As a really low-status woman (disabled/very poor), honestly, yeah. I can't relate to like 95% of the stuff other women post here. I do everything in my power to make a guy's life as good as possible, I try to minimize my boundaries, and I do my best to avoid expressing my needs or desires because I know I'm the replaceable one (and I have been replaced frequently.) I'm the ultimate people-pleaser in a relationship.

Raised Methodist, attended Baptist and Mennonite churches throughout my youth, attended nondenominational/charismatic churches as a young adult, now as an adult I am back to a Methodist church, though I frequently visit Presbyterian and Disciples of Christ churches as well. I have also started reading Anglican and Jesuit apologetics which are further shaping my theology. All that is to say: Methodist, but it's not that simple.

I have faith in my church's position, and I find it aligns most with my understanding compared to other churches I've experienced. But given the existence of so many other churches/theologies, it feels foolish to call my church "objective" when I have no way of confirming that objectivity, and when so many others would disagree with it.

But you don't believe Protestants are correct. Nor the Orthodox Church, I imagine.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/25 10:30 PM
2

My opinion on that isn't relevant. My point is: even within Christianity, there's tremendous disagreement over what the truth is. Both sides will stand firm in their belief that they are correct, while proclaiming that the other side is incorrect. Both are functioning through the lens of their respective faiths.

I'm obviously referencing the counter-reformation inquisition of the 1540s.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/25 09:42 AM

During the inquisition, were the Catholics objectively true, or was it the Protestants?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/25 09:37 AM

I do believe that. And my belief in that is subjective. A Muslim doesn't agree with it. A Hindu person doesn't agree with it. A Buddhist person doesn't agree with it. An atheist doesn't agree with it. Even other Christians might not agree with it.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/25 09:05 AM

Just because I personally believe something is right doesn't make it objective. Religion is a bias. Any belief system is a bias.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/25 08:58 AM

How can you say it's objective if other people don't believe or agree with it?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/25 08:52 AM

My moral compass is based on what I believe God commands. I don't know if that's true for you or anyone else. Your moral compass might not be the same as mine. Lots of people aren't Christian.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/06/25 08:47 AM

I'm anything but a nihilist. I'm a Christian so I believe there is a God-given purpose to my life, and indeed to all of our lives. My individual moral compass is strong, I believe in the power of grace, mercy, and compassion. However I don't believe that I can call my version of right versus wrong "objective."

It's more a matter of being able to present their own thoughts independent of mine. They ought to be able to put together a thesis. Indicate some degree of critical thinking/insight. Ask questions about the information and opinions I present. Offer counterpoints or alternate perspectives, or if they truly agree, then explain why. What's the root of the opinion? What shaped the belief for them? Anyone who "happens to agree with everything I say" is either lying to me, or they're too dense to form…

Two seconds of googling: first one is Rick Ross. Second one is XXXtentacion. All you have to do is copy and paste the lyrics into a search bar.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/06/25 11:57 AM

But that doesn't answer the question. Who set that? What philosophy/religion is it based upon? At what point was it deemed to be objective? What criteria was used to determine the objectivity?

Values can't be objective. They aren't neutral and they aren't free from bias. They're shaped by experience/culture/society/etc., and even beyond that you can't guarantee that everyone experiencing the same things will arrive at the same set of values. Values can be held by majorities, but they are still subjective. Do I believe that forcibly impregnating women wrong? Yes. But that is my subjective opinion. All opinions are inherently subjective by their very definition. I would not say it is "o…

This still involves feelings/morals/ethics (inherently subjective by definition.) Sensitivity/insensitivity cannot be objectively measured. Suffering cannot be objectively measured. Values cannot be objectively measured. Again, I agree with your sentiment, but your use of "an objective point of view" is questionable given that we are discussing subjects that by definition have no factual measurements to provide that objectivity. There are lots of people who do not share the values the have expre…

I agree with you, but that's my subjective opinion on the matter. I'm asking how it was determined to be an objective fact.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/25 09:34 AM

Can you elaborate on "from an objective point of view"? How has the objectivity of your perspective on this matter been established and confirmed? I don't watch true crime or enjoy it at all so I have no skin in this particular game, but after reading through the post, I'd like to understand more about how the apparent objectivity in question was arrived at and how the parameters were set.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/06/25 09:28 AM

Right, I totally get that and appreciate it, but now we're back to my original point - in a sea full of dating app users, it's difficult to make myself swipe right on someone who seemingly shares none of my interests. They might actually share some of them, sure. But I'd rather keep looking for someone who advertises the fact that they're on my wavelength, versus having to dig for that information.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 01:17 AM

That's why I said I understand. It's just sad to think there might be guys I'd get along with really well out there, but they're hiding behind "I like breweries and hiking" or other flags that make me assume we have nothing in common.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/06/25 12:56 AM

I think about this a lot when it comes to online dating. I'm arguably the kind of woman that nerdy men would like to be in a relationship with. I love video games, anime, figurines, sci-fi/fantasy, etc. and I prioritize men's profiles where they explicitly list these interests...which is shockingly difficult to find. Profiles that enthusiastically embrace nerdy stuff are almost nonexistent. I know some of the generic profiles are probably into those things, just based on how common those interes…

Or just do what I do: be fat and refuse to interact with men. Won't socialize with them, won't let them touch me, will always treat them with the level of resentment I know every single one of them holds for me. I'll never have to worry about being used as a hole.

No. I have a disability that makes carrying/having a child really dangerous for me, plus I'm on medication that would fuck the embryo up. So unless he wants to potentially kill me or end up with a deformed baby, he really, really, really shouldn't put anything in my womb. Hopefully he'd be smart enough to use somebody else's womb.

This always makes me laugh because honestly at age 19 I was greasy/awkward/covered in acne/hadn't lost my baby fat. Ate like shit and didn't take care of any part of my body. I looked like slop.

I don't understand why you think I'm a feminist. I'm a conservative Christian with traditional values. You can either try to find joy in life, or you can't. Those are the only options.

You can either build your life around chasing things that are entirely outside of your control, or you can focus on things that make your life better that are attainable. You may not end up having your biological needs met...oh well. Your choices are to roll over and die, or figure out how to live a good life in spite of that.

It just makes it hard to have a meaningful and genuine dialogue with you. Earlier you told me that you were tired of comments that aren't operating in good faith, which I absolutely understand...but is it considered good faith to say the person talking to you is lying without any evidence of such, and thus refuse to engage with their perspective? If someone is presenting an alternate perspective, shutting it down by saying it's a lie does not indicate respect towards their perspective, nor does …

This is a debate sub. What sort of responses are you seeking in context of that? "Yes, I fully agree with all of your positions. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to post this"? If you do not want dissenting opinions, why are you commenting here?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/25 04:47 PM

"Why is it that when I argue that women don't like gaming, some women point out that they do like gaming?" If you don't want replies to the point you're arguing, why are you even participating in this sub? Just go write it in your journal or something instead.

It's still not something I want to interact with. I believe that the more you watch something, the more "boring" it becomes to you, and algorithms tempt you into more extreme content. Even if someone is not into the dominant/violent aspect at the time, they've opened the door for such things in their recommendations. Apart from that, the bottom line is that they're engaging in a fetish I don't share and am not willing to participate in, so they should go find someone who will do it with them. Th…

Can I ask why 200lbs specifically is used so frequently when hypothetically discussing women's weight? What is it about 200lbs that becomes symbolically important, and makes it distinct from a value like 195lbs?

I don't understand why men keep saying "what about women?" when the very topic of this thread is about the porn men watch. The title specifies "guys." Women are responding to the question as it was asked.

I am a very low-maintenance woman in many ways - no makeup, I don't style my hair, I don't care about clothes, I don't like shopping and I'm very frugal, I don't tend to demand anything from my partners in terms of affection/attention (I really like being left alone). I don't like high-effort courtship because it strikes me as fake and goofy. But with that I have my own set of expectations. I will make your life easier in many ways, and in return I expect you to make my life easier in many ways.…

Then you ought to pick a word with a definition that suits what you're trying to say. Most, many, lots of, the majority, a significant amount, or even simply "women" without the modifier would likely lead readers to assume you did not mean "all." Typing "all," however, does lead readers to assume you mean "all," since it has a very specific definition and was presumably added as an intentional choice on your part. You failed to convey what you meant to convey, which is fine. It happens to all of…

The thread asks "Does it matter what kind of porn a guy watches?" In response to this question, women are discussing men watching porn, and women are sharing which types of porn would matter to them (in context of men watching which, again, is the very spine of the thread as per the title.) If you want to discuss which gender predominantly consumes which type of pornography, make a thread about that.

I said I would stop being friends with both men and women who are interested in this type of pornography. I don't see how that qualifies as a double standard. Will you please point out where you believe I demonstrated this double standard and where I supposedly acknowledged it?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/25 12:33 PM

But how do I avoid that simmering resentment? I'd rather just pay for myself and not risk being despised.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/25 03:31 AM

Question: while I agree that you should split the check on the first date, how should a woman handle it if the man insists on paying? How much are you supposed to insist that he doesn't pay for you? After a few back-and-forths it feels awkward.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/25 03:19 AM

I see a problem with all types of pornography. It's all immoral by my personal compass. My opinion doesn't impact you though. If you like tentacle porn, have at it, I don't care.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/06/25 12:52 AM

If the kind of porn you like is important to you then just find other people who are into it. Doesn't matter whether I think it's bad or not. Edit: I just saw your edit about animals. I'm not gonna get into a discussion about that stuff. It's illegal for a reason.

Horror movies desensitize us to violence and gore. Porn desensitizes us to the abuse of other human's bodies. Anything we watch enough of begins to feel "normal" and, as you stated yourself, makes tamer things seem far more boring. If people still want to watch such things, that's fine. They're free to do so. And I'm free to not be friends with them. And life goes on.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/06/25 11:57 PM

Why does it matter if someone else is or is not okay with your fantasies? To me, it seems like it's just a matter of finding people who like the things you like, and avoiding the people who don't like those things.

I would absolutely drop female friends who liked that type of porn. It's a clear indication that we do not share the same values. I firmly believe that we become what we behold, and that extends to the type of media we consume. I know others don't believe that, but I prefer not to associate with them. They'd probably prefer not to associate with me either...I'm too prudish/dour for most folks. If a man wants to consume violent/aggressive porn, he can do that. We don't need to date, nor do we nee…

Besides the obvious illegal/immoral stuff, I would not want to be with a man who watches BDSM, any type of torture/violence, noncon/reluctance, or anything overly aggressive. I think all porn is inherently destructive, but anything aggressive reinforces a neural connection of "sex = violence" which imo makes him untrustworthy. I'm honestly not sure what I would stand to gain from a connection with more men. Someone to hang out with? Someone to talk to once in a while? I have an otherwise healthy social life so I don't know what connections with men specifically might add to it. Every decision I make in life shuts the door on countless great experiences, while opening the door for others. I'm not sure it's worth mourning the ones I missed out on.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/25 04:38 PM

I no longer engage with men socially. I will be politely friendly in public, and I will interact with them as situations require, but I will not establish connections or attempt to build relationships. I have been on the internet long enough to see what some men think about women. Knowing which men they are in real life is not always possible - therefore I believe it is safest to remove myself from men's presence as much as is feasible.Throughout every interaction, I keep in mind that the man in…

An example of a single mother having a seven year old child is not an "extreme" argument. Having children grow up is a very normal part of raising children. The existence of said children is necessary to the existence of single mothers, so why would you only be talking about adults?

The negligence in question needs to be defined before it can be properly analyzed.

I imagine it depends on the degree and type of negligence. I firmly believe that for the most part, we can only truly be responsible for ourselves. In the case of children, yes parents are responsible for their safety to some extent, but there are practical difficulties in ensuring that any other human is safe from harm 100% of the time.

If you don't believe there's been a shift in social temperature trending towards more conservatism and traditionalism, and if you don't see the ways in which the evangelical movement has shaped the current political landscape, I don't really know what to tell you.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/25 06:26 PM

Very untrue if you come from a conservative/religious area. I'd also argue that the rise of evangelical Christianity in the West and the turn towards conservatism means that it is becoming a fairly widespread sentiment again, albeit slowly. (I cannot speak to the rise of Orthodoxy but it is becoming more popular amongst young men and I imagine that this type of family structure is also pushed in that environment. Same with Islam, I don't know specifics but I understand that it is growing signifi…

So all of our experiences ultimately hold no weight in this conversation. As I stated earlier, I believe the willingness to take responsibility does not fall along gendered lines whatsoever and comes down to individual disposition, personality, upbringing, etc. Men and women are just as likely to take responsibility or avoid it.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/25 06:11 PM

Earlier in this thread, you stated: For me the experience is 100% opposite, every man I meet almost argues with me about taking responsibility. “I did this, sorry” “no it was me who fuck up, sorry”. Meanwhile every woman I’ve met and dated takes the off-road path to even begin an apology Why is your personal anecdotal evidence applicable but other anecdotal evidence is not? What's the separating factor?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/25 06:06 PM

You yourself said "Yes? I’m not sure if you’re serious but in every relationship argument ends with the man apologising. There’s literally an old advice from men to learn to apologise to your wife even if you’re right" You presented that as evidence in favor of your position. If apologizing is not necessarily connected to accountability and is not a relevant factor for this discussion, why did you bring it up yourself as part of this discussion?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/25 05:58 PM

I'd like to explore this line of thinking a bit further, if you don't mind. If, as you assert, we should be able to find 1% blame "everywhere" for every victim: I was three years old when I was sexually abused by my father. As a three year old child, what would you say is my 1% blame? What behavior do you imagine I might have engaged in to seduce my father or encourage his actions? What is your proposed solution for how I might have avoided the situation, or how I might have defended myself agai…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/25 05:45 PM

And there's advice given to women to defer/submit to your husband, apologize and accept his assertion even if you disagree, be meek and gentle and don't argue with him. Some people apologize a lot. Some people are more aggressive and don't apologize at all. To say it's gendered behavior is absolutely ridiculous. It's entirely based on individual disposition and socialization.

It doesn't say they aren't good, but it does imply their abject failure to contribute in a time of great need. There's a difference between being good and doing what is right, kind, brave. "Goodness" can exist separate from action, yes. But you can be a "good man" who is also a useless man that doesn't stick up for what is right. You can be a "good man" who contributes nothing to the shape or structure of society. You can be a "good man" who allows people to die, who allows suffering to exist, w…

"Having money, power, and status will ALWAYS trump being a good man for SOME women" - but why do men want to be with those women? Do you they exhibit strong character? Do their values align with yours? Do you think they'd be a good loving partner, a good mother to your children? When you envision growing old with a woman, do you picture a woman who has spent her life chasing money/power/status? That's where I get confused. Yes, some women do that, you're absolutely right...and if you don't want …

And likewise, I can decide how much I care about the fact that penises are being discussed. What's the point of this, if we're all just working in a downwards spiral of "I don't care"?

/r/PurplePillDebate30/05/25 04:09 AM

This is why I don't understand men complaining about being lonely. If they cannot find a way to value a platonic relationships and they cannot connect with women without thinking about the women sexually, they're creating this loneliness for themselves.

Okay, see, this is the information that I wanted. And partially what I suspected...it's fascinating how we take the empty space of an anecdote and construct a work of fiction to fill in the blanks. I did not struggle because you do not believe that I struggled. The imaginary person you've been talking to certainly didn't struggle, based on the life you crafted for her. But anyway, thank you for finally answering. I am sorry it took so long to get here. I need to sharpen my direct communication s…

There seems to be some misunderstanding in this exchange, which I believe may be due to my autism. I am not seeking validation but rather attempting to understand the flow of your logic. The conversation as I see it went as follows; You: The women I know who struggled in dating are Example A and Example B. Based on these examples, you can safely conclude that the only women who struggle in dating make poor decisions. Me: I would like to present an alternate example because I struggled in dating …

I apologize. It's clear that people in this thread are quite angry with me. I didn't mean to cause any issues.

None of this explains why your two examples of women qualify as "struggles" but I'm hashtag blessed compared to them.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/25 04:42 PM

I was sexually abused by my father and struggled to connect with people all my life. I despised myself all through my adolescence. But you will reject this answer and construct whatever narrative you'd like about me. Due to that unshakable narrative and your belief that my life has never been difficult, this was a pointless attempt at conversation on my part and I apologize for the interaction. Have a nice day.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/25 04:22 PM

But the first woman you listed as an example had a partner she was presumably dating if he was that deeply involved in her decision-making processes and lifestyle. What's your threshold for qualifying as "struggle"? Defining that would be incredibly helpful for this conversation. Mostly to understand why both your examples qualify as struggles but mine doesn't - and why according to your prior comment, the "relatively average male dating experience" does not actually qualify as a struggle when p…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/25 03:09 PM

One of the women who you said struggled to date slept with 1000 men. I suppose I am confused by your definition of "struggling" if she qualifies but I don't.

Kyphosis aka hunchback
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/25 03:02 PM

Just to add a slightly different perspective re: your last sentence, I struggled with dating for quite a long time and I'm your stereotypical "good girl." I think of myself as a cautious and thoughtful individual who doesn't make terrible decisions. But I have a physical deformity that prevents most men from considering me as a prospect. It took years of getting rejected for me to finally connect with a man who seems to accept my condition and who can see beyond my limitations.

Yeah, I'm sure AI companies will continue to relax rules as much as they're able, and of course they know censorship frustrates a significant portion of their user base...but we're also in the midst of US legislatures pushing for more laws against explicit content (and laws that widen the definition of "explicit" or what form that content takes) so that could create some interesting friction in the coming years, to say the least. Your 4th point is what will really make all the difference though.…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/25 01:35 AM

The big sticking point: tech companies will continue to hesitate on the NSFW component because they want ad revenue/sponsors. Things like AI Dungeon are historically quick to devolve into pedophilia and ultimately require strict censorship - without that censorship, few companies are going to be willing to attach their name to the product, and it becomes a PR nightmare, possibly even requiring intervention from legal authorities. Unless men are happy with completely chaste AI girlfriends who shu…

I'm not arguing that they provide anything. I'm asking how their productivity is measured and compared to other sectors since you stated that they've been determined to be the least productive sector of any given company. I just wanted to know how that information was obtained since it seems like it would be difficult to objectively measure.

How is productivity being measured in this context? I'm interested in how exactly that's broken down bertween sectors. Could you link the source for that information please?

It's not unattainable but statistically speaking, you're more likely to encounter people who make less than $100k.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/05/25 05:27 PM

Making over 100k a year sounds incredibly rare to me. I don't think I've ever even known a person who makes over 100k, male or female. But maybe that depends on where you live/the industry you work in. Everyone I know is firmly around 50k.

If men weren't ruled by imaginary obligations, it's not only women who wouldn't have rights/privileges. Men who weren't considered to be of peak physical capability wouldn't have theirs either. Men who showed any sign of weakness or failure would be destroyed. Men often imply that they're all capable of surviving the complete collapse of civilization. That is more or less what people tell rape victims, yeah. What are you arguing exactly?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/25 07:59 AM

I guess I don't understand what you're arguing here. That women should be less selective and suck more dicks, because not sucking enough dicks makes them frigid blue-haired liberal feminists? So is indiscriminate dick-sucking preferable?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/25 06:35 AM

What about women who aren't promiscuous for religious or value-based regions? How is that still considered liberal bs?

Sure, it's disingenuous. People are disingenuous all the time. People screw each other over all the time. If you're worried about getting screwed over, don't sleep with anyone. If someone doesn't want to accept the possibility of creating and being responsible for a child, that person should not have sex. Full stop. I have autism. I'm a very skilled observationist. And where I'm from, friendly community connection and small talk is the normal pattern. People are kind to workers.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/25 12:19 PM

This whole premise is so confusing to me. I make small talk with cashiers or other workers. I ask them how they are. I smile, I joke with them, I tell them to have a nice day, I recognize them if I'm a regular at a store and I connect with them/learn things about their lives. I see similar friendly interactions all the time. How is that not seeing them as people?

I don't have any height preference - I have dated men ranging from 5'3" to 6'1" (I am 5'7"). I think baldness is incredibly attractive if paired with a good style, and as someone who dates men in their 40s I don't give a second thought to a receding hairline. I prefer men who have a job, the specific income does not matter - I just select for work ethic and sense of responsibility. Plenty of my female friends are similar to me. We have diverse standards. Nobody ever seems to believe that though.
