I’ve always found the man making his wife his therapist thing to seem completely unrealistic. I can’t think of ANY guy I know that dumps his emotions on his wife. Most guys keep their emotions to themselves or release small bits when prompted. Healthy or not that is NOT the same as dumping. It’s much more common for women to dump their emotions on their partners than the other way around in my experience. Yet this trope of men doing it seems to be all over reddit. Maybe it’s just a Reddit thing …

Would you be okay with a male pop star saying the same thing but about women?

Another thing to consider, a nation only becomes powerful enough to defend itself and stop itself from being conquered by being outwardly violent. Any nation that does not have a powerful enough military would have ended up as part of another nation. So by necessity, a leader MUST be able to defend their country’s borders, and that begets violence.

I tend to agree, but I think one of the major differences is that nobody thinks misogynistic rap/rock songs are “empowering” for men. Some of Sabrina Carpenter’s fans genuinely think that her songs with misandrist lyrics or with music videos of men being killed are “empowering” for women.

Yeah I agree with your thoughts around the movie as well. It was probably done that way more from the female perspective that men should simply stop bothering women. Out of curiosity though, what ways would you change it to make it so that it was more about men not harming themselves by putting women at the centre of their lives/validation?

While I kind of agree with this, I also acknowledge that men are hard wired to seek sexual relationships in a way that women are not, so it would be more of a strain to tell men “they don’t need no woman!” The same way people drilled into women that “they don’t need no man!” But either way, you are still right. Ironically the Barbie movie did have a decent message for dudes, in that they should try not to base their whole existence or get all their validation from women.

Regarding the recent bear question, I always thought it would be a funny exercise to change “man” to “black man” and see how the discourse goes. Some of the same people that were choosing “bear” would rightly recognize it as racist, but fail to see the obvious sexism in the initial question.

Funny enough, I think one part of the solution is to drill into men the same rhetoric that has been drilled into women for the last couple of decades "i.e. that they don't need a man". Personally, I've always thought this message was slightly false, even if it has some good intentions. But either way, I think we need to teach boys that their life does not NECESSERILY have to revolve around a woman. Or that they are nothing without finding a woman. Aside from this, I think another more obvious so…

To be fair to them, I think most women are generally (and understandably) apprehensive at l encounter with men, and when they feel you don’t want anything out of them, they loosen up considerably. Another aspect of this is why they sometimes seem to find married men or men in relationships attractive, because a) those dudes are typically not pursuing them and b) other women have chosen those dudes, so there must be something interesting about them.

Ngl I have often wondered if young men need the same messaging that the modern (western) world has been drilling into women for the last couple of decades, which is that "they don't need the opposite sex". Personally I have always thought that message was slightly dishonest (and like any other message would also have harmful side effects), but I do think that society (including us men) have put far too much into men NEEDING women for validation, and that men need to decouple somewhat from that l…

It really is a dumbass take tbh. Research has shown that recently in the US the left are loosing young men. Nothing dumber than just letting that real estate walk away, when they should be thinking about simple ways to draw young men back to the other side.

It doesn’t explain it, but it interrogates the theory that men are the cause of all problems in hetero marriages which is what the dude in the tweet was trying to suggest. Looking at gay divorce rates (both lesbian and male to male) pokes some holes in that, as we see that women - women relationships have the highest divorce rates, while male to male relationships have the lowest, with hetero relationships in the middle. So even with the absence of men in a relationships, women’s divorce rates g…

Great stuff. I’m surprised anyone with even a marginal bit of exposure to animals and wildlife would want to use animal behavior to support/mirror human behavior. Wild animals of both genders live horrendous lives by our standard, and their behaviors are the product of Darwinian efficiency and nothing else. It’s why I hate it when people (usually on the left) point to animals and say things like “see!! Even animals do xyz! Therefore it is right/we should also do it!!”

I find it interesting that you are putting the entirety of the responsibility on the old rich dude and essentially equating the younger women to infallible and gullible children. I think this one party then you must critically the other as well. It’s naive to think that women in this scenario are blameless angels.

There was a study making the rounds on Reddit recently about how most young women are in a relationship while most young men are not. The disparity was due to the fact that women tend to actively date older men. But offcourse all everyone thinks about is how predatory and evil men are. Also reminds me of discussions about how some white men fetishize Asian women. It was ironic because Asian men confirmed that Asian women also fetishized getting with white men. I’m not saying that either side is …

Yup. Nothing looks worse to me than some rich dudes in their 50s with empty as houses because no one in their family wants to live with them. Yeah it’s crazy. Was arguing with someone the other day about She-Hulk when they referenced her comment about women being in more danger than men from violent crime. Had to drop a Wikipedia link to highlight how pathetically wrong that is. Men are by FAR more likely to die from violent crime than women, but as usual the oppression fantasy that is currently powering the feminist movement is so dead set on being the oppressed that they blind themselves to anything that says otherwise.

Yeah there was another great video by a Nasu on YouTube about shehulk, and why that first episode was so problematic. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Zuu45OE8GME Ultimately like OP said we are in an era of feminist exceptionalism in film where any slight/negative aspects of female characters is shoved out of site to ensure ensure that the female characters are “powerful” (and usually nothing else). Yup. Your ending comments were my exact takeaways when I watched a video with one of the ladies in OPs post. While I agree it isn’t necessarily true, it’s fascinating that significant events like Me-Too have already been overshadowed and forgotten for some reason. Lol it’s one of the most fascinating ironies. Reminds me of how progressive black women always seem to be the first to call a black man gay for being slightly different. But yeah overall it doesn’t surprise me too much. One of the key tenants of feminism in the modern era is to try as hard as it can to deny any difference btw men and women (when it suits them anyway) and this dichotomy of not being attracted to men that are thought to be more effeminate is one of the results. It’s also funny bec…

The profile was getting the attention of all manner of creeps. And of course my friend fueled the fire by being fairly receptive. Yeah I get you. Although I think with racism (or rather anti racism) the focus is a bit more on equal opportunities and improvement of standards for disenfranchised races. Feminism on the other hand has recently become more about revenge and scorched earth politics, as well as being morally right and shouting down any dissenting opinion regardless of accuracy. The difference is that IN GENERAL black people also frown on crimes committed by other black people (e.g. Jussie Smollet). What Amber Hea…

It’s a complex issue no doubt, but there is a lot of nuance to it that the people that complain about it do not want to confront. For instance the common complaint is that all older men than engage in such relationships are controlling and emotionally manipulative. The truth is that men that are controlling and manipulative will do that to ANY WOMAN at ANY AGE. So it’s far less of an age issue and more of a fact that some people are just controlling assholes.

Very well said fam. And I agree. Both are incredibly cowardly but for different reasons as you put it so well. What some feminists want is basically jungle Justice. Which never ends well for all parties involved. One other reason it is very dangerous to advocate or accommodate such is that you never know the day it could happen to your group. An example is the OJ Simpson case and how an almost all black jury made the wrong verdict on a white womans brutal murder because of the times (when countl…

/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates27/03/22 12:37 PM

The funniest part about that statement is that it completely takes away the role women play in raising all these awful men. It’s funny to see feminists argue in the same sentence that women bare the brunt of childcare, but it’s also 100% mens faults that boys and children in general turn out bad! It’s typical of the no accountability syndrome that modern feminism suffers from. It’s also similar to the discourse around young women dating much older men. One hand older and more affluent men can 10…

TBH I am not surprised. I noticed Alex Garland’s semi blatant misandry in EX-Machina with the horrible evil male characters trying to control and use the pure and angelic female robot character. I just avoid stuff like this now like the plague. Its like an argument I saw on Twitter the other day (from a woman) that men need to show more emotion and not bottle things up. 90% of the replies from dudes were that no man should ever fall for that bullshit. Because women say they want men to open up, but what they really want is for you to open up in a way that doesn't affect them or make them have to do anything to actually help. Tbf he said the women approach him. How is that predatory? If you want to tell him to reject women of younger ages approaching him, then you also have to tell women of that age to stop approaching older men.
/r/seduction28/02/22 07:59 AM
3

That’s also because women take rejection much harder than men. Also partly due to the higher numbers of offers they get. It’s difficult for them to fathom being rejected while for most men it’s an expected part of life. It’s why a man filing for divorce is almost always a more salacious thing than the reverse.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates16/02/22 06:45 AM

I agree its a quandary, but Its CLEARLY not entirely men. Lesbian women have higher divorce rates (more than double) than gay male couples and I think even higher than straight male/female couples. So clearly women initiate divorce at a much higher rate than men ACROSS the spectrum regardless of gender or creed. I found this especially fascinating because based on all we know and the way the media and feminists portray women as impeccable and flawless you would think that putting 2 women togethe…

Interesting. I've always found the generally reduced lack of interest from some white and asian men for black ladies (compared to other women) interesting. I wonder if there is a genuine case to be made for them being actually less attractive, or if a lack of positive quality media coverage for black women (compared to other races) also contributes to this. Most likely the answer is somewhere in the middle. Anyway thanks for the reply.

Exactly. Which is ironic, and kind of highlights how selfish and defensive they are of their victimhood. But it also shows just how much modern Feminism has brainwashed people into believeing men are the boogey men behind every problem, and they nobody should give a shit about any problem they have.

I suspect it’s because the world was (and still is) typically run by straight men, and male homosexuality is probably the biggest turn off for straight men. Add in negative religious sentiment and it’s easy to see why it was banned. But then again I wonder if there is anything biological about how the average person views gay men vs lesbians. Of prostitutes? Even in countries with a booming prostitution business trafficking still exists, particularly when the demand for underage people is higher. I think the only way to really solve it is reduced inequality, and limited/structured immigration. The trafficking business thrives off lower income and destitute people as well as desperate immigrants that have been tricked into it through travel.
