roll those dice with a stranger, go for it. To add some relevant reading material: "Our study examines the prior offending of 750 individuals who are known to be responsible for the abduction of a child under the age of 18 years. The first group comprised of 311 offenders (42%) who had abducted a child that was later located alive (found alive, referred to as FA). The second group was comprised of 439 offenders (5…

Gavin DeBecker is an American security specialist (and author of The Gift of Fear) and directly gives that advice: https://time.com/archive/6666916/the-new-safety-rules-for-kids/ "GO TO A MOM. Instead of teaching kids to find a police officer, security guard or salesperson if they’re lost and scared, instruct them to find a mom, which generally means someone with a stroller or a child in tow. Every developed country besides the United States has some form of universal healthcare, and the United States has horrible health metrics compared to a lot of those other developed nations. Why settle for such an expensive and mediocre option? Seems illogical not to try to do better.

Women married to men their same age live longer, report higher satisfaction, and experience lower rates of divorce than those who marry older men (especially significantly older). Further, same age couples tend to have higher household incomes than age gap couples. Further, you need to worry about staggered retirements, being thrust into a premature caregiving role, and early widowhood. And that's not even addressing the point that women tend to find men the same age most attractive.

Working nets you an income which provides you food, shelter, and hopefully opportunities for recreation and preparation for retirement. Your job is easy and still provides you those things. People having children provides a benefit to society, but in the United States there are almost no individual incentives to continue to do so for women. It is a culture hostile to mothers and to children-hyperindividualistic and aggressively negative about children existing in public places with a weak social…

Men produce more collagen, which will help with wrinkles for a time, but excessive exposure to UV rays is going to take its toll in terms of both aging and skin cancer. Men are considerably more likely to develop and die from skin cancer than women are.

I fully disagree. Both of my parents worked full time, but my dad went above and beyond to help around the house and care for his kids. I never saw him as less masculine for having done so, and neither did anyone else. I watched the guy I eventually married clean his entire apartment after throwing ragers with his suitemates in college. It has worked out wonderfully. For women, the optimal strategy appears to be marrying someone as close to your own age as possible (See Figure 4) . Marrying much younger or much older increases your relative risk of mortality. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3000022/ This is an anecdote but my ancestor was a fille du roi (woman who traveled from France to Quebec to help expand the new colonies). I'm with you. I fail to see how it's a problem that men who take interest in things women like find romantic success. Further, it's not "performative" for a lot of them- humans are varied and have different interests.

If you were a woman, do you think you'd have a better time with a man who reads feminist literature (even performatively, as you postulate) or a man who believes all women are children, western women are worthless and obsesses about body counts? Dating is all about optimizing outcomes for yourself. Given the ubiquity of manosphere content and the relatively recent trend of young men failing to form meaningful romantic relationships with women, I'm not going to begrudge "performative" males for t…

I don't think anyone would disagree with you that a being a pushover is an unattractive trait, but liking books and music made by women doesn't make you a pushover. A confident man who isn't obsessed with being perceived as masculine enough is incredibly attractive. Look at Cillian Murphy as a celebrity example-he's quiet, he likes to read, he's attended protests for women's rights in Ireland, he's dressed in drag for movies and he's still a celebrity crush for a lot of women.

I don't accept the OPs premise that liking things women typically like means you're a pushover who is going to end up in a bad relationship. A lot of men genuinely enjoy reading/listening to music made by female artists/drinking matcha (and a lot of those men have traditionally male interests, too). I'm a Millennial who was friends with a lot of the skinny jeans/nail polish-wearing men mentioned as the previous version of the "performative male." Estimates suggest one third to one half of women experience sexual assault at the hands of men. Should we write all of you off as bad actors? I'd argue it's good practice to, at a minimum, avoid men who post misogynistic content online. You can do the same with people who used the Tea app, if that suits you.

Men on this subreddit seem uniquely allergic to accountability. A woman's leading risk of death during pregnancy in the United States is homicide at the hands of their intimate partner. Every woman you know has been sexually harassed, and I'd wager a bet most have been sexual assaulted. "Not all men"TM but enough that a woman should be extremely selective in who she dates, and men who openly espouse misogyny should be disqualified outright.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/25 12:37 PM

Calling out shitty behavior isn't starting a hate group. Men en masse are online calling women mid, ran through, 304s, expired, and then they're crying that women don't want to be with them. A woman's highest risk of violence comes from her partner- it's wise to avoid misogynists to minimize that risk. Women aren't killing men when they get angry. The big threat to men was "divorce rape," but now women don't want to marry most men anyway, so problem solved.

A man who votes for universal healthcare, strengthening of global alliances, and supporting environmental conservation does not equate to a "man who wears dresses." Trump supporters voted for a draft dodger who was held liable for sexual assault, bankrupted multiple casinos, defrauded his charity, and rambles on TruthSocial like a doddering old man. Yep, and kids are generally told to seek out women if they need help, not men. Also, men here all the time say how they are under no obligation to help women. Duly noted, but don't turn around and try to pretend to be heroes. Some men absolutely are, but none who have that mentality.

Divorce rates are also the lowest they've ever been, and married men live longer, make more money, and report higher happiness levels than divorced men or single men. Divorce is a nightmare for anyone who goes through it (from what I've observed), but marriage is a great boon if one manages to find a good partner. Women are amping up their hostilities because Roe v Wade was overturned. No, it's not the same men. Men who think "DEI hires" are the reason they aren't succeeding when billionaires are literally siphoning up all the excess wealth as fast they can manage are too dumb to be reasoned with. It's a billionaire-funded talking point to keep the working class at each other's throats. I have a lot of compassion for men who feel frustrated they aren't reaching the life milestones their parents and grandparents. I agree a lot of messaging geared toward men boils down to "Your …

If it's men complaining about DEI, I honestly couldn't care less about pulling those votes. If it's speaking to younger men who feel they don't have a future to look forward to, I think there would be merit in engaging with that audience directly.

Yep, my husband begrudgingly voted for Kamala, but he is pretty left-wing, so most of his votes on the Presidential level have been begrudging. He enthusiastically voted for Bernie Sanders. Harris lost because millions of people stayed home, not because Trump suddenly became more popular. The path forward for Democrats is to either genuinely appeal to the working class or to run a charismatic man (Obama, Clinton) on neoliberal policies.

Right. I feel like a very popular sentiment is "Don't have kids you can't afford." Women who want kids are trying to pair up with men who can afford them in a country with limited social safety nets, and even still, two working parents has become the norm, so it's not like most women expect the man to carry all of the financial weight on his shoulders.

So we should ignore a campaign started in the past week but give credence to one that occurred in Great Britain over 100 years ago? Y'all are so desperate to play the victim. Yes. The birth rate is already low, and if women cannot receive appropriate care when their life is at risk, they're going to elect to stop putting themselves in the position to be at risk at all. If you think abortion is tantamount to murder, and the baby itself didn't do anything wrong, then why is it OK to murder that baby? By carving out a rape exception, you seem to recognize there's a difference between aborting a fetus and killing a live-born child.

Men don't like it but my husband has been called adorable a lot (he's shorter with a nice face) and he gets openly hit on more than any other guy I know. One of the few red pill things I agree with is the concept of agreeing and amplifying. Men who get defensive over a compliment will do much worse than those who play along.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/11/24 01:10 PM

I agree with you. I think inflation/cost of living issues hit everyone hard, people looked at who was in office, and voted to change things. I disagree that Trump will help, but I get that perspective well enough. I think if Democrats quit courting Wall Street there's a chance to earn some of those votes back. I'm more referring to the spite votes or the ones openly celebration restriction on women's rights. Hopefully a fringe minority, but I don't see ever branching the divide there.

Young women already had standards, hence why Trump-supporting young men had to hide their political views to have a chance on dating apps. With the behavior of a certain subset of his supporters following the election, women will only get more selective. The women who broke for Trump are old and already married. I'm fully in support of young women remaining as selective as possible.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 08:09 PM

There have been multiple posts here since the election made by men blaming women for not catering to men's issues enough as the reason Trump won. /r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 06:22 AM

You're kind of proving my point
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 06:15 AM

I agree with your main point. Biden promised to be a transitional president, and by opting to run for a second term, we lost the chance to vet and select the best candidate for the job. It's very frustrating.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 06:13 AM

I don't disagree with you at all. The Democratic Party has lost touch with its roots. If Democrats want to win, they need to connect with and work for the working class. Republicans do a great job at this, though I'd argue most of their proposed policies are unhelpful to anyone but the most wealthy.

I'm very grateful to the men who supported Harris. I'm also fully on board with trying to connect with people who voted for Trump on the economy or people who didn't vote at all. I oppose women wasting their time trying to appeal to the hearts and minds of men who have been laughing or gloating about women be…
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 05:44 AM

No, I was asking for clarification. Trump won't enhance the lives of men unless they already happen to be extremely rich, so the logic of men voting for him because he speaks to men's issues doesn't connect for me. What issues? The economy will be worse, access to mental health care will not be prioritized as "pick your self up by your bootstraps" is the party's ethos. What do you like about what he is saying? What will he do for men beyond lip service that doesn't amount to anything tangible?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 05:33 AM

Agreed. You need to give people something to fight for, not focus your messaging on how the opponent is terrible.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/24 02:00 AM

Exactly this. People are being hit hard by inflation. If people voted for Trump because they truly thought he would improve the economy, I don't hold any disdain for them at all. I thoroughly disagree with them, but I don't hold it against them as people.

I'll respond to your two examples at least: Don't waste your time on women who play hard to get. You'll likely drive more of her interest by not following her around and doing your own thing than by playing her games. Life isn't "The Notebook." As a rule (and maybe people will disagree with this), don't send sexual texts before the first sexual encounter. Once you have hooked up, then it'll likely be better received.

You can't say men judge more on acquired characteristics and then just exclude youth. Youth is arguably the most prized characteristic in women, and it is something you have until you don't, through no control of your own. Additionally, men have a number of paths to initially attracting a partner-charisma, looks, money, status, sense of humor. Women have one, and it's appearance.

Interesting study out of Poland relevant to your comment: "Here we document a striking disparity in the impact of children on the life span of mothers and fathers in a Polish rural population. We show for the first time that number of daughters was positively related to a longer life span of their fathers, increasing their longevity on average by 74 weeks per daughter born, while number of sons did not have a significant effect on paternal longevity. In contrast, in women, the number of daughter…

Disagree. If you're charming and can hold frame, the world is your oyster. Being able to consistently convince other people to like you is maybe the most powerful characteristic a person can have in all elements of life. And women are absolutely attracted to that. That said, it's probably easier to diet/exercise/work on styling than it is to develop that trait, if it's not innate.

I think my interpretation of that phrase and yours are a bit different. I'm not saying that a person shouldn't do what they can to set themselves up for success. For your first bike trip, you presumably trained, mapped out your route, planned for emergency situations, and you still felt mentally like you might not make it. But you did it anyway. You could have just taken the easy path and skipped the trip, but you didn't. That's what I mean by fake it until you make it. Prepare for success the b…

My point was that throwing in the towel because you haven't had success previously isn't a great strategy. I fully believe a lot of great things don't come easily, and I don't believe there's any benefit at all to counting yourself out. If you don't feel confident yet, pretend that you are until you truly feel that way. What's the harm in that? I also agree with you that obesity is not going to be solved by "powering through." On an individual level, that may work for some people, but if it were…

What does your social life look like? Do any of your hobbies involve interacting with women? Do you volunteer at all? The short, romantically successful men I know have all met partners in person (usually through friend groups) rather than online. That said, I fully concede that being below average in height/looks put you at a disadvantage.

It sounds reductive, but fake it til you make it. I fully acknowledge I didn't have the romantic struggles an introverted man would have, but I do work in a difficult profession where I had a heavy dose of impostor syndrome starting out, despite a PhD and positive comments about my work. I feigned confidence until I had enough experience to have it naturally. The alternative would have been switching to a less demanding field where I didn't need to struggle to succeed. For men struggling romanti…

Confidence is generally attractive to women. A lot of morally bankrupt people are unfortunately confident and charismatic. A woman will also be attracted to a confident, charismatic man who is morally good. To your last point, yes, you should focus on improving yourself for your own sake. If you want to improve your success with women, put yourself in situations where you have to talk to a lot of people to improve your confidence and charisma, and go to the gym.

/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/24 06:31 PM

Men are filming young girls for their own sexual gratification in that woman's example. In your example, women filming themselves happen to catch men gawking at them, again, for their for sexual gratification. This isn't a reverse of your situation at all. It's men not being able to mind their own business and leave women (or girls) alone.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/24 06:00 PM

Men wear short shorts and no shirt while working out all the time and no one cares. Seems like you're a bit bent out of shape over nothing.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/24 05:52 PM

You brought up a nonsense, niche example. I have no patience or tolerance for men who try to comment on what is and isn't appropriate dress. Men frequently take their shirts off to exercise and somehow it's not an issue for women trying to exercise at the same time. If you want to live in a country where women are forced to dress modestly enough for your standards so that men aren't tempted to gawk, you are free to do so. You want us to respect men as leaders and arbiters of what's appropriate w…
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/24 05:19 PM

I disagree with your entire premise. There's very little that I would consider "violating modesty." If you can't handle women in tight work out clothes, stay out of the gym. And off the beach apparently, since I guess bikinis would be too immodest for your sensibilities too.

There is absolutely a certain type of man who would never be comfortable with his wife/partner earning more than him. Namely, the man who thinks the primary thing he has to offer in a partnership is his ability to provide. That said, I know quite a few couples where the woman earns more than the man. In every case, the man is very confident in himself, and usually works in a high prestige/interesting profession (firefighter, teacher, scientist) even if it's not a high-paying one.

Victoria's Secret lost a ton of money because women opted to buy from women-focused brands instead of ones that catered to the male gaze. They then changed their marketing strategy to make more money, which is fundamentally the driver of most behavior.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/24 04:50 PM

That's just propaganda from the right. Only a knucklehead would look at someone like Trump and see a strong, masculine role model. He is relentlessly insecure and petty and wildly out of shape. He's a draft-dodging grifter and young men lap it up. It's sad, honestly. McCain and Romney are both strong men who led the lives conservatives extol, but so are Obama/Walz. The right does not have a monopoly on masculinity; in fact, it's strayed further from traditional masculinity than ever before.

I married a liberal man who makes six figures and likes to exercise. Last Fall, the person giving him his flu shot told him unprompted that he had "zaddy deltoids." Before him I dated a personal trainer who is now a nurse practitioner and spent an hour or two at the gym every day on his own. Also liberal. I'd compromise on physical fitness before political views, but if you go to college, it's not difficult to find men who have both.

Most women aren't posting thirst traps. The ones who are are getting external validation and/or money, and they usually play into the fantasy rather than complain about it. Western women complain about men freaking out about crop tops or shorts or leggings or showing shoulders or whatever "immodest" clothing is deemed inappropriate. We wear those because it's hot outside or because it's comfortable to work out in, not because we're asking to be sexualized.

Nurturing an unrequited crush can be very painful, so I'd withdraw for that reason alone. Commenting as a married woman with a husband who has been hit on by several coworkers, I don't care if someone has a crush on him. He comes home and tells me about it if they say something forward. And if his commitment to me is so tenuous that he'd cheat, then I'm better off without him. Life is too short to worry about mate guarding.

I'm married and I'm honestly fine with this. If my husband's commitment to me is so tenuous that it can be swayed by a coworker with a crush, she can have him.

I'd wager more than 50% of men would act on that offer; rationale is higher libido/higher novelty seeking than women. For women, I'd say maybe 25-35%? 13% of women admitted to marital infidelity in a more recent survey, so doubling that seems like a safe estimate. Anecdotally, I know of three married women who have hit on just one of my single male friends, so there's definitely a strong contingent looking for novelty.

Ravers are famously non-judgmental. Why do you care what women are doing at festivals you aren't attending?
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 03:40 PM

I think younger women are getting cosmetic treatments/procedures typically reserved for 40+ year olds which is prematurely making them look older than they are :( Skincare regimens seem good though.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/24 02:32 PM

I don't really see this in reality as much as it's touted online? The women who want to be in relationships seem to find them, and the women who want to be single stay single. My cousin is 30 and ended a five year relationship a year ago. She did her own thing for maybe six months, and now she's dating a beautiful firefighter the same age as her who seems crazy about her. Most of my single male friends (mid thirties) set their range on the apps to 25-40 or so, but I don't think they particularly…

There is some overlap-it emphasizes developing your own interests/life, setting boundaries, not being a doormat. There's no focus on attracting the opposite sex, though. It's not an especially earth-shattering book, but some people need it spelled out that letting people walk over you isn't going to get you the life you want.

There was a book that addressed this called "Why Men Love Bitches," and the underlying principal was that you can't expect anyone else to respect you if you don't respect yourself. Being a doormat in hopes of getting what you want is a bad strategy. It didn't emphasize manipulation, but it did suggest that you communicate to set expectations clearly, and if things aren't moving in the direction you want after a couple of years, do not be afraid to leave the relationship. Here's generally what to look for-not a perfect system, but nothing is. Does she touch you a lot? Correct, it is. You can't control the actions of another person, and you can't guarantee that a man who loves you today will love you tomorrow. Every woman should have a backup plan, even if she plans on being a SAHM.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/24 09:27 PM

Maybe you don't care, but she does. Women have collectively decided they by and large want economic independence, and the sour grapes posted by men they wouldn't want anyway isn't going to change that. Stake your future on yourself, not another person. It's good advice for anyone.

Plenty of women have seen other women get fucked over by staking their bets on their men, and as a result you see more women than ever before pursuing economic freedom. Most people marry within their socioeconomic class, and msot people marry people similar in age. Redpillers take a fringe minority of sugar daddy/baby arrangements and treat them as the rule. For a woman, marrying someone your own age is associated with the longest life expectancy, interestingly enough. https://www.demogr.mpg.de/en/news_events_6123/news_press_releases_4630/press/marriage_and_life_expectancy_1813#:~:text=The%20mortality%20risk%20of%20a,holds%20true%20for%20both%20sexes.

The title stated women are bad at rejection. I don't think women really claim they are good at handling rejection, so I don't know what the point of this statement/debate is if not to juxtapose it with men being better at handling rejection.

Men and women are both bad at handling rejection. To your examples about women, I give you this series of example about men: r/whenwomenrefuse Furthermore, I don't think women spend a lot of time claiming they're better at handling rejection than men are. We just don't usually approach men because we don't have to.

All of those things certainly matter in attraction. Charisma is arguably the most important facet of attraction. Charismatic men can absolutely pull attractive women regardless of looks/money/status, but it's very difficult/time-consuming to become charismatic if you don't come by it naturally. I do have sympathy for men on this.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/24 07:33 PM

Prejudice is a bias against something without reason. Women are cautious of men in the woods because women have been murdered by men in the woods. I don't understand any of these talking points. Women are aware that height matters. We just disagree with the assertion that "it's over" if you aren't six feet. It's self-defeating nonsense. I am truly sorry about your nephew, but that doesn't change the fact that waiting until you are established and secure in your mate (which often doesn't happen until late 20s/early 30s) is likely the better option for most women. /r/PurplePillDebate26/04/24 04:36 PM

Sure. I think the expectations for a man are tough to live up to. You have to be strong, you have to provide, you can't show the wrong types of emotions for fear of appearing weak, you could be drafted into a war you don't agree with, you have to be confident, you have to make the first move and deal with rejection. That's a lot to shoulder. My introverted ass could never; I'd die alone for sure.

It's a slur almost exclusively directed at women. Usually means she's having sex but not with you. If a man uses it, it gives sour grapes and lets me know to avoid him for friendship/relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/04/24 11:47 AM

Why would we call another woman out for having a lot of sex by using a gendered slur? It's her business. No man will call out another man for the same. If you want to prize virginity, so be it, but don't expect women to carry your water for you. A man who uses gendered slurs is a man women should avoid, so the word is useful in that way.

Sperm quality degrades with age. That's biology, not a fake feminist narrative. You can have children, but those children are much more likely to have issues. Yes, it is definitely a compliment. Cillian Murphy, Ian Somerhalder, young Johnny Depp, Timothee Chalamet are all "pretty" but very appealing. I've only ever dated guys with nice faces-it matters a lot more to me than body type provided there's some reasonable level of fitness there. Being called "cute" on the other hand could go either way.

It doesn't matter if it's the lowest common denominator. A woman has no idea what caliber of man she's dealing with when she's hit on by a stranger, so it's better to play it safe, be polite and get herself out of there in one piece.

It's always been that way. "The Wall" is a revenge fantasy that rarely plays out in real life. Most men who couldn't attract women at 20 still won't attract women at 40. Marriages are least likely to end in divorce the closer in age the two partners are. And more women are content to be single at older ages than men. Oh well.

I'm in NY in a pretty economically successful social circle, and half of the members of my friend group of about 24 or so met their future spouse in college. I'm now 34, but marriages started around age 25 and peaked around ages 27-28. An old FB study found that 28% of married college grads attended the same school as their spouse, so it's not off base to suggest that a lot of people are pairing up early.

This analysis disputes that, and suggests that the scale effect that I described dominates the substitution effect that you described. Just something to consider.

The easier explanation is that more men would visit prostitutes were it legal. Prostitution is not a desirable job for most women for myriad reasons, so you have a demand that's much greater than the supply. Enter human trafficking to fill that gap.

I've found what you're saying to be true for hookups, not for long term relationships and marriages. I'm in a social circle filled with doctors, lawyers, engineers, PhD scientists-not one man has married "beneath" him, so to speak. There are studies to bear this out-people marry others in their same social class, and this effect is becoming more pronounced over time. https://www.nytimes.com/2016/02/23/upshot/rise-in-marriages-of-equals-and-in-division-by-class.html

In my experience, smart men marry smart women. I've never seen a man in my social circle marry much "beneath" him. I think it's true that a man will have sex with an attractive woman no matter her financial/career prospects, but I've not seen that born out in relationships or marriages at all.

There's a reason widowed men jump right into another marriage while widowed women tend to stay single (I have studies to back that up if you'd like them). Marriage tends to benefit men more than it does women. Married men live longer than single men, whereas single women live longer than married women.

This subreddit is absolutely misogynistic lmfao. It's relishing in women specifically getting their "just desserts." I'm sure a subreddit like this about men or about people of a certain race would be taken extremely well 🙄

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
