Kind of off-topic but I used to bartend in college at a local dive bar. After preparing limes and shit I'd work the door until it got busy. All I had to do was check I.D. Around 8 or 9 a bouncer would take over the door and I would go to slinging beers and well drinks. One weekend we had a bad fight (wasn't there for it) and the owner decided to hire a new and lead bouncer to get the group up to speed. I was doing my usual Friday night routine and checking I.d at the door. Mind you I'm a manlet,…

I had friends/co workers who went through divorce and recommended the individual lawyer who was familiar with merchant marines and there rotations and pay, and child custody for times I was off the vessel. Cost me about 8k and a year and a half of court process. I don't go cheap on tattoos, dental, or legal.

I had to fight tooth and nail in my divorce to get through too the judge I work 28 days on ship, and have 28 days off. Only work and get paid for 182 days of the year. The pay stubs for 5, 14, and 9 days last me the month I'm on the ship, and month home not working. They couldn't get through there fucking skulls that concept. Say I made 100k a year working 182 days, the judge based it on 200k, saying I should work the full year. What the Fuck? Slave away out to sea, never coming home to pay this…

Growing up as a short male who all of a sudden came into a career with money, I find this post insightful. I'm the stereotypical BB looking male. 26, short (5'7") good job, receding hairline, and of course, money.(I do lift regularly, sitting at 210lb. ORM BP=305lb, Squat=385, DL= 455. So I'm not a weakling, beside the point) I find it amusing I'm considered easy wall material.

Only reason I'm still in Texas is for my son. All of my family and friends are in Maine. Posts like this remind me how important I am to my son.

I work on an Anchor handling tow supply, servicing oil rigs in the gulf of mexico out of Fourchon LA. the rotation of 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off is something to consider, my time home on shore is much, much more valuable to me. Dating apps like tinder and okcupid I have had to up dread game, because there is nothing but time out here and I found myself glued to these dating apps chit chatting away to chicks like a social butterfly who seldom will respond when back onshore. The time is great for …
