24	Men can now be sued for child support if they are part of a child's life, but not biologically related. There was this case in Finland, where a guy was forced to pay child support for a child that wasn't his. In Finland you have two years after birth to deny fatherhood, but the guy didn't even know he wasn't the father until after the deadline had already passed. 8	Father spends one year in prison after found guilty of sexually abusing his daughter. Turns out to be a lie that the court believed and he had to fight for compensation. I just read No Crueler Tyrannies by Dorothy Rabinowitz, which deals some of the bogus child abuse court cases of the 80s and 90s fueled by the "satanic panic". It just makes me sick that many people spent years and years in prison over obviously made up stories. You can make the number of false claims as big as you want, until it is bigger than the number of rapes, both reported an unreported. For example, I could claim that I've been raped by every single person in the world, twice over. Then there would suddenly be 14 billion more false rape claims. Yes, but false accusations don't add to the number of true rapes, so you could generate as many false accusations as you like, while the number of actual rapes that occurred would stay the same. Imagine a society where no-one has ever raped anybody, so TR+UR =0. Then one day someone makes a false accusation, i.e. TD=1. So TR + UR < TD. 7	The Power Of Understatement. That's wrong. If TR+FR+UR> FD+TD Then TR+UR> FD-FR+TD. You say that a true rape accusation leads to a false denial, and false accusation leads to a true denial. So TR=FD and FR=TD. So FD+UR> FD-TD+TD, i.e. FD+UR> FD. But this does not tell us anything new, since all of the numbers are nonnegative, and hence FD+UR> FD is trivial. In fact, the only way that TR + UR > TD is if FD=FR, but this would impy that TR=FR (exactly as many true accusations as false accusations), and furthermore TR=TD.
