This is me, haha. I’m glad you found a good one!

Yes, I wouldn’t have married him if I didn’t think we’d be in for the long haul. We dated for four years and were engaged for two, and lived together for 5 years before being married, because I didn’t want to rush into anything.

I can’t speak for all men but I would take a feminist leaning man over an RPer any day, and I agree with your comment.

How so? I’m talking about the very traditional role where all childcare is left to the mother.

I don’t find that the modern feminist vilifies these things, but there will always be some outliers especially on the internet. You can still be a feminist and be traditional, but you need to be aware of WHY modern feminists focus on women’s independence. Your grandparents sound like they had a sweet relationship, but all too many times a relationship with traditional gender roles turns out badly for the woman (and many times the man too). Women who are not financially independent become unable …

Not traumatic but confusing/depressing? I got HUGE boobs and gained a lot of weight and became incredibly self conscious. Periods were also stressful to deal with (still are tbh) always having to make sure you had products on you and you weren’t leaking. Sad part is I had more guys creep on me before puberty than after :(

Average for me is probably 5ft9 or 10, maybe a little over or underweight, makes 50k a year. Probably white. As long as you aren’t completely hideous I would date you as long as you had a good personality. I should also say that I’m a pretty average woman - 5ft, slightly overweight, brown hair, big boobs, works but doesn’t make too much money. I was never looking for “chad” because I would feel too inadequate or ugly compared to someone who had a perfect body. I’m married, I think my partner is …

Dark humor? Ok. Racist/sexist jokes? No. It makes you look immature and signals that we don’t have the same values.

Yes, because the woman may be insecure. I am chubby so I would totally reject “built” or really good looking guys out of fear or because I thought they were hitting on me as a joke. When I first met my husband I immediately friend zoned him because I thought there was no way he would be interested in me. So yes, it happens, and in this case it could be happening for this guy or he could be getting rejected for other reasons.

That’s hard. Maybe just sleep with them then and see how it goes? But if a dude is pressuring me into sex I wouldn’t be too into him anyway

Not op but because you asked for an example …It could be that women have been viewed as property for hundreds of years so we have been socialized to believe that when someone else has used your property, it diminishes its value. This is part of society’s ingrained misogyny. But in the modern era I don’t think all men care too much about count, I think most people care more about if it matches their own. Having a similar count signifies that you might have a similar life style and more in common.…

It’s the crux of it for sure but I think women are also insecure (this is coming an insecure woman). I think it’s the insecurity combined with the idea that women are a prize or possession that has been “ruined” if too many other men has had her.

I certainly have sympathy for men experiencing violence. Gun and gang violence is a huge issue and this effects men more than anyone. I would encourage all men to also be careful walking home late at night. But have some sympathy for women’s issues as well. Imagine being smaller than most people and walking alone or late at night. Imagine being slower and someone following you. Imagine living in a home with someone who could easily overpower you but having no where else to go. We aren’t focusing…

It’s a burden on women to try avoid having a period, and not every woman can or wants to be on birth control for many reason. Plus your period is what indicates you aren’t pregnant so it’s a useful tool. As for violence against women, these are different types of assault you’re talking about. Women are more likely to be sexually assaulted or harassed (and much of this goes unreported). I’m not saying men aren’t the target of violence, but it’s mostly due to an altercation or dispute, not for bei…

Maybe in the past but I think don’t think most people are investing years into a relationship just for the wedding. My husband and I lived together for six years before we married so no real reason to change. I wasn’t in it for the marriage, I’m in it for the partnership and companionship. The marriage was just a bonus.

The answer is that there isn’t a huge incentive to be in a relationship, especially now that many people want to be child free. People want to be happy and in the modern era, for both men and women, dating and finding the right partner is too hard and sometimes stressful. Women don’t want to settle or waste time picking through a pool of awful men. Sex is available if they want it usually but many women don’t even consider this a top priority. Many focus on careers and friends and pets and famil…

I think if a straight/bi woman is at a gay club, she is probably not looking to hook up with a straight man, so I’m not sure how that’s a cheat code.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/02/22 12:12 AM

No. I feel that a red pill believer would never truly trust me and believe that trust is the foundation of a good relationship. They are misogynists at the core and I would never date a man like that. We would never be able to get along if our beliefs are fundamentally different.

Hot girl privilege is a thing, just like hot guy privilege is a thing. However, I think this matters mostly when it comes to meeting someone. The issue is that when you are super attractive, you have less incentive to be interesting or funny (of course you can be attractive, interesting, nice, smart, and funny but I think that’s pretty rare). People who are simply super attractive can find relationships but it might be hard to keep them. Also, it might be hard for really attractive men and women…

There are all types of clubs, some are more upscale than others. Typically clubs aren’t the place to meet your soul mate but better for hookups. I don’t think it’s necessarily “low value” people, but people who aren’t looking for something serious. Not sure I would equate tattoos with low value either, I know some fine people with tats.

Former emo girl, current “normie” I guess. A little shy but funny. I think I’m friendly and open minded. Always had self esteem issues but a little more confident now that I’m older. Grew up conservative but now left leaning (USA). Partied a lot in my college years to meet friends and guys, definitely a little boring now that I’m in my 30s and married, but I like it that way.

I don’t think it means you respect them any less, but it’s about signals. Too many times people have slept with someone (male or female) and then get ghosted or something after. Some men also might think a woman is “too easy” is she gives it up right away. Doesn’t sound like you’re that type of dude though

Of course I initiate it and randomly kiss him - I love him, I am attracted to him, and he’s my best friend. It sounds like your view of women is rather narrow, I feel quite sorry for you. Perhaps try talking to more of them and learning about them? While physical touch is big, and might be your number one priority, there are a lot of things that make people happy - “you’re a great cook!…do you want me to pick up your dry cleaning for you?….why don’t you take a nap you’ve had a long day!….you see…

You don’t need to be rude about it. I’m an adult woman and married. I think that time and attention is also an indicator that a woman is into you. There are also ways to be physical that don’t involve sex. I’m not sure I could get sex in ten minutes, I’m not really that attractive lol but would have been nice in my single days when I was trying to meet someone!

I’ll give ya an upvote for your honesty. Sounds like the answer is that everyone prioritizes different things and try to and find a partner that fulfills you.

That’s true. But personally I like the buildup - the waiting, flirting, kissing - it’s like foreplay. To each his own I suppose

I think you hit the nail on the head, even if for some guys it’s a hard pill to swallow! For some women, they meet a guy and maybe they don’t connect but he’s cute, but wants to have a good time so she chooses to sleep with him. She doesn’t care if he sees her a slut or not because she doesn’t care about him. If she meets a guy she connects with and is attracted to - she will not only want to impress him, but also want to get to know him and take it slow. Guys might not want to hear this but it’…

I appreciate the response from a male perspective but I do think you’re generalizing a bit. I have a hard time believing it’s always true that the ultimate goal for men is sex- my husband, while sex is important, values a good relationship, health, good household, and a family. He had his share of flings as well but settled down when he found the right partner. It kinda makes men seem really one dimensional to say that their ultimate goal is sex. You also assume that women would have sex extreme…

I was just wondering why wouldn’t try to see it another way. To me, seeing sex as a reward seems like the wrong way to go about it and won’t lead to a healthy relationship. It makes it sound like you’re owed something which creates resentment on both ends. If all you care about is sex then I guess it makes more sense. You are entitled to your opinion.

This is not true. We will totally wait if we want to focus on getting to know someone.

Theres totally a disconnect. If a guy slept with other women immediately but waited for me I would assume he respected me and wanted to get to know more more and I would see it as a positive. Seems like most guys don’t see it that way.

I tried to explain but got downvoted 💁🏼‍♀️ I wasn’t really saying what was right or wrong, just saying why I would do it any why other women might do it. Guess some people don’t want to hear the truth.

I think it’s pretty simple, as a woman who has done something similar. If you don’t care about a relationship, and don’t care to ever see the person again after, but still find them attractive, sex is on the table. It’s for fun. However, if you find a real connection, it’s so much more meaningful to savor the moment. Get to know them more. Daydream about how that first time will be. Flirt. That sexual tension and buildup is a great part of the relationship and only happens once in a relationship…

I agree - has this person ever been outside? I get that physical attraction is different for different people, but the woman is almost always more attractive (or it’s a close matchup).

I think this is right especially in the modern era. Women (especially working women) are sick of having to work, cook, clean, and take care of children/pets and still be pleasant and have time for fun and sex. Many men have gotten the picture and split these duties or compromise but some haven’t and then don’t understand when their partner has had enough. That being said there are always outliers who are just cruel and leave without even trying to fix things or without warning.

Women are also more likely to be the victim of physical violence.
