This is a great post & a great reminder as I think 40-50% of our battle is chemical.

Pretty simple - The bar is where drunk men sit & rant & ogle any babe in the bar. They resent you for having what the babe they want at the moment. So get a table next time.

Read your Bible, find a church that believes what it says & your eyes will be opened.

I learned that too - Bible reading is dangerous to religion.

Nice post - it's timely too considering my pastor just covered Ephesians & bent over backwards on the wives submission part

Great post - I remember as a kid I thought I'd have to marry an ugly Christian woman - thank God I was so wrong. Then as I read the Bible, I was struck how often beauty was noted. And the thing I would add is the Bible typically understates things so they were likely more beautiful than we imagine.

I am thankful Godly men like you are asking such questions. WhereProgressIsMade made some great points. All I would add is I love my church, serve there, love the people like family but leadership frequently reads the Bible out of context, as if they Google'd it & build a sermon on it - even when they're summary of it runs contrary to other scriptures. I wish we'd simply read the Bible. Start @ Genesis & proceed. Would not miss a minute of it when we hit Song of Solomon! ;-) No more sermons on c…

Thank you for sharing. The only comment I can add is I've found a lot of peace in praying 'Lord, reveal to me what you want me to know. I will trust You to do this. I will not live in paranoia but in praise. '

Great question. Here we have the NextDoor app which allows you to post questions to your neighbors. I would make sure wherever you go the Bible is read & taught in it's entirety.

When I hear a pastor enter the area of giving the cynic in me wonders if this is a fundraiser ;-) Does seed mean anything other than $$$. That aside, quick answers - Does God not move in west Africa regardless? Yes, of course (and why is it always Africa? I say focus on your own area - see & fill needs in your neighborhood. Jesus said 'love your neighbor' - Could God can even work in west Texas??? ;-) ) Was Abraham's test not a true test? I would guess it was a true test but God doesn't take sho…

You are reading too much into it and you're in your head. Dont let him occupy your mind a minute longer. And remember impressions are temporary. Stay in the ring. Keep fighting, improving. You may lose a battle this week and win next week. But keep working.

Interesting question & thanks for sharing the link. Your statement ' Hell bother's me a whole lot. ' I agree with. However, I think of this way... The Bible says God's mercy endures forever so consider this... What if being in Hell is actually merciful compared to what Heaven would be, for a sinful person? For example a fish may desire to be on land, to drive, to shop or to play video games. But for a fish to do that would be deadly since it's not acclimated to breathe on the land. A sinful pers…

Considering how pastors are afraid to address what's obviously happening, I think a home church movement would be an improvement from where we are now. Many oppressive & tyrannical countries have a thriving home church movement & I think a bold home church, band of brothers type of movement would be inspiring for men, especially. I wonder tho, how does a home church handle loud or disobedient kids? Gossiping? Flirtatious spouses? Parking? Avoid guru worship? Disagreements between leaders or inte…

I'm concerned - even if this passes soon, nothing will ever be the same. This may be the beginning of something much larger than we can imagine. Being prepared makes sense. Home churches may be a great alternative.

Hello brutha - not sure I totally understand your question but my 2 cents; 1st, if she left you, you are not committing adultery if you move on to another relationship. 2nd, I believe when spouses blow up a relationship & burn every bridge to get what they want - they reveal who they are & you should believe them. She's revealed her character, she left you, ignore her, move on & pursue God's vision for your life. MGTOW is not a great idea & an overreaction. If you meet someone you like, be open …

What helped me was finally understanding how it was weakening me & how much better life is when you get a sense of your masculinity. I was challenged to go 90 days w/out it & went cold turkey. I do have some triggers on the web but close my browser & walk away when I get tempted.

very beta + low SV in his wife's eyes. My guess would be this response would wind up backfiring. .. You're right - sometimes I would suggest trying something different to shake things up but may be a little too much given the current SV - thanks!

My 2.... Given the Old Testament recommends using the tithe for a feast, including drinking a strong drink (Deuteronomy 14:26) & Jesus' first miracle, turning water into wine, IMO, it's not the moment you're more than tipsy that you are sinning. It's that you're more likely to commit a sin once you become drunk.

When I first started working out years ago, my wife got a flat tire, so I met her & changed it. I had a nice dress shirt on so I took it off; thinking here's a chance to show the results of my workouts & she'd be impressed. Then I caught my reflection in the car window & saw roles of fat in my belly! Needless to say, it was humbling but I've made a lot of progress since. Keep going brutha.

When we share about Jesus with others, they develop a perception of who he is and they worship that perception. When they meet the real Jesus on Judgment Day are they going to be able to say, "Yep, that's him. That's the guy I loved and worshiped all my life!" Or are they going to say, "Who are you? You're not at all what I imagined," to which he'll respond, Yeah, because you were never actually worshiping ME in the first place. Wow - great analogy. Thank you

I didn't read all of this but I think I get the idea. I've always thought Jacob was probably beta yet God started the nation of Israel with him so I think that alone puts a significant flaw in that concept.
