https://www.pewforum.org/religious-landscape-study/generational-cohort/younger-millennial/ According to this study, I think it's fair to assume at least 20% of millennial women would fit your traditional description. All of the religions identified in this study condemn sex before marriage and the following responses indicate that well over 30% of millennials take their religious beliefs seriously: 28% of millennials attend church at least once a week 38% described religion as very important 39%…

So to break it down.. you enjoy the benefits of modern dating- casual sex when you please.. but you will only commit to a woman who adheres to traditional gender roles. "Offering modernity while demanding tradition" You want the best of both worlds.. the very thing you complain women want in this post.

Guys I'm attracted to are usually taller than me. I'm 5'8. If not taller he can still be hot if he is in really good shape- specifically strong big arms and no flabby stomach, and has an attractive face. That means we'll groomed beard/ hair (can be bald if his head is normal looking) straight teeth that are clean/ Clear skin/ normal looking face (meaning mostly symmetrical) I also don't find guys with really thin lips/ no lips particularly attractive. For me I tend to notice a guys arms first- i…

The more risky he got as a viable partner the less attracted I was to him.. not knowing what you're going to do career wise at 22 was fine at 26 if wasn't. So no you're wrong

I don't even need all that. As I mentioned earlier not all my ex's were that attractive. I only mentioned that he was because despite him being so attractive I lost desire cuz he was a man child. He also wasn't particularly exciting or a bad lol. He was socially anxious and played video games for fun.

Completely. My ex is honestly, to me, was the most attractive man I've ever met. He was constantly flocked by women when we were out. And he knew what he was doing in bed. But after years of unequal efforts in our lives it became so hard to desire him. I would even lay it out in basic terms. If I come.home from work and you've cleaned the house went grocery shopping and finished any school work (he regularly procrastinated and begged me to write his papers because he know I could.get it done qui…

I agree. Though I do think it is practical to acknowledge that a certain level of financial stability does in fact make life easier. Affluence certainly does not equal happiness nor does poverty equal despair. Finding a partner who can bring happiness to your life has many other factors than their financial stability. Though, it makes sense to avoid someone who may bring a serious financial burden into the relationship- I'm not saying this is the ethical choice, or that it is fair, or that two p…

In modern times I don't think most folk would be cool with sharing their partner. I also don't think there a severe lack of high value men. Because most women are now financially independent, or capable of being independent, finding a partner who is better off than you isn't the main priority, but it is still appealing. It would be logical to attempt to partner with someone in your own socioeconomic class and everything above. It's more likely you'd end up with someone of similar background but …

This is mostly describing beta bucks. Hypergamy from the redpill view is mostly concerned with looks and social status (usually not the same as social status in a patriarchal society). Men who would traditionally be valuable in patriarchal societies (decent to high income, stable, "respectable" etc) are mostly not the men considered valuable by modern women (unless they also happen to be good looking and/or highly social). I don't really see the big difference though? Social status is usually de…

I disagree. I think men and women both look for someone to enjoy life with. I don't even believe that women as a whole are hypergamous, though as I explained above I believe it's a perfectly rational decision to seek out partners who are financially stable. If you are enjoying your life right now, wouldn't you want a partner who is at least living life at the same standard of quality you already enjoy or perhaps someone who is doing even better than yourself? This would mean you can continue to …

RP does not use the "hypergamy" in it's literal "textbook" sense. RP discusses it from the "sexual arousal" standpoint. As such it is biologically encoded, innate. You are in no control over your arousal. You can control your behaviour with increased level of awareness. This is exactly what I am arguing against. I do not agree that hypergamy is innate or a biological reality for women. The fact that it is an easily oberseved phenomenon in human history and even in moderns times does not mean it …

If women are hardwired for monogamous relationships due to the risk of pregnancy and need for support I don't necessarily agree with this premise. I suppose from an evolutionary standpoint, a child's rate of survival is improved if a mother is cared for during pregnancy and the child is cared for until maturity, though a mother and child haven't always been cared for by the father within a monogamous relationship - this is relatively modern phenomenon in terms of human history. Women children an…

Agreed - polygamy makes sense for men biologically, which is why it may drive instincts in a male reptilian brain. Though polygamy in a modern western society has obvious negative social consequences - so men should, and many do, repress this instinct. Hypergamy is not a biological drive - it is a cultural phenomenon - which is also rational for anyone who wants to ensure quality of life - more beneficial for women when they could not work, less so now, though still not a bad goal for either gen…

Government regulation is absolutely important I'm just trying to get you understand that your suggestion - to ban social media- is inconciviable without completely restricting the public from creating and sharing content in whatever form online (ie, craigslist, a site to sell used items, turned into largely a site for hook ups and prostitution). So unless you want to take away an individuals ability to create and post contact online then how would you stop some future iteration of facebook or ti…

Dating apps and social media are just a byproducts of the internet. Where do you draw the line? Tinder, Instagram, Facebook reddit, Wikipedia this is all social media. How would one go about controlling what takes place on the internet without restricting the internet as a whole? I agree there should be more benefits for struggling families with children. Though I don't know of any government programs that specifically benefits single parents that wouldn't also benefit coupled parents. Single parents in poverty would qualify for some government benefits but a couple at the same level of poverty would qualify for thos…

The same is true for women because of social media I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree that social media use (which I guess youve decided includes phone calls and FaceTime) is just as socially fulfilling as remotely participating in a hobby with friends while chatting on a live feed (gaming ). I truly think you are overestimating the amount of social interaction fulfillment men receive from video games - even social ones. Video games are in no way correlated to feeling less lonely. They…

No. My point is that you are being disingenuous to suggest playing online soccer is just as socially fulfilling as IRL. Again your putting words in my mouth. I never said online gaming with friends is just as fulfilling as playing soccer in real life. I mean they literally are features on social media apps. People use instagram and twitter and Facebook to facetime? That's news to me. Anyways im not saying phone calls or video calls aren't social activities- I'm saying that they are a poor replacement for IRL interactions and even if people are calling and face timing they may still feel lonely and isolated because they miss seeing their friends in person. Mhh citations from the early 80s. Isn't that what OP is being bashed on for in her linked articles? I agree women tend to be more other-concerned - i disagree that this always leads to "conformity." Just like the hypothetical I posed above. You never provided a reasonable refute to my assertion that men had more remote socialization prior to pandemic than women. Which is in part why I argue women feel more isolated post pandemic. Law abiding /= conformist. If you live in anti-mask community of trump voters. Wearing a mask to the Walmart because you care about your Grannie's health would be extremely non-conformist- but a policy abiding person who is concerned for the health and well-being of others would do it anyways despite the fact that they will likely be shunned or mocked by the anti-mask members of their community. Again I never said all videogame playing is social. Some people play games with friends - usually men…

Another explanation in the study that you chose to ignore is that women reported a higher increase in stress related to childcare activities than men. Perhaps mom is stuck taking care of little Billy and Susy more often giving their husbands more time to go fishing. Kids haven't been going on sleepovers, no after school activities, no nothing. One would expect to see equal increases in stress on men and woman in childcare activities during the pandemic- yet it is more pronounced in women. Perhap…

Lol - okay I've wasted too much time. Really guy- you're going to call women as a whole "more conformist" - based on "studies" Anyone who lives with or loves older people or immunocompromised people ( or are old / compromised themselves ) follows public health guidelines to protect those they care about. Gender isnt involved here. I also don't think men have more outdoor activities than women. I live in a city. Genders are equally represented in folks taking walks in the woods, out in the park, …

I never said men had more to gain. Everyone lost out on social interactions during the pandemic. I said women had more to lose because they had -in my observation- more in person social activities than men and shut downs meant we can't see our friends in person I don't think playing videogames alone is a social activity and neither is scrolling through online content. We are using social media right now. Do you think we are having a meaningful (friendship bonding) interaction. Do you create meaningful friends via social media? I don't. I'm a bit confused as to why you think women had more to gain based on social media tendencies. First can you describe what you mean by tendencies and then can you explain how spending time scrolling through content online is a social activity?

Of course there are a wide range of video gaming type activities. Some play alone and others play with friends. This also goes back to the point I made in my first post. Women had more to lose post pandemic. Many men (and some women) may have already been experiencing feelings of loneliness and isolation prior to the pandemic (isolated videogame players) so male loneliness has not markedly increased as much as as the female population has because many women weren't as isolated prior to shutdowns…

Based on my observation women more frequently meet up outside of the home and men can be completely happy staying in and playing multiplayer games with their friends. Obviously my observations cannot be used as evidence for anything. I was simply providing my theory as to why women vs men may report more feelings of loneliness during a pandemic which closed down social venues. I also wouldn't describe social media use as a genuinely "social" activity. Scrolling through the web is a private activ…

As I stated in my original post (which I'll reiterate for the sake of clarity). People who had more in person socializing (going dancing, brunches, nights out) will feel more lonely when they can't do these things. It doesn't mean they lost their friends it just means they can't do the things they normally do with their friends. People who socialize more frequently in remote settings (like playing videogames with buddies online) will not have experienced a monumental shift in their socializing a…

Welp lol now you're just circling back with the same refute my original point without any new evidence to back up your argument. Please provide a direct citation from the study (this was not the article originally linked) which indicated women reported losing more friends when compared to the male respondents. From the article We observed that females experienced increased sense of loneliness compared to males. This phenomenon has been observed among other investigations during the COVID-19 crisis (González-Sanguino et al., 2020; Losada-Baltar et al., 2020; Rosenberg et al., 2020). This study didn't prove that women lost friends during the pandemic- only that women reported feeling more lonely and isolated. I also didn't suggest women lost friends through the pandemic. I suggest that the feelings of loneliness and isolation occurs because people can't see their friends as they used to. You can have friends and feel lonely and isolated because you can't see them.. because it's a pandemic. If you didn't have many friends who you had in person social interactions with prior t…

Seems fairly obvious women had more to loose in the friendship category thus feel more lonely during the pandemic when they cannot interact with their friends per usual. Those who didn't do much in person socializing pre-pandemic wouldn't be as affected by lockdowns. There's a fairly large disparity between the genders in upper management and this has a big impact on career trajectories between the two. See: www.americanprogress.org/issues/women/reports/2018/11/20/461273/womens-leadership-gap-2/ Without women in these leadership positions many women will fail to progress at similar rates as their male counterparts even if theyre equally capable. I'm sure you're aware that no woman wants to enter a committed relationship with someone who couldn't give a shit about their interests/hobbies/personality. (No man should want this either) And you don't think women provide anything aside from sex in relationship.. so clearly you don't want a relationship you just want sex. Being the smart lad you are, I'd imagine …

I agree many people have issues sharing and being honest in a relationship. It would definitely not be a good idea to bring up having an open relationship if communication is lacking and the couple already has trust issues. I think emotional monagomy is important for a LTR relationship with children involved and i think many people want a partner to grow old with. I don't think sexual monago…

I (woman) enjoy casual no strings attached hookups. It's wild some of you can't fathom this. I don't have to be in love with someone to enjoy sex.. I don't even have to particularly like them..to enjoy sex. I could care less about a FWB's job or social status and I don't go on dates or do relationship activities with someone who I have an exclusively sexual relationship with. I make it clear I'm not looking for a relationship up front so they don't get wrong impression and no feelings get hurt. …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
