Right?? Inclusion is an admirable ideal, but when it runs roughshod over, you know, womanhood as well as basic science, I take exception.

I got downvoted on another sub because I objected to the use of the phrase “non-men”. As if women are only an absence of man-ness. I hate this future.

Hard same. I told him so recently. He just nodded in agreement and poured me a glass of wine.

This resonates SO MUCH for me. Same here: formerly obese pickme, and somehow magically my drive to get Validation ™ via men’s desire for me evaporated as soon as I got my weight and health under control. Nothing left to prove.

I appreciate your thought there, but marketing myself isn’t super applicable in my situation. I’m a highly skilled technician with union representation. Which is to say I make as much as double the non-union hourly in my area, I have health insurance and paid vacation, and I never go looking for work—it finds me, and I’m as busy as I want to be. I’m actually in a great spot. Aaaaand, he’s a high-level director in an industry that’s universally valued, so he’s just going to make more on his salar…

He makes a lot more money than I do, the result of my being in the arts. He spends money freely on himself, and also wouldn’t ever begrudge me doing so for myself, but I have been feeling for a while that I need some separate money of my own. Question is, where to start? Should I get my own checking account first? Or sav…

What a long, complicated journey it’s been to realize I was a pickme and pull myself out of it, because I was both bullied as a kid and groomed by horrible older dudes, to desperately need the sexual attention of men and believe it was love.

Fellow long-time aircraft mechanic here. Echoing the above. I love some of my brothers, but I wouldn’t date them. There are a few gems out there. And by “a few,” I mean I can think of exactly one I’ve known over 21 years. The PickMeisha-ness of mil spouses is rrrrreal.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
