Some other examples might be good to have. Roberto the autistic man, in his 30s with a terribly poor employment history due to social anxiety and inferiority complexes, what about him? I rarely-if-ever see him come up. "Roberto" chooses to hide instead of engage in life. Nobody even knows Roberto because he sleeps all day, stays up all night, and doesn't socialize with other people outside of his house. There are no stories about him because there are no stories to tell, because he never actuall…

I try to ask "where is the evidence, that a mega hard-case can find anyone, within reason?" Confirmation bias. It's a thing. Look it up. You don't want to see the evidence, you want to stick your head up your ass so far that you can't see it, so that you can stay in your safe little cocoon where the big, bad world can't get you and where you pat yourself on the back for being right about everything. If you want evidence, how about actually believing the people who deal with anxiety and autism an…

Can confirm. Sometimes the dudes with the big ones think that's all it takes and they can rely on that alone to please someone. They could not be more wrong.

Well, I don't really hang around here much. But I am curious as to what indicators you're on the lookout for and aren't seeing that would confirm someone's interest.

how to process an adequate response/avoid utter stupidity once I open my mouth. Well shit, if you figure that out, please let me know. I need some definite help in that area. I dunno, I just can't stand being this way. I remember far too many of the (many) flubs I've had over the years, usually things I said that were just incredibly stupid. But what does it matter? Who is keeping this score? Only you. Who is obsessing over this? Only you. So you're quirky, big deal! People will still like you.

Maybe you could have a talk with this guy, then? ;) Been tryin'... Haha Maybe you could make some progress where others have not been able to Eh, that I'm not so sure about.

Well mostly like people say here there will be some indicators of interest. And so far I've never had any indicator of interest before. A) There is a difference between attraction and interest. Just because someone is good looking doesn't mean you necessarily want to date or sleep with them. B) What are these indicators you speak of?

How do you know if someone considers you attractive? Like, literally, how do you tell? I have a good number of female friends, but I don't think I would wan to ask them such a weird question. Women ask each other that sort of stuff all the time. It's incredibly common for women to get other women's opinion on... well, everything. Like "Do my boobs look lopsided?" is not a weird question at all from one female to another. Shit, I've had random female strangers ask me more personal things than whe…

I never asked anyone in person if they think I'm attractive. I would ask some of my female friends but again some are either taken/in a relationship or married. You're certain that you're well below average in appearance, and you're basing that off of never having asked anyone for their input? Dude. That is some really bad logic. If you have female friends, definitely ask them what they think of your looks (genetics), your look (presentation) and your personality. Don't concern yourself with the…

I'm a woman that's been lurking around this thread and I'm really curious as well. I'd be more than happy to give you some honest female feedback, if you like.

I just do a lot of things differently, and apparently the concept that another autistic person should be able to understand me better, it hasn't worked very well so far :/ I think we're better able to understand in the sense of having compassion for the fact that we have social limitations. However, I'd imagine that since we struggle to connect with and understand others, we'd be less likely to actually connect with ease with a fellow autistic than we would with an NT. One autistic person's devi…

You (in your original post): The thing is, what would/could I have done, in this situation? Me (earlier): if you don't plan to patronize that business again in the near future, you could leave your number with The check. (If you do plan to go back in the near future, especially if it's someplace you go often, like a coffee shop, it can make things super awkward when you see her again. Plus if you're going back soon, you can talk to her more then.) Definitely don't ask her out before the moment w…

I'm not saying she wasn't attracted to you, and I'm not saying she wasn't flirting. I'm saying that guys are notorious for being "so sure!" that the girl is into them when said girl is just trying to get through her shift and make money. It's just really easy to misread that kind of situation and can make the server feel really awkward. I will revise my "don't give her your number," and say that if you don't plan to patronize that business again in the near future, you could leave your number wi…

Servers are often super nice (and sometimes quite flirty) because that's how they get good tips. Unless you piss off your server, she's gonna do her best to be charming, and you can be charming right back. But remember, that flirtatious charm isn't for you as an individual, it's for you as a customer who pays her bills. Here's how to have a good time with your server (or stripper, or barista, any other person who's flirting with you while they're working): ❌ Don't ask for her number. Don't give …

it's worth believing the majority of women who say that's the only thing they want... Which women are these that are saying that? If the majority of women only wanted relationships, Tinder/hookup culture wouldn't be a thing. And it is definitely a thing.

I like the people I fuck. Doesn't mean we're gonna live together or get married. Doesn't mean we have to be exclusive. Sometimes people just like fucking people that they like. Quit listening to every asshat on the internet. Most of them are full of shit.

Nah. I was fucking guys in their 40s when I was 17. It was never about money, it was just for fun. Hell, lots of guys take that long to figure out how to be a considerate and giving partner.
