I'm not.

This is a disgusting mindset, not going to lie.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/26 12:21 AM

It's absolutely not the same. The past survived on gender norms and roles that made it to where women were forced to marry for any sort of success or financial stability- they couldn't work 9 times out of 10, couldn't have their own bank accounts or financial independence, etc. Now there's no reason for them to be with a man unless they genuinely add something beneficial into their life.

Lol I have all of these but live in an area where finding people roughly my age to date would require a two hour drive, and with the cost of living and low wages, I can't afford a car.

This is true. No gender is a monolith. There's a lot more that goes into attraction than just surface level values. As someone who once developed a crush on someone just from spending time with them, getting to know them, and eventually finding them attractive despite my initial preferences- it does happen. Just treat someone you meet like a human first and go from there.

I see where you're coming from, and I think a large part of it is that men haven't been taught what's involved in a Long Term Relationship until they hit the frying pan and have to learn the hard way. However, I'm someone who still doesn't believe in casual sex. I've turned down multiple offers for that because I know I want a long term relationship, and to me- sex is a very intimate thing between partners, not just something someone does because they aren't strong enough to control their desire…

I think it depends entirely on your energy and where you are. If a woman feels cornered, they're going to feel afraid or creeped out. If there's plenty of people around and you just confidently approach her by telling her conversationally why you did so, and asking if you can talk to her and get to know her a little, then you have to be willing to accept if they don't want to and graciously accept the answer.

Lol that's comforting. Hopefully it's the former.

This just abusing someone's emotions for your own gain.

I disagree, only because if you are interested in someone and are going on a first date, neither of them owes anything to the other, and it's a good place in public to talk and get to know each other. More casual.

I'm new on here. What does N count mean?

True. I also notice that this just gives "transactional approach" where a guy expects you to give him something in exchange for his effort rather than actually wanting to get to know you as a person.

EXACTLY. Just because you call yourself a good person, "Good" is subjective. However, expecting that being chivalrous will make a woman fall head over heals for you immediately is insane. Turns out- women do like chivalry from someone who makes them feel safe and who they can trust. The problem is that these guys don't want to be consistent. They want immediate reward for what is often false presentation of care.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/26 11:17 PM

Okay at first I was kinda with you, but something put up a red flag- how about instead of teaching men that they're inherently unwanted, just change the system they live in so that the focus of relationships isn't about money and success, and rather about genuine connection with someone. I think you definitely hit the nail on the head in a way. Men need to learn to control their desires. They act like they're entitled to have those desires fulfilled, and that's not the case.

Lol aka - one of the ways Patriarchy affects men that they instead decide to weaponize against women.

It gives- I have no emotional literacy or empathy.

Yeah, loads of guys like to live life pretending like they can't control their desires. To me, it's bordering the "well, what were you wearing" mentality.

"What?! You mean to tell me we can't send the poors to die for my profits and Geo-Political dominance?"
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/26 10:57 PM

Yeah, I think many men tend to ignore the way Patriarchal systems harm them too, and would rather turn to women and yell at them like they're the problem.

All I have to tell you is this- if a woman has an ectopic pregnancy that could kill her AND the baby, numerous states in this country would either demand that she die from it, orwould put her in jail for murder if she got the @bortion to save herself.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/03/26 10:52 PM

This is what I did. So far I've lost 88 lbs, my emotional literacy has improved, and my mental state is slowly improving.

I disagree that men should just sleep around. I think men should have far more self control over their desires. However- I do agree that in a society where men are expected to do all of the work trying to establish relationships, it's harder for us to tell if we're desirable or not.

Yeah, social media is a huge poison to the dating world.

I think this has more to do with men who know they would be a good partner also having self esteem issues and confidence problems that don't make them attractive, but they blame it on women.

That's a very small, but very loud vocal minority. Most women have reasonable caution or safety boundaries when it comes to meeting a man they don't know.

There is an irony to it all. The same women will peddle Neo-Liberal Feminist ideology at the same time, all while reinforcing nonsense they claim they want to end. I'm convinced a lot of it is griftng for clout.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
