http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2006/may/21/schools.education The source of the report is in the text, along with some other less happy statistics. Could be due another update, however. The trust which did the research has some more information here if you are looking for it: http://www.studyofadolescence.org.uk/research/intro_details.html other reports by the same trust with methodology: http://www.studyofadolescence.org.uk/reports/index.html Feel free to share your sources now.

And that, my friend, is also known as you not having any information with which to form real counter argument. Exactly what's your source for this, and why is your source more valid than mine?

Not in the UK actually, but being 14 and having sex with say, a 16 year old is still miles away from being 14 and having sex with a 30 or even 20 year old. If I had a daughter or son having sex with someone at 14 I would certainly be worried but if they were both of a similar age and responsible I think I would just have a very stern talk. Now if a 20 year old man or woman was sleeping with my 14 year old I would wonder what the hell was wrong with them and then promptly call the police.

And yet despite that mightily important difference, I still wouldn't want one anywhere near my children...

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
