| 5 | Female applicants to be given preference for firefighting jobs: "preference in selection will be given to female applicants assessed as suitable" Male teacher applicants in elementary education are expected to remain silent.In the USA we have BFOQ laws which stands for Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications. They are a blessing in situations like these and they provide legal protection for certain forms of discrimination. I'm a hard believer in "If you're qualified, then you're qualified." as a vague general guiding principle.
