I agree about the father roles besides the “positive gender role characteristics” if they’re traditional. Gender roles like “man up”, “boys will be boys”, “men don’t cry” that literally caused this whole “mens rights” page and if they weren’t raised thinking these things and if women weren’t taught to find a man that holds up to those standards I feel like a lot of the battles between men and women today would be all of us against society instead of each other. Masculine/feminine roles don’t need to be observed by a child. What are the benefits of being raised by a single mother vs a single father? What do fathers teach us that mothers can’t and what do mothers teach us that fathers can’t? Gender roles should be erased when raising a child period.
