I do realize there are varying degrees of female circumcision, but isn't the practice of removing the girl's "hood" the exact same thing as removing the male's foreskin? There is no difference in bathing an infant boy who is not circumcised compared with one who is. | 5 | Thanks to you, Reddit, I canceled my son's circumcision today.the point is that in countries where contraception is not abundant and readily available, and personal hygiene is not common (e.g. is there sufficient clean water, do people bathe regularly, and are they educated on cleaning the penis specifically) there is evidence that suggests circumcision is helpful in protecting against some diseases.
