Any head drugs you got prescribed to help? That sucks. Walk, swim, bike, anything that won’t blow your eyeballs out. Commenting to follow because my current regimen of alcohol is not sustainable. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/03/26 05:33 AM
The Damage and Destruction of DivorceI’m right here with you man. Thanks for giving voice to what’s otherwise just painful noise. We told our kids tonight. She chose to tear our family apart and she couldn’t even say it. I had to. So much waste. Imagine the good that could come from all of this energy channeled in the other direction. No. instead it’s a wake of destruction. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/02/26 04:21 AM
What do you all do when you don’t have a support system?I’d say this is a great start! I’m in the same boat and started going to a local church men’s group weekly. You don’t have to be religious. Sure most are bible based but any decent gathering of men is by now aware of the epidemic of lonely men inadvertently raised to go it alone, and would be happy to have you sit in, participation optional. Connection with friends is a struggle for many of us during functional marriages so being advised to find new connections during turmoil seems tone deaf. Im… | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/01/26 07:21 PM
A letter for my wife...Well written. I applaud how you’ve put your mistakes out there with no buts or exceptions. I’ve been through a few versions like this and even delivered one, all with the feeing that I was falling on my sword of accountability while expecting nothing of her, even though forward movement requires accountability from both. Still I felt like taking the first step, saying the things that she thought I was incapable of seeing, would provide some relief for her to lower her guard just a little. It did… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/01/26 03:19 PM

Anyone else stick in a miserable job due to threat of alimony?I can begrudgingly agree with the precedent for someone in a stable industry or one with reasonable lateral options but I know so many, and I could easily become another statistic, in tech and other distressed professions who would leap at the chance to make 50% of the salaries they’ve been laid off from. There must be some allowance by courts to adjust for real experiences like this when a case can be made. No? Is anyone getting any grace? | /r/Divorce_Men | 04/01/26 01:54 AM
Anyone else stick in a miserable job due to threat of alimony?Does that earning potential apply to both spouses? I’m just starting the divorce and my wife made good money until cutting back one year ago to go back to grad school. Now she makes very little and has of course been dependent on me though our mortgage and expenses have remained high. I assume the court will not care when or why her income changed and look only at the necessity of her being able to comfortably continue her education. I don’t know how I will support myself if I have to provide fo… | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/01/26 09:19 PM
