Okay well my original comment was about catcalling so you may be barking up the wrong tree.

Lol ok dude, I’m the deluded one. Where did I say that approaching women is harassment? I was referring specifically to men who shout at or make sexual comments to women on the street or elsewhere. Harassment literally means to bother someone or make them uncomfortable relentlessly, which is what happens when entitled little boys think that women owe them something just for being alive. However, If you approach a woman and you’re not a fucking weirdo and you respect her right to say “no thank yo…

I’ve found that some women are unbothered by it and take it as a compliment. Other women, such as myself, feel like they are in danger when a situation like that happens. If they’re in a car and I’m walking in the street, they could easily pull over next to me and harass me further. Or worse, if they are walking past me, they could make some attempt to physically control me. It immediately triggers my fight or flight, except I always freeze, as I have been taught to do. Don’t respond, don’t look…

Me too haha. Well that’s awesome! I think that already puts you ahead.

If I was that girl and I liked you, which it seems like she really might since she offered you help with math, I’d find it cute if you blushed when talking to me. Especially if she isn’t seen by other men as conventionally attractive, she would likely be flattered and happy that you like her so much. You seem genuine and sweet so I’m totally rooting for you lol. I really think you should reach out to her for homework help, maybe it will make the blushing go down if you are more used to being aro…

I second this. Great advice!

I got you. Do you feel like you know yourself pretty well? Like, do you have a good amount of self-awareness? I think that plays a big part in self-improvement.

That’s awesome!! I’m so glad :) just make them do a ton of fun shit with you lol. The glasses sound like a good idea! Making yourself look good and taking care of yourself is a great way to improve your mood and maybe it will make you want to interact with more people like you used to.

I have been single for over two years now and the thing that I have loved doing the most is spending quality time with my friends. I’m a woman so I don’t know if this is a thing guys prioritize or if it would be seen as weird for you to do this, but I’ve loved taking day trips with my few close friends, maybe go to the beach or go camping, both fairly inexpensive activities. Being active with my friends, taking hikes going rock climbing, going to the pool or hot tub. Seeing movies or going to fu…

Amazing advice, the guy I’m currently with used this approach when we met. Neither of us were looking for someone to date, we both were having fun and discovered a greater connection because of that. Right on :)

Okay good. Well best of luck, I wish I could help more! Online dating can take a lot out of a person, it’s a huge time and energy commitment no matter which way you look at it.

Hm...do you only use tinder? I think other apps may be a little better for what you’re looking for, which is just decent human beings lol. Coffee meets bagel is pretty cool and so is okcupid!

I gotchu. Well...you could try to filter out the people who are flaky before you make plans with them? You probably already do that, but maybe if you see if they respond to your messages for a few days and if they seem honest and mature and like they are really trying to find a connection, then make plans to meet up. I guess more pre-screening would be my advice. I think if someone doesn’t really care and intends to just flake on you you’ll be able to tell by their lack of response or lack of ha…

Good point lol he has a very “idgaf” attitude about life. I’m sure there are much better ways to go about it

It probably varies a lot depending on area, age, how much you’ve talked, how well you know them, etc.

That happened to me on tinder with guys. Imo it’s the culture of online dating. I’m seeing a guy now and he told me that he’s set up two or three tinder dates to meet at the same place and time and that he never had an instance where more than one showed up. He also said that he would never set aside time or cancel plans for a tinder date because of how unreliable they are. A second chance seems reasonable to me, but if they are rude enough to not tell you in advance that they aren’t coming on t…

Okay I see. Maybe just try to slowly ease yourself into romance and sex? If you’ve never fully experienced those things before you won’t know what you’re missing, which may lead to a lack of desire. When I was a virgin sex seemed strange and I never fantasized about it, but now I do. Lol. Just find someone who will work with you and make you feel comfortable and safe.

Have you researched asexuality? I don’t know a lot about it but your experience sounds similar to feelings that a lot of other people go through. You may want to look into that possibility!

I really like your articles. I found this subreddit and was worried it would just be a bunch of sexist dudes talking about how to degrade women so they’ll sleep with you, but your posts are so wholesome and they’re so true. You seem smart, intuitive, ethical and fair. Great work :) this is all great advice.

No. Refer to our previous conversation for the truth, you are not borderline ugly.

Lol I have ADD too, and he asked to be judged on his looks alone. For the record tho I don’t rly care about money. I like buying stuff for people anyways.

The bad picture quality is the only thing that made you look borderline ugly. Yes, you look similar enough in the Tinder pics to be realistic.

Lol well it seemed like you would only trust me if I was meaner than I had to be. I hope you understand, though, that I used borderline ugly because the quality of the pictures made you seem that way, even though I do not believe you are ugly at all. In the blurry pictures, maybe, but when I see your face clearly, I can see that you are, in fact, NOT ugly at all. So just get some better pictures lol. The one of you covering your face with the phone is OK, you just look kind of sad or miserable. …

It’s ok I understand lol. You still look attractive from the front! I can kind of tell even though the pictures aren’t great. Is there anyone that you’re close to, a friend or family member, who could help you get dressed up and take nice, clear, well-lit pictures of you? I would not feel catfished if I met you on the basis of the Tinder pics. If you believe you are ugly 100%, no one will be able to convince you otherwise. I challenge you to start thinking of yourself in a positive way rather th…

YOU are not ugly in all the pics. The picture quality and angle make you look worse than you ACTUALLY look. I think you ACTUALLY look like your tinder pics. Therefore, using those pics does NOT make you a catfish. Those pics are an accurate representation of what you really look like. And you really look like a cute guy.

The tinder pics: I can see your face clearly, the angle is flattering, you look handsome. The other pics: poor quality, I can’t see your face as clearly, the camera angles are much less flattering. You look borderline ugly because the pics are bad.

If it was me in that situation, I probably would have stared back at you that day because I meant it as a challenge. If someone stares at me I do it back lol. No idea why she would give you that face the next time she saw you though. Maybe she was reacting to something someone else said and happened to catch your eye?

Girl here: you look hot in the tinder pics. I’d go out with you based on those pics. They are not ugly in the slightest. In the other pics though, you look borderline ugly. This tells me that you are NOT ugly, but the pictures are unflattering. I repeat: you are not ugly, I think you’re really cute. But even attractive people can look ugly in bad photos.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
