Criminal indeed. The only province with no spousal support for common law couples is Quebec. Otherwise you need a contract that clearly defines the financial obligations you have to one another and what assets and debts are shared and which are separate.

Most people don't have that skill. You know who does? LAWYERS. I'm not saying refuse to talk. I never said that. Only that you don't talk without counsel's advice. So "you" too can eventually learn that skill. Ultimately you do what works for you, but most people will dig themselves a deep-ass whole talking to cops. Watch this lecture where a long serving police officer addresses law school students. Even after stressing the importance of not talking to police, with a few simple and seemingly in…

So, make an accusation to police, get a restraining order and it's done. That's all a judge needs, no convictions required. So it is incredibly difficult. Not unheard of, but incredibly difficult. Opposite. Have you actually studied the Canadian custody cases? Obviously not, because you'd know she would have to prove her accusation was true and he was an unfit parent. Doesn't matter if she feels unsafe at that point, she has to prove (with actual non-hearsay evidence) the kids aren't safe. So pl…

Well it's a legally binding contract. You each have your own lawyer sign it to say they've given you legal counsel in the matter and you are aware of and understand what you're doing. You each have your own witness sign it too, and after all that you get the whole process notarized. In order to ruin any child custody and child support laid out in the contract she would have to prove you are an unfit parent. Not the same as in divorce where it's basically her word against the fact all men are scu…

If you can't afford a lawyer then you can't afford a relationship these days. Just the cold hard truth when the "perfect girl" you were dating could turn around and pull some shit like this and the system is designed to default in her favor. The only people I trust less than western women are North American police. Hence the lawyer when both those groups are trying to lock you up. Maybe it takes these cases going to court for legal reform to happen. It certainly won't happen at the police level.…

I agree with you to an extent, but in the off-chance she is worth living with it can be a smart move. If you own your own home already you can then rent it out and use the income to pay for your share of the new place. You'll more than likely clear a couple hundred dollars a month in profit too. Two people usually have lower per-person utility expenses than a single-person dwelling. Common law partners can still claim income tax deductions because they have a spouse. At least in Canada. The broad strokes are basically being free from outside pressures (society, family, peers), free from obligations to others (marriage, children you didn't 110% want). So while some of the choices you make may be reckless or downright stupid, you made them because you wanted to, not because someone else wanted you to. It may not be what's best for you but because you got there all on your own it's still better than what comes with the alternative. With the alternative you end up forfeiting parts …

In a sense it is about undoing society's brainwashing so "whatever you want" is inline with what is best for you. There is no way marriage is the best option for any independent man, yet without things like TRP and MGTOW so many men think otherwise. Post-TRP/MGTOW your thinking is realigned so what you want and what is in your best interest are much closer together. At that point "your own way" and "whatever you want" are often indistinguishable, and if not they are certainly still similar.

I've become more and more MGTOW for the better part of a decade now, starting before even my first dose of red pills. While I certainly don't need this subreddit, or all the YouTubers and blogs it is still useful because it allows everyone a shared experience. We can learn from each other's experiences and teach through our own. So while you're right - established MGTOWs don't need the online community it is still useful to the overall proliferation of MGTOW philosophy.

So we agree the cops want to find any excuse. Good. So why would you potentially help them? Lawyer up - your lawyer will make sure they only see what they need to in order to prove your innocence and her guilt. Your lawyer will make sure you don't say anything stupid to incriminate yourself. She most likely won't have a lawyer present because she thinks it's in the bag, open and shut you're going to jail. But the cops won't charge you (video evidence + lawyer), they'll charge her (no evidence, n…

You can get pen cameras that record 720p video and audio and have 4-8Gb of storage for ~$200. What the guy in the video did wrong was he showed his evidence to the cop right away. You never speak to a cop directly, regardless if you're right or wrong. They were there to arrest him originally after all. Just tell the cop "I refuse to say anything until my lawyer gets here." If one does not wish to change their mind, they may still get what they want through other channels. Changing your mind is still allowing yourself to be controlled to an extent. It's never too late to start skateboarding again and go back to school. Re-fill your life with what you lost when you started seeing that girl and eventually you won't think twice about relationships. If you don't let them get close enough they can't trap you in a relationship. Stand your ground and maintain boundaries. If someone calls you a commitment-phobe just laugh and say you're committed to being single. Fuck what they think, it has zero bearing on your happiness.

In some places common law spouses can still get alimony after a break up. In Canada, for instance, it is VERY important to sign a cohabitation agreement before moving in with someone you're having sex with. It still takes 3 years to become a common law couple but it's better to have the document signed before you move in whatsoever so it doesn't cause friction or affect what goes on the document later on.

Want to talk about double standards? I once saw a morbidly obese woman in her forties on the subway, cottage cheese rolls oozing from beneath her clothing, browsing topless photos of Justin Bieber (who was in his mid-teens at the time, let alone when the photos were taken). If a man did something remotely similar with photos of a female OR male he'd be arrested. But she was just being feminine.

I agree with everything you're saying, but you cannot just assume that is the case with this case. He could very well have blackmailed her, at which point he is very guilty and she is a victim. She could very well be lying about the blackmail, but if so he could have beaten the allegation. The state has to disclose all evidence they plan to present in the trial ahead of time, which may have influence the guilty plea. I'm not talking about sympathy, or any emotion when I say "feelings". None of your claims can be backed up with facts from the article. You are making assumptions based on how you feel rather than based on the evidence before you as it pertains to this case (not "our experience" from past cases). My point all along has been the article is shit. Biased and it omits important information like the evidence to back up the girl's testimony. You can't jump to that conclusion from the (lack of) evidence you're citing. While women, young girls especially, do lie about these things, only a small percentage of their claims are ever proven false. With rape it's roughly 20-25%. "Small" because while that number is absurdly high it sill indicates a majority are telling the truth. I don't have figures for claims more similar to the ones being made in this case but the point is a minority group of liars is not enough to base the assumption t…

Well that and the fact Valentine's is a manufactured holiday forced on us by commercial entities simply to boost their bottom line. So not only is he sending unsolicited sexually explicit material but he's blackmailing her into sending her own pics back. You're not doing something because it's what's best for you, you're being rash and acting on knee-jerk emotional impulses. That is hardly what I'd call "choosing your own path". You're a slave to women and a slave to your emotions. The article says neither is being charged for actually having sex with each other, but that the boy is being charged for possession of nude photos of the girl. If it is in fact true how he came about possession of those photos - blackmailing her into giving them to him - then yes he deserves to be punished. I'm not in the market right now but down the road if I meet the right woman who has also opted for a child-free life I'm not going to rule out the idea of getting involved and maybe even living together. But to answer your question, yes. I'd only date a girl who liked me for who I am - meaning I won't be something I'm not just to get a girl. I used to smoke a lot of weed. Here's the deal based on my experiences. Marijuana is a mood enhancer. It won't make you feel anything that wasn't already there - it will only make you feel more of what you were already feeling. So if you're the type of person who's really motivated and action-oriented or sociable, getting high will kick you into a higher gear. Likewise if you're more introspective or lazy getting high will make you more introverted or lazier. Some people will tell you "there's a…

I didn't watch it - that kind of shit seems stupid to me even before it was a forced trend - so I can't tell you what he talks about, but I know he uploaded the vid sometime yesterday. As far as my #DearMe? I believe the great Marshall Mathers III said it best: If I could take is all back now, I woudln't. I would have done more shit that people said that I shouldn't.

I agree there. I disagree with OP using pro fighting to teach a life lesson. In pro fighting that's not what gets you KO'd. I mean aside from the obvious fact it is a fight and the whole purpose is to kick the other guy's ass, how the fighters act toward each other before the fight has little to no effect on the outcome. They're pros, and part of that is being psychologically prepared to ignore bullshit like that. In real life acting like that is a lot more likely to be the reason someone kicks …

No idea how he became champ, but he was holding the belt and that still means something. As in, it's not like this guy was a write-off. He was just outclassed and outmatched. As far as fighters go, there are a lot of champs who have the cocky/arrogant asshole personality and who can back it up by cleaning out their division. Of course someone better will come along eventually but the point is it's not their personality and conduct that makes them lose.

Yup. The only real difference between common-law and marriage here is where estates and real property are considered. So without a will the law doesn't guarantee a common law spouse any inheritance and a common law spouse doesn't instantly own half your property once you're considered common law. Other than that they're still entitled to spousal support the same as in a marriage. This page does a good job of explaining the importance of a cohabitation agreement. I think it's from a BC law firm, …

only takes three years Or nine months + cohabitation if you know what I mean. There are ways around it, like both people signing a cohabitation agreement (basically a prenup) that lays out who owns what, who pays for what and who keeps what in the event of a break up. As long as that document ensures both people are contributing equal dollar amounts to the household and shared finances there isn't really a case for spousal support when you break up, as you are both entitled to half of the lifest…

I bet you'd get bored of hookers before you could spend all that money. That's what, like 150 hours of primo tail? You spend roughly the same time taking a single credit in high school. Sounds boring as fuck when you think about it like that.

No problem. Another benefit to serving is you can pretty much move to any major North American city and get a job fairly easily. Don't like winter? Ski resorts will need seasonal staff too.

Bartender/server is a good McJob. If you work at a high-end restaurant where patrons can afford to tip well you can make really good money working 3-4 nights a week. Kiss your weekends goodbye, and holidays can be a nightmare, but in return you get a ton of free time and a job you don't have to put much into. Where I live, after 3 years of living together you are considered common-law married. While it's not the exact same as marriage it still poses huge liabilities for the main breadwinner in the event of a break-up. If you are going to co-habitate make sure you're aware of your area's common-law marriage criteria and have several plans on how you're going to evade it.

Women are more sensitive, but given the delicate hormonal "balance" present at any given time their emotions are constantly changing, rolling from one to another to the next. I believe women can love as deeply as, perhaps even deeper than, a man but the difference is how long that feeling lasts. With women emotions are more "easy come, easy go", whereas with men it takes time to cultivate the feeling into something worth labeling an "emotion". By the time a man experiences the emotion he is alre…

How does one woman land multiple rich husbands in her lifetime? I'd imagine it's much like the saying "You have to spend money to make money." The problem there is that gets men off the hook completely, despite them being ~50% responsible for a pregnancy. While that isn't a big deal when abortion is an option, a legal abortion can only be performed before a certain point in the pregnancy. As long as the father's decision to opt out was given with enough time to spare for the mother to make an informed decision and access a legal abortion there isn't anything wrong with the idea. Anytime after that and he's on the hook. And if he's will…

People with known ties to Islamic radicals were welcomed into Canada (and given teaching jobs) because the country values immigration so highly they are essentially blind to any threats. http://freakonomics.com/2005/05/15/abortion-and-crime-who-should-you-believe/ It costs taxpayers considerably more to house an inmate than support a child. If she doesn't want an abortion that's fine, but simply making them available had been proven to reduce crime rate and dependence on welfare. Enough that it would lift the need for a bachelor tax. A tax of that scope and magnitude would cause a mass exodus of single men and the welfare state that was dependent on their taxes before it decided to take them to the cleaners would collapse completely. A much better solution would be for the state to pay for abortions. That way there won't be as many single mother leeches, fewer fatherless boys growing up to become criminals. Hell, if it meant not having a bachelor tax I'd even be in favor of a DNA registry so only the baby's father would be h…

Remarrying is an even bigger hypothesis than having another baby with the wife who survived. I suppose if it comes to it you have to weight the investment you've placed in your wife and your baby. If the time, money and emotions you've invested in one outweigh the other then that's the one you should save. I personally would never repr…

You're missing the point here. A baby is only valuable to a society after a lot of time and money are invested in it and it has been raised into a productive member of that society. As a newborn baby it has zero value apart from the emotional attachment of its parents and family. A fertile mother (assuming she's still fertile after whatever it was threatened her and the baby's survival) has immense value. She can produce more babies which can be raised into productive members of society. With si…

(Nor does THAT even begin to address all of the other problems -- the crazy-bitch percentages, the slut percentages, the single-mom w/ crotchspawn percentages {which granted overlap}, or the "already taken" group). I find that simply eliminating makeup from the picture does a rather thorough job of eliminating a significant number of crazies, sluts (basically 100% eliminated though I have met one exception) and yes even single moms (who are likely more desperate to attract a man). This leaves th…

I completely agree it is a huge turnoff. Beyond merely looking ridiculous it shows an extreme lack of honesty. They are trying to portray themselves as something they are not. Exactly how actors go through hours of makeup to achieve very specific looks these women practice painting multiple "looks" themselves depending on what image they want to project. It is insincere, dishonest and oftentimes malicious. Add to that the fact it doesn't even look attractive and it is enough for me to write off …

It's not a class, it's a one-time "workshop". Probably 3-4 hours on an evening or weekend. Basically the school offers something they call a "leadership passport" on top of your regular program. It's not required to graduate but it gives you extra credit and looks good on resumes. To fulfill the requirements there are mandatory workshops as well as optional workshops and you have to complete a minimum of 5 projects from a list. Some of the projects are really open-ended, and one of them is atten…

I'm not too worried. It's an optional lecture, and there is plenty else I can do to get the credit. The leadership credit also has zero bearing on me graduating. It's just resume fodder. Might as well make it entertaining.

The college I'm going to in the fall offers extra accreditation through a series of leadership courses. One of the optional tracks is on social justice. I'm already gathering research and hard data with the full intent of derailing the lecture when it inevitably starts dropping rhetoric. The beauty of it is it's a leadership course so I can't really be punished for refusing to be a sheeple.

We're on the same page, just different paragraphs. That's okay, I don't expect any two people to completely agree on everything. We're getting closer to it though the more we talk. They call us obsolete? Let's treat them the same way. The whole "us v. them" approach is not my style. I'd rather just remove myself from the whole equation and focus on my personal goals. I understand that in doing so I am accomplishing exactly that (treating them the same way) but that is not my endgame, merely a by…

Our genetic gender roles are. That's bullshit. Only since women have, relatively recently, broken away from their traditional biological role and become breadwinners themselves have they begun to feel (wrongfully) men are obsolete. The state is the tool used to enforce feminist ideals. All that aside, since MGTOW is all about individual freedom, naturally a limited government is in the movement's best interest.

it seems virtually all young Redditors have been fed those pills It's even worse if you live in Canada, trust me. I can only speak for my area of the country (which happens to be a global feministazi hotspot) but anyone under the age of ~35 with conservative or, god-forbid, libertarian views is basically persona non grata among their peers. We are all expected to drink the koolaid from the left-most bowl.

I have a few ideas on why this happens to specifically Asian men. TL;DR - Worse than baby-jail, these women exploit cultural values to get a free (not even "paying with sex") all-expenses-paid luxury ride through life. Asian cultures, and in my area it is mostly Chinese couples I see with this dead-man dynamic, weigh family respect above just about everything else. It is not only disrespectful to disobey your parents but it is shameful. You lose stature in your family and community if you step o…

I live in a heavily Asian populated area and one thing I notice about young Asian couples here really irks me. Several times a day, and more and more common now, I'll see a young adult couple walking down the street or at the mall or wherever and the broken-down guy is carrying the girl's purse (and all the shopping bags) while she spends his money. Oh, right. Moments that make me smile. My bad.

Hollywood is owned and controlled by SJWs My brother and his fiance are watching the oscars right now and I caught a speech about ending the "wage gap" and fighting for equal rights for women. Culminating in a standing ovation. I'm pretty sure "equal rights for women" is a few steps back from where they are now.

What you said about SNL resonates with me. I too lamented that episode. They're desperately trying to appeal to a young crowd, which means ridiculously liberal pro-feminism idiots. I understand they need to keep up their ratings but it's sad to see the show quality suffer as a result.

TL;DR - either take zero risk and stay forever in your comfort zone or take some risks and push yourself to achieve great things I have a friend who's 28 years old and has only banged one girl a handful of times about seven years ago. His secret is smoking a lot of weed, playing video games and masturbating multiple times a day. The moral here isn't necessarily to smoke weed and jerk off a lot but to stay in your comfort zone. I was under the impression the reason men get stuck paying child support for another man's children is because they'd already established a pattern of paying for that kid. Whether they knew it was someone else'e kid or not, they took it on as a dependent and in the divorce proceedings the wife could claim that as part of her expected lifestyle or whatever. If you never contribute financially for the kid that you know isn't yours from the beginning she can't ever prove a pattern of money you've a…

I'm convinced a smart career move would be to study obstetrics and open a clinic called "Second Opinion Parenthood". I'd market my service exclusively to men - basically it would be two "checkups" with the newborn. The first would be taking the baby and father's DNA samples and the second would be delivering the results. $1000 today could save you 250x that over the next 18 years.

I'm new to this subreddit but not the idea of MGTOW. I am fond of women. I love the women in my family and have loved other women as well. To me the idea of MGTOW is placing my priorities and happiness above all else in life. My "own way" very well may eventually include being in a committed relationship with a woman but certainly not until I have achieved all my life's goals and feel I am complete as an individual. Until then my own way is education, career and wealth-focused. It's not that I d…

Just to play devil's advocate here (because in reality I agree with EVERYTHING you've said) it might actually have been a smart financial move on his part. See, if she's going to end up with all that in the event of divorce anyway, and he's hell-bent on marrying her and starting a family with her anyway, having these terms predetermined in a nice concise contract could save him tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees. His and hers.

We stand around and laugh when one of us gets screwed..until it's our turn. While I completely agree with why that is bad for us on a whole, let's be honest here. What favorable outcome could he have possibly expected from signing that contract? That is a red flag, basically gives her explicit financial incentive to divorce. "Sucks to be you, loser" is more the attitude when someone is a victim, but I don't consider this man a victim if he willingly agreed to that deal. He needs to accept respon…
