She++, a 'documentary' about how oppressed women are in Computer Science. The segment in the video was some women talking about their introductory cs classes and how nervous they were to take it (stigma of being a difficult/weeder class mostly). So I'm guessing it's at least like first week, since I doubt they'd stick to Hello World in a cs class for too long. | /r/MensRights | 24/08/13 10:56 PM
She++, a 'documentary' about how oppressed women are in Computer Science.True, it just seems all she's saying was that she felt intimidated and C++ is less intuitive than say Python when you're just a beginner. Especially when it's your first day and everyone else is already well past that point. It just seems that people are mocking her for feeling nervous and not being able to grasp (simple) concepts on the first day. What's to say that someone who was a slower learning curve isn't cut out for programming? I mean she works at Microsoft now so she has seemingly gott… | /r/MensRights | 24/08/13 10:48 PM
She++, a 'documentary' about how oppressed women are in Computer Science. That's true for a lot of languages but maybe she was talking about C++ (obviously less simple than say Python). | /r/MensRights | 24/08/13 10:29 PM
She++, a 'documentary' about how oppressed women are in Computer Science. Why not? It was obviously a beginner course, and she was a beginner. Wouldn't it be more apt for her to be there if she didn't already know how to program? | /r/MensRights | 24/08/13 10:28 PM
She++, a 'documentary' about how oppressed women are in Computer Science. But she's just saying that she felt intimidated, she didn't say she resented the men in her class for knowing more than her. I'm sure any beginner would feel that way amongst others more experienced. | /r/MensRights | 24/08/13 10:25 PM
