I didn’t present anecdotes as universal facts, I presented my experience and you told me my experience was either wrong or a lie. But if you just fucking look around you, you’ll see thousands of very average couples happily going about their lives. Do you actually need data at that point? Average people have an average time meeting other average people. YOU are the outlier.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 02:46 PM

I told you my experience twice, you called me a liar twice. You don’t argue in good faith and therefore I do believe I’m entitled to berate you and tell you to go fuck yourself.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/09/23 12:19 PM

I started early and I stopped using just a few years ago. You are full of shit. Average men who wash their asses and have a modicum of social grace can have an average time. Again: it sounds like you’re salty that no one wants to fuck you and it frankly seems like it’s YOUR fault.

As I said, I was an early adopter. I was on OKCupid in my mid and maybe early 20’s. I never had much issue meeting women in the wild and OLD just made it easier. Sounds like you’re just salty no one wants to fuck you.

I’m 41, was an early OLD adopter, am pretty average in most quantifiable ways, and I’m a career mechanic. I’ve never had problems dating. Any dudes who don’t know what they’re doing wrong: hygiene, charisma, a base level of fitness, and curiosity (read a fucking book once in a while!) all go a loooong way.

Personally I have no additional bandwidth to even consider anyone else’s wants or needs if I’m on public transport, BUT if I notice I’ll usually offer my seat to pregnant women and elderly. Typically most of my energy when I’m on the bus or light rail is spent scanning for potential threats and anxiously thinking about whether or not I’ll be where I want when I want to be there. I also grew up in Baltimore so I have a sort of low-burn always active PTSD about public transportation so…

100% I look like a scumbag but I consistently date out of my league. Charm, intelligence, hygiene, and intelligence count for so much more than simple attractiveness.

From the time i was 18 until mid thirties, whenever i was single I never went more than a month without sex with a woman, and i never paid for it. The only exception was that one time I made a conscious decision to not have sex for a few months. So yeah, I’d say you either are not attractive, have too high standards, or have some terrible social skills. First order priorities go something like: fitness, intelligence, empathy, hygiene. If you can’t even modestly check all of those boxes off no on…

Absolutely not because it still gives y’all an opportunity to better your social skills. Something that is very obviously lacking with most RP young men.

Her “best” is defined by her past, yet you want to be with them in the present and future? You RP folk really DO have low self esteem.

Hey man, I’m sorry for forcing you into a corner. Those two things aren’t actually mutually exclusive, you can be both. I already know your description was bullshit because you basically described the human version of a cryptid. I’ve been attending packed punk shows for 25 years and at any given one I’ll see maybe 1 person out of the 200 with blue hair and they’re always cis and monogamous. I’ve also been all over the country to packed punk shows and it pans out. Alternately I’ve been to several…

“Blue haired, non binary polyamorous person” is such a shithead comment to begin with that I don’t believe for a fucking second you have an honest bone in your body. Either you’re a shit head, or you never interact with anyone who is unlike you. I’ve never met a blue haired non binary polyamorous person in my fucking life and I know and hang out with swinger trans folk. So, before i enter into an honest conversation, are you full of shit or just a fucking loser?

Short answer: the pickup “artists” were merely grifters, and when they gave their fan base hope and then the fan base found out the shit they were preaching didn’t work at all many of them went full incel. So then the pickup “artists” changed tactics and gave into audience capture and changed their message. That message broadly was that society and politics have changed so much that the reason their values and tactics don’t work anymore and you should be more conservative, because (apparently) t…

I don’t find it useful to compare them. They’re all different and fulfilling in different ways. Even the purely sexual relationship/connection can have its time and place for some people. Certainly not for everyone though.

I’ve never been married. The only benefits I see are health insurance costs, and making sure your spouses future is secured if you croak. But the latter can be mitigated with a good lawyer and will. Kids are annoying, expensive and the planet is dying anyway. I’ve personally been semi-swayed by the anti-Natalist philosophy. You don’t have to be lonely if you don’t want to. You don’t need marriage to find a deep connection (romantic or otherwise) with someone. You don’t have to get trapped by kid…

I don’t really get it either. People who haven’t gotten into games just wont get it. Do you, have a great time, and I’ll be doing my hobbies that people also don’t get.

There are no monoliths when talking about men or women. There are plenty of independent people who are well socialized and enjoy their autonomy, same as men. Every woman I have dated doesn’t need me, nor I them. If you wish to be alone and do without the potential pitfalls, that’s fine. If you want a woman who is an independent adult that you get along with who isn’t going to take you over the coals then they are available, you just have to be very discerning. If you’re worried about kids being …

Just a perfect storm of bullshit. She was depressive and cycling on new meds and during that period she got a dream job opportunity across the country. Some time before that I had become quite moody because of my school and work load (3 classes a semester plus 50-60 hours a week turning wrenches) and just ran out of the heroic amount of patience necessary to maintain a relationship with a depressive. She wanted to have a child and get married and even though I was totally down I demanded we firs…

I’ve only ever had cohabitation work out well once, and it was a one bedroom in-law addition we lived in together. It was about as close to a perfect match as I’ve ever come by and it all went to shit. Before, and after her, my ideal relationship has always involved living in adjoining apartments or occupying separate parts of a duplex.

Most of the same qualities that give longevity to any relationship: similar philosophies, interests, humor, in cohabitation having the approximate same level of tolerance for what is/isn’t considered clean, etc. One exception that comes to mind is physical attraction.

Take your time, do what you want now, maybe take some random classes at a community college to better yourself (philosophy and ethics are two classes I believe should be taught as core curriculum in high school and will absolutely challenge you and make you a better person (especially ethics)), start creating some good habits (food, lifting, running etc), and don’t ever be too hard on yourself. Whenever I need any sort of motivation or I feel rudderless I read the Essential Marcus Aurelius, and …

That fear is something I think is worth getting over. It took me a long time to do so and being honest with oneself is one of the hardest things to do in life. I’ve had some solo psychedelic experiences where I’ve just dug really deep in my consciousness and confronted all of the ugly shit, literally unable to look at my reflection in the mirror for days on end due to shame, and as sad and terrifying as it was I do believe I’ve come out a better person.

I read the book Lying by Sam Harris a while ago and it completely altered my relationship with the truth. It’s not so much that I lie more than the average person, but I caught myself telling white lies regularly and found out quick how hard it is to go even 24 full hours without telling some sort of lie. How often do we tell a manager “sorry, I have been completely swamped with B and haven’t gotten to A yet” when we were in fact day dreaming or fucking off, for example? Since then I’ve been com…

Thanks, I know. I was asking broadly for information on that kind of niche legal work regarding single fathers and honestly the details aren’t important. I know he needs a lawyer (i literally stated that in the post), I’m looking for information regarding advocacy groups that are specific to stay at home dads without much if any income. This should all be very obvious by simply reading the original post, but thanks for stopping by and being unhelpful.

You’re assuming a lot about his situation. She wants to refinance and get a cash settlement out of the house plus multiple other concessions from him while also having him take the brunt of the responsibilities without adding anything financially to his situation. If he decided not to care he’s gonna be a single, homeless father. She doesn’t give a fuck about her kids or him.

Destination psychedelic drug retreats. Maybe skip out on the ayahuasca shamans in sketchy south/Central American countries if you’re a n00b, but something like camping in Joshua tree with mushrooms, or Yellowstone or any of our gorgeous national parks with a friend or two can be a transcendent experience.

I think so! We’ve been best friends and on again off again lovers for like 4 years. This whole new situation really takes pressure off the relationship aspect and gives me enough breathing room to work on my own shit at my own pace. We both hate the idea of having kids and neither of us are too keen on the thought of cohabitation currently. Small lotto indeed.

Doing great! Almost ideal, in fact. My woman just got a job that keeps her out of town every other week for a week, she has her own hobbies and friends and house and is completely emotionally and financially independent (better off than me in those areas if I’m being honest).

What the fuck are you talking about? He probably IS creepy in real life. A lot people, regardless of gender, who have a ton of power tend to abuse it. But who said anything about brad pitt? If you choose to live your life in the public eye, you’re going to have every bit of your existence picked apart. This is especially true for celebrities and politicians. If you want to be a fucking man who goes their own way you need to own that shit, especially if you want to be a celebrity. If you’re choos…

I think maybe I’m missing the point of all of this. Or maybe y’all are. When I think of MGTOW I like to think that it’s just men doing their own thing regardless of societal expectations. This should be inclusive to all men who are seeking meaning in their lives while totally unencumbered by expectation and without pinning their hopes and dreams and wants on women or anyone else. This ought to also include gay men, because philosophically, why not? What I end up reading on the other hand is a bu…

Womanizer is a term that implies your are using women through deception. There’s PLENTY of women who are happy to only have flings/casual relationships. Just be honest with your partners about what you want and open with them throughout your interactions and there’s nothing to worry/feel guilty about.
