Ahaha no. Be careful. As someone who just had a blowout with all my friend group (all men, all gay). A lot of them can end up being misogynistic…most of them grew up as boys after all and in their preteens/teens realized they were gay. My ex was abusive and the lack of sympathy and gossip my friends participated in is absolutely unforgivable. Also, one of them decided to message my ex (who then bragged to me about my friends messaging him) just for the drama of it all. These are gays in their 30…

Honestly, there is not going to be change if people don't talk about it. Victims generally don't want to openly discuss the trauma that some narc asshole they loved caused. Especially for their safety. I decided to go public with my experience because my ex is out there and could still stalk/kill me. Can't say I told you so from the grave, so I am doing it now god forbid he tries something :/ I had generally a great experience with the police (they were all women). However, the court let my abus…

I am horrified. As someone who just went through an abusive relationship where he could have just killed me (and he was granted minimum bail to go to another country), I am disgusted. I wish police were better trained, I wish there were stricter laws of letting abusers off on bail…it all feels so futile. The justice system doesn’t work in the favor of women. That said, I am glad they found her. Her ex seems like a dumbass and I hope with the media attention on this, he gets the book thrown at hi…

It is great you left now. I wish I did the same thing with my ex. I feel your pain, but it is a good thing you are getting out early. Emotional and mental abuse can absolutely evolve into physical abuse. Never ever ever let a man move your boundaries, because they will keep chipping away at your self-worth until you have none. Then they will walk all over you.

It took a long time. We were always together practically 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This has been the longest I have been without him ever. I started recalling all the red flags that I didn’t see because I was in love. I thought he really loved me too, but you don’t hit people you love. I know that now.

Please be safe too! He most likely won’t get bail as he is a foreign citizen and a flight risk. He also has no money. I told his family and despite them wanting to help him, they have said he will just have to face the consequences.

I am so sorry. My ex became increasingly violent and when he hit me first, I excused it. He cleaned, he cooked, he could be nice when he wanted to... Two days ago, he beat me again. He is in jail now on a felony charge. I felt super guilty at first but the fog has lifted and he made his bed. You have a long road ahead of you, but it will get better. Find a good support group or have your family nearby. Good luck.

Surprisingly, most guys I have slept with have been very generous and give me orgasms every single time. I have a really hard time orgasming from PiV too. There was one guy from Uzbekistan (what a surprise) that was a horrible three minutes including a shower. I never slept with any Americans however. The only American guy I was seeing was the biggest dickhead misogynistic asshole I ever had the pleasure of dating.

I only know what my friends have said. They fall in two groups; Some are really afraid of radicalization and see the hijab or full abayah as a move towards a country like Saudi. IMO, Tajiks fear this more so than other countries in the region, due to their civil war and the spilt between Shi’a and Sunni Muslims. Saudi just funded the biggest mosque in Central Asia right in Dushanbe. My friends are afraid that Wahhabism or radical religious thinking will spread. They associate such outfits with r…

Also in Europe and I agree. But surprisingly men take me out to dinner and pay. I don’t even have to say anything. I was really surprised when I read so many stories on here about men insisting on going Dutch.

Oh nice. I was supposed to be in Tashkent and Khiva but due to Corona, I can’t 😭 I want plov and samsas. Are the fundamentalists generally based in Andijan? That is the only area I didn’t go to because my friends told me not to go alone.

Where exactly? I often go to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. A lot of people frown upon women with burqas or abayas. Women generally wear form fitting dresses with long sleeves. Maybe a scarf tied for their hair, depends on the age. My friend last time carried an umbrella with her in the 40 degree plus summer heat with humidity for hours while we walked around. I was suffering even in my western-style dress so idk how she did it.

Sorry for what happened to you as well. It is sad that this happens far too often. Also, don’t know based on your username, but solidarity to HK! I always thought that rape happened with strangers (happened before this ex-bf) and didn’t happen in a relationship. Little did I know 🙃 Sex Ed needs to be necessary in school. I wish someone told me sooner so I would have cut him off.

My ex-boyfriend when I was a pickme told me a horrible story. He told me he learned as a child that cats have nine lives so he tossed a cat in the air and let her drop. I was obviously disgusted but thought it was in the past. The cat broke two legs and was given to a neighbour but still what kind of psychotic behaviour is that?! Later, he gave a monkey in Thailand my open chapstick because he was a fucking idiot. I just looked at him like he was crazy but he honestly convinced me I was insane a…

I have dated Muslims and I have been to a ‘traditional’ double wedding. The double wedding was us waiting until 6 am for the two married couples to have sex. The more important part was that there was bleeding somewhere from the new wives. The most ironic/funny/sad thing was that one of the grooms was my ex-boyfriend. I heard him having sex with his 18 year old new wife. It didn’t bother me other than the fact that his new wife was 18 and an angel. I met her the next day and she had so many oppo…

Sooo many of those people said that FDS was like a red pill sub. I have never been on any incel subs but I really had to think if I was genuinely crazy. I mean, gaslighting is quite a common issue with men so I am not entirely surprised 😅 It is a shame that a lot of men cannot even emphasize with women. I could share my rape and sexual assault experiences and they would still say FDS (and me, for posting to/using said forum) are using men. I am from a culture where men are REQUIRED to pay for da…

This was me too! I deleted the Reddit app and won’t go on popular for awhile. Explaining to this idiots is futile and wastes too much time/effort and energy.

I tried to respond to one seemingly innocuous comment and I realized it is completely futile. Some men just don’t want to even try to comprehend....they just want to mansplain why FDS is so bad 🙄

I would say that yes, Russian women mostly are looking for men who provide and are strong. However, a lot of Russian women are taught that they need to compete for a man (due to the catastrophic loss of life, mainly men, in WWII). Gender roles are extremely rigid and women look after the kids, cook, clean, etc etc. I would also add a lot of single men live with their parents, even in the biggest cities, because renting and buying on most Russian salaries is expensive. There are some things that …

I do this as well. Even worse, I treat every man as he is gay because all my friends are gay 🤷🏻‍♀️ As a result, I have been in very uncomfortable situations where these straight men take my friendliness as flirting. I have starting telling myself that I don’t own anyone anything and protecting myself is first priority. I am so used to some questions that I reply automatically; however, I realized with certain people I need think carefully about my words. Definitely in some aspect, it does make m…

I legit laughed when that guy said move to Paris for a better dating pool 😂 As someone who lived in Paris for awhile, I would not want to date a Parisian man ever again. The US dating scene is a bit worse (at least I found in my early 20s in a major city) than in Europe, but there are still plenty of NVM and LVM here. Move but move for yourself!

Unfortunately, in my dad’s office when I was young, this and scantily clad women on postcards were the norm. I really hope this has changed in most places because I def know NOW that it made me sexualise women at a wayyyy too young age. Boomer male humor needs to die out.

Good for you for speaking up! That happened to me a few years when I was 23 and I completely froze. People saw and stared at me in the metro glass doors with sympathy but no one did anything :(

I don’t have any qualifications in nutrition or exercise. I would just recommend macro training and there is a good calculator here. There is a fb group associated with that website who can do macro checks and support. I personally love eating fats (peanut butter, avocado, butter...) but high-carb, low fat and high protein work the best for me.

Definitely! I started watching Paul Revelia’s YT videos and online trained with one of his coaches. I didn’t enjoy everything, however eating 1800 calories a day and losing fat was so empowering! I could have cake as long as I weighed it and I stopped feeling guilty! Before that, I was starving myself during the day and just eating in the evening (after working out). I look back at my past self and wonder what tf I was thinking 🤔 I wish women could discover how powerful they can be (mentally and…

I recommend following Sohee Lee, Alyssa Olenik and the Michelles (iifym_meesh and madlymish) on Instagram! They are all quite petite and kickass. Alyssa is a PHD. When I started bodybuilding, I did Jamie Eason’s program and it worked really well (although it was too much for me, personally). I have had a lot of macro and pts’ that have been men and I usually am disappointed with the results. They generally don’t understand the hormonal shifts I go through (they try but just say, it gets better, …

This happens to me as well. Most of my friends are gay men so sometimes straight men perceive me as flirting with them. I am not at all. In my mind, they are gay too😆 Be careful out there. I was actively talking to a guy who later I found out was MARRIED with a one year old!! We were talking for six months, meaning that his wife just gave birth six months ago and he was hitting up other women 🤮

Honestly, I tried with my friend. Even in my pickme days, I would never ever ditch my friends for a guy. She ditched me multiple times for different guys. However, my friend is from a very conservative culture where getting married and having kids is required. I know this definitely played into her behaviour, but last year I had to cut my losses (a friendship of 8 years!!) because she was being so disrespectful. You can try talking to your friend about how her decision hurt you. Don’t even make …

I feel the same way. Have you thought to maybe foster a cat or dog in your area? Animals always cheer me up when I am lonely. Also, language learning is great too! You can always do language exchanges online in the comfort of your home. With covid, it definitely has been hard. I cut a lot of my friend out recently and realized that most of my current friends are toxic to me at this moment. It is a depressing realization :( but I am trying to stay busy.

I wanted to say this as well! I would be 100% creeped out if a man I started recently seeing started touching my shoulders without asking. I had straight male friends do this or say they are good at massages in hopes of hooking up 🤮

As a Russian, it is quite different culturally from the west ! However, that isn’t an excuse to be a dick. There are Russian men out there who will go the extra mile for their woman. Sorry to hear about your friend’s LVM.

Personally, I HATED HATED face and body hair as a young kid. As soon as I could, I did waxing and a few years ago, I started lasering. I am not as bothered by body hair as before, probably because getting older (26). However, it has become super normal for me to be hairless and my hair grows back fairly uneven and light because of the laser. I grew out my armpit hair during isolation and at some point, i got real fed up with it, so i shaved it. I am assuming my preference has come from media/soc…

Hard agree. I was travelling last year and did a distillery tour. I randomly met a 60 year old (at least) dude who was from the same city as me. Naturally, we had some stuff in common. It never ever ever ever crossed my mind as a 26 year old, that he was flirting with me at some point. I immediately viewed him as like a grandpa, not a potential love interest. We met up for drinks the day after, where he asked me my relationship status, and told me he is married but their relationship is open. An…

You are doing fine! I always say it is better to be single than settle. I work in conservative countries where I am constantly asked about marriage and kids. It even got to the point of hiring an escort as my long-term boyfriend to shut up my work colleagues. Just keep living your life - have some social hobbies, learn a language, better yourself for you and find people who push you to be your best self too.
