New SPLC Intelligence Report on the 'Manosphere' - "Men’s rights activists did not tell Rodger to kill — but in their writings, it seems like many of them wouldn’t mind doing some killing of their ownI mean, we don't exactly need a specialized study to compare them; they're simple statistics. It's easy enough to compare them on our own. In this case, the results are ambiguous across multiple studies, and by including them we have a more complete dataset, yielding a range of one figure that can put it equal to the other. Is there some kind of punch that I forgot to drink before commenting, here, or something? This really seems straightforward to me. I suppose we may just have to agree to disa… | /r/MensRights | 06/09/14 03:09 AM
New SPLC Intelligence Report on the 'Manosphere' - "Men’s rights activists did not tell Rodger to kill — but in their writings, it seems like many of them wouldn’t mind doing some killing of their ownComparable between about 2% and 8% 2% 8% Comparable. I'm really not getting your point. Those figures are absolutely comparable - and because of the ambiguity of the stats, they may even be precisely matched - we don't know. If two values are, at best estimate, potentially equal, it seems absurd to me to claim that "comparable" is a poor description of them. Sure, the way it's phrased is a little bit weasely, but it's not exactly literally Hitler material. edit: s/ithe/the | /r/MensRights | 06/09/14 01:55 AM
New SPLC Intelligence Report on the 'Manosphere' - "Men’s rights activists did not tell Rodger to kill — but in their writings, it seems like many of them wouldn’t mind doing some killing of their ownRight... and that's what the SPLC is saying, too... But the best scholarly studies show that between about 2% and 8% of such allegations are actually false — a rate that is comparable for false allegations of most other violent crimes. So you're offering up the citation for them? I don't understand. | /r/MensRights | 06/09/14 01:18 AM

Should false rape accusers be sued?By Roxanne JonesGot any proof of that? Yep. https://i1.minus.com/ibaQLzLyIbMSmW.jpg https://i.imgur.com/nR2fZBf.jpg ...And really, "all the women at Occidental"? They're all false rape accusers? ...And you're calling others deluded? | /r/MensRights | 17/12/13 11:58 PM

Tumblr is at it again. Men's rights activism is about harassing feminists.By the way...Rape Culture applies to prison rape and what happens outside of it No it doesn't, for the umpteenth time. You saying that any use of the term "rape culture" except for how it worked in the 70s about prison rape being wrong... is the same as me saying that any use of the word "the" except for how it worked when it first referred to a horse is wrong. I'm not ignoring what you've said. My apologies if I wasn't clear enough, but analogies can be like that sometimes. So what do you think… | /r/MensRights | 03/12/13 08:30 AM
| -1 | Tumblr is at it again. Men's rights activism is about harassing feminists.I'm glad you managed not to include "the" in your comment. Remember, any usage except to talk about "the" horse is totally invalid. | /r/MensRights | 02/12/13 03:55 PM |
| -13 | Tumblr is at it again. Men's rights activism is about harassing feminists."Rape Culture" applied to prison rape from a documentary produced on it in the 1970s. That's the true meaning of the term. lol, really? You know, the word "the" was first used to describe a horse - obviously any usage since then, no matter how apt or popular, simply doesn't count. | /r/MensRights | 02/12/13 03:23 AM |

This sort of thing bums me out.Yeah, except for how the National Organization for Women (NOW) passed a resolution in 1980 opposing males-only draft registration as discriminatory, and the American Civil Liberties Union's Women's Rights Project provided aid to the plaintiff in the Supreme Court case Rostker v. Goldberg, in which the plaintiff unsuccessfully challenged males-only draft registration. https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Conscription_in_the_United_States&oldid=579124046#Perception_of_the_draft_as_unfair Com… | /r/MensRights | 08/11/13 03:59 PM

okay, if you're blaming mens' limitations in drink choices on the PATRIARCHY, then it's fair to blame misandrist legislation on feminism. No, it isn't fair, because patriarchy is defined as an unequal social order that favors men, while feminism is defined as the belief that such unequal social orders, favoring anyone, should be abolished. | /r/MensRights | 22/08/10 05:31 AM
Rape accusers should be publicly namedAnd so the solution is to make a spectacle of someone who is likely in tremendous distress? Why not just protect the identity of both parties in the public eye. I think the damage is caused by the exposure, on either side, and therefore it's the exposure that's the obvious target for reform. | /r/MensRights | 07/01/09 08:08 AM
Rape accusers should be publicly namedThey are both serious, certainly. But equal? I'm not so sure. A falsely accused alleged rapist may lose their job, their family, their friends, their home, their reputation and more, but, as my grandmother would say, "at least they've got their health." And, in having that, a fresh start is always possible, albeit with some sacrifices. A survivor of sexual assault, on the other hand, is often traumatized permanently in profound, broadly affective ways. Panic disorders, depression, agoraphobia an… | /r/MensRights | 07/01/09 08:04 AM
