Insurance is for health, but tax implications for life insurance are an issue too. For inheritance, anything passed to a non spouse or related dependent is taxed heavily as income. For tax benefits, there's no way to see the increased benefits of marriage such as higher combined deductions than for two single payers, and higher tax free contribution limits for married couples. I'm really surprised that his boat's captain didn't grant him emergency leave and helovac him back to base for this. The actual financial costs really only add up to the helo fuel and a few incidentals. A crew member suffering through this kind of situation is a drag on the moral of both crews and can cause the effective performance of the boat to decrease for a long time coming. 2	Obama finally working on a program specifically to help young minority(black) boys --- People ignoring all the exclusive women and girls programs cry afoul. My take is, if there is particular demographic that routinely lags and requires assistance, by all means, target them. It is much more cost effective, in combating any particular issue, to target funds for those very specific issues.
