There's very rarely physical evidence in these kinds of cases, just by the very nature of the act. Does that always mean it didn't happen?

that's all?

I'm not talking about female teachers right now. The issue here is Bill Cosby. There are lots of heinous things done by women that are as bad and worse. Those should be condemned. This conversation is not about all the bad things women do in other situations... it's about Bill Cosby. I mentioned Bill Cosby. Goober then said, how about female teachers raping children! You don't say anything about that! ...well, why would I? We're talking about Bill's situation specifically. It's literally the ver…

much more recently than that.

you're just swinging wildly now. You seem emotional. Is it that time of the month...?

never said it was the best comparison. It was just to say that doing good things doesn't mean your bad deeds can't cancel them out.

This doesn't have anything to do with me. Just because a person has done some good things, it doesn't mean they haven't also done worse things... things that were bad enough that their good things become less relevant when considering them as a whole, as a rounded person. Here's an admittedly drastic example: If a politician pulled their country up economically after really being down and out, but then later committed a genocide... would that person still be a hero?

I rearranged something? I didn't edit my post. You seem to have misread it. The only person who brought another idea (women raping men, etc) into the conversation was you. I didn't try to associate Cosby with any of that... you did. I'm not making any gender arguments. You are. I'm trying to stay focused on Cosby, while you've gone off on tangents about women committing crimes and so on (and baselessly accusing me of various things along the way - further sidetracking things). Your Whataboutism …

You keep talking about me like you know anything about me. You don't. If you will allow me one generalization, it's people like you who are impossible to talk to because they think they know everything from the start. You also lack comprehension skills. I never accused you of saying that it's okay for women to do bad things because Cosby did. No idea where you got that, but from the general piffle you wrote, it seems you will just write anything to fit your pre-formulated argument.

You know almost nothing about me. I am totally against and do speak out against anyone who commits sexual assault or rape, no matter the gender. You're opinion of me in this regard is totally without merit. Your argument is essentially saying that what Cosby did is fine because women do bad things too. That's childish.

Shock! Breaking news! Humans lie, male or female. Some studies actually suggest men might lie more. I don't care, anyway. Point is... saying all women lie is redundant, like it would be if you said the same about men.

A martyr for what? He's been a creep for a long time. Those in the industry knew this, it was an open secret... even if they didn't know the extent of his actions. He was known for being very different from his public persona, and not just with regards to the assault stuff. He would bag on other comics behind the scene and hold them down from getting opportunities if he felt their comedy wasn't to his taste (i.e. he wanted clean comedy only). Publicly he'd pretend to love them however. A martyr …

Lots and lots of people in the entertainment industry knew about Bill being a total creep. They may not have known the extent of his crimes, but few people who knew him were surprised. It was an open secret.

I'd wager a large portion of the science community, particularly to do with space science... cares. I'd wager a large portion of educated women would care... and so on. God, I feel like I'm talking to a pre-teen with serious angst issues.

people care. You don't... a possibly most of the folks here. That doesn't represent a significant opinion in general.

It was also a scientific contribution.

Who are you to say that nobody cares? Whether or not people care isn't of direct concern to their importance, btw... as it's a purely subjective measurement.

Except she's not that obscure in the history of women's sporting, and in any case, the argument to be made is that google should be honoring people that are perhaps lesser known but deserve more recognition in the world at large.

There's quite a few. How about the first woman in space? Are you actually suggesting women have made no significant contribution in 84 years? Just off the top of my head... an easy example: Jane Goodall.

it's aggressive to wonder why anyone has a problem with Marie Curie (of all people) being honoured?

well marie curie was a pretty big deal. Have a problem with that?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
