1	Marriage should be illegal Chill. I was referring to specifically wealthy couples. Not all housewives are trophy wives btw. And a lot of wealthy husbands aren't telling their wives to "shut the fuck up and make sandwiches." You're a fool if you think otherwise. 2	Marriage should be illegal true but those restrictions played a huge role in getting us where we are today. the catholic church of Western Europe was huge on restricting marriage i.e. some marriages deemed illegal because too closely related (7 degrees of separation at some point, then lowered the number to 4 I believe). And of course the church barred divorce completely. Other parts of the world it was ok to marry your cousin or sibling, although wouldn't gain you many in-laws so wasn't as practical for commoners.
