My anecdotal evidence is no more admissible then yours though. Sure, but there are heaps of peer-reviewed scientific papers on the topic. I think it's important to ask why, historically, women are less interested in STEM fields and whether or not it's something inherent in the female brain, or social conditioning that STEM fields are not a place for them. The truth is somewhere in the middle, and I've seen several women pushed out, and I think that sucks.

I'm not though, so I'm good. I have an in-depth understanding of what it's like being a woman in science because I'm married to a woman in science and I'm friends with many women in science. It's fucked up how they get treated and I much prefer helping people like that out, over shitty incel whiney dudes who claim sexism for their lot in life instead of working on themselves to make them more employable. If your research shows that your company is discriminating on the basis of sex, and you can prove that in court, you likely will win. I think you'll have a hard time proving it, because what an employer considers "better" is likely not the same metric than you do. That's the effort of diversity programs, as sloppily implemented as they might be -- to being different skillsets to the table.

What percent of your company was female? That sounds like a drastic measure, but it sounds like Dropbox handled this sloppily. I got a PhD in a top-tier program and had corporate gigs at top-tier companies for over a decade and that's not at all what I've witnessed. I've seen women sexually harassed.
