But in all seriousness yes refusal often makes the dude upset, at which point he spreads around the idea that you're prudish or narcissistic or something, resulting in being judged by those around you on a daily basis. I mean, to the extent this happens at all,, most people grow out of it by the time they're out of school, tbh it's people who constantly talk shit about others behind their backs and spread rumors about intimate details who are much more likely to be judged. And for good reason. I…

Normally I'd be curious for an explanation, but then I remembered that your idea of sex is multi-hour furry hentai jerking sessions, and I realized that's its probably for the best that you think this way and never have actual sex again.

Who fucking cares? Is "society" in the bedroom with you while you make the decision? You are not going to be brought before some societal panel and judged for not having sex you didn't want. Your neurosis is not everyone else's problem.

The problem is that there is a no agreement on what "good personality" means. People talk past each other arguing about morality and good citizenship, as if that's the point of the conversation, or has anything to do with "personality." We should use the word "charisma" instead, since that's what women actually mean when they talk about "good personality". And morally ambiguous "bad people" are often very charismatic, and thus attractive.

These things take time. I've started hearing the term "red pill" on normie podcasts and YouTube videos, slowly it is seeping into the general consciousness and made more palatable. FDS's core ideas are old, but I would argue is a much more agitated and vitriolic manifestation. Like Stepford-esque The Rules views on sexuality crossed with radfem rage and energy.

They're both a step beyond disorganized venting and into decentralized emotionally toxic "support group", which really means neurotoxic echo chamber. They're just one step away from organized ideological political movement and two from fully fleged cult.

Men are competitive with each other whether women are around or not, your female solipsism notwithstanding. STEM nerds, D&D geeks, and gamers are highly competitive with each other despite women rarely entering their spaces, along with men in more masculine pursuits like gun nerds, hardcore military personnel, auto mechanics, and obscure virtuoso musicians, despite women similarly having minimal interest or presence in these communities. Obsessive excellence and competitive dominance are inheren…

women are going to do what people always do when they believe themselves helpless: complain a lot and take no action. This is FDS in a nutshell. Well said, but I want to push back on your conclusion here. I don't think FDS women perceive themselves as helpless, but, rather, as so inherently superior to the point of not needing help at all, besides maybe to learn to stop giving away their time to any but the best. Because, in the FDS worldview, all FDS queens inherently deserve the best, obviousl…

I think the distinction lies in the words "attempt" or "approach". These guys were my friends so I have a lot of sympathy for their situation. Many undoubtedly have some degree of mental illness and other issues. I'm not trying to drag them through the mud, but their behavior and attitudes deserved criticism, and I was real enough with them to tell them the same things, sometimes straining our friendship. They would tell me and their internet friends that they "tried" but I saw what actually hap…

99% have never approached dude, which is probably your point. I've known several irl. Most are total loners, who cycle between work/school and gaming at home endlessly. The few who manage to have female acquaintances through work or school sheepishly orbit these girls, and when nothing comes of it and they see her go off with a series of "assholes", they grow bitter and retreat to internet forums to bitch and circlejerk.

The premise of the entire thread is that straight men engaging in sex counter to their sexuality for benefit is equivalent to a straight woman engaging in sex in line with her sexuality for benefit. Testosterone is the difference apparently sufficient to make up for the customer being of the wrong sex. Gay for pay does exist, of course, but as far as I can tell, there are far far more female sex workers engaging in undesired sex for financial gain. So the thread fails according to that standard,…

Gay male sexual feelings are not applicable to straight men. This is tantamount to gay male erasure. Or, at the very least, agreeing with tradcons that homosexuality could actually be a choice, instead of an inborn, unbidden, fundamental difference. How primitive.

I get that, but you never know when a rainy day might come and you need a large sum all at once. Having savings does not mean you have to be materialistic. Q4GenZ: How does it feel to be bestowed with the title of the final letter in the alphabet, AKA the last generation we need to officially enumerate, what with the simultaneous calamities of plague, wildfire, and economic depression poised to eradicate us from the earth in spiritual cleansing. We might as well be called Gen Omega. I'm a 90s kid, so not really sure if I count as a young millennial or old Gen Zedder, but it was 65 degrees and breezy in the northeast today, and I feel fine.

Their beef is that he beat them at their own game. They like to pretend that any man who doesn't cave to their entitled demands and lay prostrate before them must be an abusive LVM asshole. Instead, this guy, although a little pompous, was gracious in declining to play along, and this shatters the FDS ideology that all men must be as calculating and cynical about relationships as they are. Women are sexual solipsists, as in all things. Even in hetero sex, the quality is measured by the woman's pleasure. Lesbian sex merely eliminates any other possibility.

How do you define mentally ill? I wonder about this a lot. Is mental illness any deviation from the norm or does it have to adversely affect one's quality of life? I've known many people who credit their abnormal psychology for increasing their enjoyment of life, at least in select ways.

Does anyone here remember Unidan? I was reading that post today about phosphine gas on Venus being a potential biomarker, and the top comment started off with "Astronomer here!" which, swap Biologist for Astronomer, is exactly how Unidan would begin every parent level comment he made, down to the excessively eager usage of exclamation points. In the same way that ER demonized women for their sexuality and the power it had over him, you demonize men for their sexuality, demanding that he never express it to you or ever have any leverage over you in order for you to return his love. It's fear, disregard for another's desires, and dehumanization of the other to protect your ego. So yes, i would say you have some narcissistic tendencies. And more similarities to ER than you're willing to admit.

Two factors: People are unnecessarily edgy anonymously on the internet because there are no consequences, and this place in particular is a drain catch for repulsive personalities of both sexes. The majority of children born in this country (and particularly in your neck of the woods) are the result of stupid immature teenagers and young adults fucking around with no regard to the consequences. Most pregnancies are unplanned, and most children are born out of wedlock. Somehow I don't think having children is proof of maturity; often its just the opposite. What would you say are the different causes for the rising young male struggles with sex and dating? The community is definitely part of the issue, but its more symptom than source IMO. The whole mess is a self-referential negative feedback loop, worsening over time. But the sexual marketplace disruption we discuss here is just one corner of a widening inequality gap that extends across multiple dimensions - economic, social, and technological. We are just starting to see some of the long-term consequences of our post-Internet society. Everybody competes against everybody now, so nobody can rea…

Maybe not, but I doubt the 1st degree charge for the first shooting is going to stick. Its clear from video he was being chased on foot by Rosenbaum until being cornered, and that someone else fired a shot before Rittenhoise fired four towards Rosenbaum, who was also, according to eyewitness testimony in the police report, reaching at Rittenhouse's rifle trying to grab the barrel. Nothing about that indicates premeditation.

He was definitely dumb and breaking the law by carrying that rifle as an unlicensed minor. Looking for trouble certainly, but the events do not indicate that he set out to kill from the start. All that said, the police allowed several business to burn the night prior to this incident, including the one Rittenhouse was interviewed in front of prior to the shooting.

Their prior criminal records are relevant because they provide context for their violent actions, as well as speaking to the sort of people emboldened by the unrest--people with past negative encounters with law enforcement. That Rittenhouse didn't know about their records is irrelevant, since that isn't why he shot them. Also, the incident is not being touted as some kind of extra-judicial execution, but defended as an instance of self-defence. By watching the various videos, it's apparent that…

Would you say though that there are common underlying characteristics that remain constant, even if the surface appearance changes? Things like masculine body ratios/facial ratios, height, dominant frame and high social status. These basics of female attraction never change, only the presentation does. In other words, boys you were attracted to while young likely grow into men you find attractive now. They're still the same Chads, just instead of skinny edgy rock star Chad theyre now rugged musc…

Manson was also a narcissistic dark triad musician. The general public will always find outsiders like him morbidly fascinating, but he was only actually attractive to equally fucked up people. His family was made up of addicts, girls from broken families or hyper-religious fundamentalist backgrounds. They were primed for idolatry by their disturbed origins. Its not really a viable option for normies trying to fuck other normies.

Nah dude. It's a little more complex. Men take more investment and business risks, which can be costly, and also spend more money on big ticket items like cars. But women spend more on consumer spending by far, spend more time shopping, have less in savings, and incur far more debt.

Multiple girls have called me daddy unprompted; I have never suggested it to a partner. Not my thing at all, but whatevs, they're into it so I roll with it. I love how this is trying to foist the responsibility for the popularity of this kink onto men when its clear to anyone who fucks women (especially young women) that they are the ones with the fucked up daddy/little girl princess complexes. Women are the true sexual degenerates.

Women here always say this like its some kind of gotcha "you can fuck men just like us hurr durr" As if it's comparable at all As this sub proves, plenty of women happily identify themselves as sluts. So its pretty clear men don't have to resort to fucking each other to have casual sex. There are plenty of low self-esteem women to fill the void, provided you aren't some loser incel and have even the slightest inkling of social intelligence. Which honestly isn't that high of a bar at all.

I don't think that's the whole message, the core of it was "boys will be boys" Just the usual overly simplistic men=villains women=victims dichotomy, while also placing the responsibility for the actions of a minority of bad actors on the shoulders of all men. Very typical self-righteousness and lack of introspection from toxic woke-ism. This ad actually made a decent splash on social media at the time, IIRC. There were several articles written about it.

If you want to break it down like that then it makes more sense to think of choices as being shallow or not, rather than people. People are flawed and self-interested by default but can still make altruistic choices. Similarly people can be more or less driven by shallowness as reflected by their choices; but human sexual nature is what it is. Shallowness is a baseline trait of human sexual agents.

Maybe you're a little older than I am, but, at least in my circles (which had a healthy mix of men and women), I know for a fact that the…

I will grant that Japan apparently is seeing a spike as of the last week or so. Your point about New Zealand doesn't really discredit mine, though. They may never have mandated masks, as we haven't either, but their government wasn't as duplicitous as ours was, and never actively discouraged their usage as far as I know. Speaking of 'we' and 'ours', you may be an expat, but you know I was talking about your native country, aka the only country anyone on this sub actually cares about.

This is a gross misrepresentation of the sequence of events. Government officials intentionally mislead the public about the effectiveness of masks of any kind at stopping the spread, purely to cover for their lack of preparation and resources. There was never any question that masks or facial coverings were effective, until our government lied to us to cover up their incompetence. This is why Japan and New Zealand succeed in controlling the spread, and we failed. What doctors do under normal ci…

I genuinely believe the female sex drive is a social filter and massive motivator on a macro scale that most people will never really fathom. It isn’t SUPPOSED to be easy I agree with this, but this sub is a testament to the futility of trying to explain this macro perspective to women. Any systematization of of their sexualities or motivations is anathema to them, and this is the essential female narcissism--not whatever OP is talking about. Why not Because motivations can be complex and multifaceted. Not always, but sometimes. Not seeing the connection here. In my analogy, you take classes that you're interested in, generally. So you dont just care about the grade, you care about the subject matter too, independent of any grading system. Similarly, if you approach a girl you're interested in, you cared about her before you ever had any expectation of reciprocation; you care about her because she's funny or says smart things in clas…

All relationships are transactional, but this doesn't preclude authentic emotional investment without guaranteed return, or willful vulnerability. Think about it like writing an important term paper or final project. Technically, you are doing it mostly for the grade; but, if given the freedom of choice, the professor expects you to pick a topic you have genuine passion for, as she/he expects this to draw forth your best effort. The first and most successful example of a species domesticating themselves was cats. Yes, refer to my other comment on this thread. It was my understanding that this isn't certain knowledge though, just a persuasive hypothesis. One of those mysteries behind the shroud of prehistory.

I can see that. I've read some Nietzsche but not that work in particular, I'll have to check it out. All sexual interaction is manipulation. Both sexes are attracted to, and thus susceptible to, manipulation. This is because manipulation embraces plausible deniability, which permits the illusion that 'it just happened' as well as a degree of mystery, which is inherently erotic. Mostly everything in society is structured the way it is because men created it or allowed it to be that way Unlike the well-established female hivemind, there is no default in-group preference among men. The larger over-arching goal for a human being is having a family and raising children This will always be on the cover of the brochure for The Meaning of LifeTM , but I always thought that the one cool thing about being a human was that you can contemplate the nature of existence objectively, and reason yourself into some other creative pursuit, like shitposting on the internet. The pure subjectivity of mindless reproduction is the do…

Oh ok. Very cool. Yeah, just based on these two comments I think you'd find Jaron Lanier's thoughts interesting. He's a computer scientist and virtual reality pioneer turned public intellectual. You can search him on YouTube and find a wealth of his lectures but here is a good start where I believe he mentions that exact phrase, social media sites as skinner boxes: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lsNF4KfmwkY&t=3028s

That’s why sex toys for straight men is not a huge market as compared to sex toys for straight women. Proof that women are the true degenerates. Men just want authentic and romantic connection with real human beings. What assholes.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/07/20 12:15 AM

I seriously doubt any women here does. Women already believe this is the case. The two sexes exist in literally irreconcilable realities. It's why so many of these conversations end up going nowhere.

While I respect your motivation for keeping these toxic outlets away from your kids, I cant help but think isolating them in this way is only going to make them more likely to rebel and dive headlong into our frivolous zeitgeist, just to spite you because that's what teenagers do. I say this as a kid from a repressed, cloistered, no-phones-no games-no-fun upbringing, which just made me go super hard on the recklessness once I got out.

More women would probably be willing to go into trades if hostility, harassment and rape disappeared Lol beyond the fact that it is ridiculous on its face to expect that more women are actually going to want to become plumbers, welders, and mechanics, your seething contempt for these people is emblematic of how most women feel about the trades in general. You consider the work beneath you, and tradesmen to be subhuman animals, unable to control themselves. Last I checked, sexual harassment was a…

I agree. Its very telling that most of the women regulars here are old and married. I feel like SMP analysis doesnt naturally occur to women until they're older and off the market. And of course by that point they are too disconnected from the reality on the ground to have an accurate perception. When they are young they are too busy just enjoying the ride to think critically about it.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/06/20 12:53 PM

The only people here who argue against this are women. Men here are always saying that women use IG to curate orbiters, and to select a certain minority of HVM who they contact through DMs. We've all seen it. It's PPD women who like to claim girls are not using social media to hook up with attractive men.

But I know its different. It's just hard to explain to outsiders.

My SE Asian immigrant mother is a great fan of that show. I personally have never watched it due to discomfort about its implications of the nature of my existence being nothing more than a weird geopolitical and economic compromise between colonial power and vassal state. To be fair though, my dad was an American soldier on deployment. So he didn't just lazily mail his bride in; he tapped the source directly. This seems more legit. This is what I tell myself to make me feel better.

I will concede some ground on the CDC statistics. I delved a little deeper on the methodology and downloaded the NISVS report these statistics are based upon, and it states 19.1% of women surveyed claimed to have been subject to either completed or attempted penetrative rape at some point in their lifetimes, with 1.2% stating it had happened at least once in the 12 months prior to the survey. I dont quite understand how they break the numbers down further because, if you look closely, it shows 1…

No problem. You're the genius who didn't understand the the difference between a woman having sex with 20 strangers and having sex with one person while in a committed monogamous relationship, so I know you need a little help navigating the basics. /r/PurplePillDebate23/06/20 09:25 PM

Well here's a stat stating about 2.4% of males in the sample were proven to have committed rape. So my bad. 97.6% of men aren't rapists. Your turn.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/20 09:02 PM
3

Well, your evidence is also anecdotal. If this happens so often to you and people you know, perhaps you are all being raped by the same few men. The vast vast majority of men are not rapists. Like 99% If it has happened to you that much then I dont understand how you weren't able to gather evidence from your attacker and bring it to the authorities.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/06/20 08:34 PM

You have yet to provide any evidence for this rape culture. How is it that in my life, I, with female siblings, female friends, female classmates and coworkers have never met a woman who has claimed to have been violently raped. Neither do these women in my life know anyone who has been raped. There has been some catcalling, inappropriate remarks in the workplace, and even a lowkey stalker, but absolutely nothing that even approximates penetrative rape. Why are women always so quick to downplay events like this when they're increasingly common? Rape is also horrible and extremely rare. inb4 muh "1 in 4 women have been raped" Anyone who seriously believes that is credulous to the nth degree. One wonders how they even manage to get out of bed.

There are group bonds between men, just no monolithic universal group identity. that men are almost always attracted to personality types very similar to a mother/mother figure or sometimes a sister I mean, virtually every woman is either a mother, sister, or both, just because, like, that's how biology works. Firstly, because that is certifiably insane behavior, and secondly because if you live with or even spend a few nights a week with a romantic partner it is 100% impossible to hide what you real…

No but I do have a gf and female friends and family members. At least where I am from it's pretty common knowledge that women are more vocally emotional than men. With wider range and color. Men typically only express enthusiasm or anger.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/20 12:57 AM
1

But that wouldn't suggest that women are naturally less likely than men to externalize their emotions, just that they get pushback from some other women when they do. So it kinda suggests the opposite; women love to externalize their emotions. Which is what common sense and daily life experiences would suggest.

but they internalize and eat their emotions more than men, so no one sees it. I always see women say this, but then also claim in a different argument that female friendships are much closer and more emotionally satisfying than male friendships, for exactly the reason that they can be emotionally intimate with one another. So which is it? On the other hand, the only place I see men externalize their emotions is anonymously on the internet. I would think my friends had no emotions at all if we di…

Glad you mention the word “selfish.” Everyone from PUA to now from Blue to Purple to Red from Manson to Tomass has stressed that selfishness is attractive. Maybe even that it is attraction itself. Yeah, this is fascinating and an underanalyzed aspect of RP. There is a self-sacrificing streak which is inherent to maleness; a man is primed by nature to appreciate the beauty and honor in giving himself up for something greater. It's easy to see how this trait could be favorable and thus selected fo…

I'm glad you brought up the flip-side. I don't deny that women have their own unfriendly confines to navigate in order to be appealing but I do think that in general men give more leeway for undesirable behavioral traits and unsexy personality quirks. Men are shallow. None dispute this. But beyond this threshold men are more forgiving about character, which maps closer to one's 'authentic self' than appearances.

Despair is a great way to put it. The anger phase implies hostile misogyny; I never felt rage, just despondent that I'd never be at rest and content in my relationships with women. I don't think its an act, necessarily. For some it might just be superficial tactics and an act, but internalized it could enhance lifestyle tremendously as one adopts a new mindset for life itself, not just for success with women. This is very interesting, thank you. I myself have wondered if the sorts of women who respond favorably to the Red Pill persona are likewise damaged in just the right ways to augment their appeal for men. I always feel like this is just a case of confirmation bias, people only notice the failures and attribute the success to him being a 'natural'. I'm not so sure there's such a thing as naturals, just men who listened to the right messages and men fortunate enough to be born in a position of above average status.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/18 12:50 PM

Well, I meant paradox in the sense that the dynamic is totally counterintuitive for a lot of men. It makes sense on the surface that the road to an honest, fulfilling relationship with women is to be your honest, best version of yourself...until you actually try it. It doesn't help that women are fond of parroting this platitude rather than describing what they actually want
/r/PurplePillDebate16/07/18 12:12 PM

TRP guys can say it's true because it works, they wear the persona that makes a girl feel, but they aren't genuine. They're just a mask, a persona Yeah, the paradox here is that despite being artificial, women's response to it is real. I think a lot of the bitterness from TRP is just men who realize they will have to put on an act for the rest of their lives, because their natural selves are simply not appealing to women. When men complain about being loved only for 'what they do' as opposed to 'who they are' they are not indicating some kind of metaphysical distinction between being and action; they are talking in much more practical terms about the Burden of Performance, which is a uniquely male romantic role. The source of those assumptions about non-UMC women is the cohort of married UMC regular female contributors who dominate this place and have a vested interest in maintaining their perceived superiority over Becky the office assistant with the nicer tits. The only underclass women the terpers here bitch about are single mothers, and that's more due to right wing politics than gender issues.

I will actually try and engage you, OP, seeing as all you've gotten so far for your high quality (though misguided) post is lazy snark. Your affirmative title claim is that there is a conspiracy between feminine men and masculine women behind all the indicators of societal instability you've mentioned, but, in response, I would redirect your attention to the quote you closed with: “I’m certainly not denying that culture has exploited women,” he said. “But rather than seeing culture as patriarchy…

Caveat: make sure at least one of your passions is manly or artsy - no woman will ever feel the tingles for a really good programmer, alas. I'm not necessarily disagreeing with your overall point but this last line is so disheartening and technically contradictory with your earlier injunction to 'chase your passion give no fucks.' The real problem with MGTOW is that, for most men, it is simply impossible to eradicate the need for validation from women.

The inability to consent due to intoxication is not the same thing as revoking consent after the act. I think his point was that, in practice, this ends up becoming a distinction without a difference. As /u/TheGreasyPole has said elsewhere in this thread, the ambiguity of these policies, coupled with the ambiguity of what meets the threshold of something as transient and ill-defined as 'intoxication', has made it possible for certain interest groups to weaponize these codes of conduct. I think i…

Obviously it would be foolish not to learn from your experiences, but humans are equally capable of unselfish altruism and open honesty. Do you think anything qualifies as immoral to reality? Peterson seems to think that the beta hierarchy is inherently moral because it is meritocratic. If one extreme exists then surely the other does, no?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/18 10:40 PM
1

They do not? You don't think there's any overlap? I can see that being true in very specific circumstances, but it seems to me to be generally true that being popular with women translates to at least a grudging respect from other men. Inherently immoral means nothing What do you mean by this? If you agree with this judgment and think that women should be shamed for their sexual strategy then you must find it inherently wrong on some level.

I do not know exactly what Atlas is referring to in terms of it being "moral" or where these view came from. Well, that view came from me; not that I agree with it necessarily, but it seems to be the assumption implicit with TRP arguments that female sexual strategy, if unchecked, is detrimental to society. There is actual hierarchies(insofar as I can believe that sort of structure) of males that women pick from and there is a fairly consistent array of traits that can be noticed in its organiza…

Yeah, I remember from the Trump thread you and I agreed about Trump's beta status, and we caught some flak from Atlas. How Trump's persona could seem like anything other than a performance of a caricature coming from a very insecure place is just beyond me. But the second part is that there are external sources of power and hierarchy that result from property rights, rule of law, and the ability to accumulate. Property, capital and nepotism are the major engines of that power and hierarchy. I'm …

Yep. Hypergamy is enforced by competition within the female social matrix, not by elite men. This is because men can be more readily stacked in a vertical status hierarchy, whereas the only real metric for female status, physical beauty, is more like a spectrum of tastes and flavors once you get past a certain threshold. This is also why the ideal male sexual strategy is that of an inattentive polygynist alpha as opposed the female strategy of trying to lock down the highest man in the male domi…

A lot of guys say that if women didn't have vaginas, they would be useless. This is more about give and take in relationships. In the present climate, women are encouraged to be selfish in their interactions with men, sexual and otherwise, and they are told that their needs and feelings taking priority is moral and just. This is because someone needs to atone for the sins of men in the past; every religion must make sacrifices. The truth is everyone is useless until they demonstrate otherwise.

If a man wants to satisfy his polygynous urges, he should just tell his wife or girlfriend that he is going to do it and not do it behind her back. We both know this isn't how it usually plays out. It's the dishonesty and the hypocrisy of male polygyny that make it worse.

They're more likely to be forgiven because they just can't help themselves, biologically speaking. So, when women cheat, it's seen as a deliberate act, something that they could have prevented but consciously chose not to. Isn't this just male hypoagency? Most betas I know do fine sexually in relationships. They just don't get the large amounts of casual sex with different women that guys who are envious of Chad want. How much do you think typical pillsphere rhetoric is to blame for this? /r/PurplePillDebate10/12/17 03:12 PM

Sure, but there is not one master hierarchy. A beta in one context can be alpha in another and vice-versa. Even the most alpha-Chad serves some master somewhere. There's always a bigger Alpha. Why has beta become code for "weak, low-value man"?

Throughout most of civilization, the fathers have been defined as better than the sleazy Don Juans. I think a lot of the non-chads here place their self-hatred in the mouths of women. I don't think that's fair to women or to those men. I wanted to discuss the positives of betas. I think it's taken for granted around here that they are necessarily low-value.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/12/17 02:55 PM

I personally like "secure" for beta and "avoidant" for alpha, from attachment theory. I also like this. I stuck with beta since changing up terms would've just confused what I was trying to get across. I think a lot of let's say non-Chad guys here are extremely pessimistic about their viability in the SMP. Hell, pessimistic about their lives in general. I don't think that should be the case. Betas are absolutely necessary to society.

You'll never convince people that their personal experiences didn't happen; these are granular beliefs that will never change, and they're almost always connected to emotional events that are not responsive to rational scrutiny.

I'm not MGTOW; I look forward to marriage. It's hard to put into words why he "inspires" that in me. Yeah. It's like trying to describe what is meant by "Leadership". Are they made, are they born. Surely it means different things in different contexts. What does it mean to willingly accept leadership? In what ways does a leader communicate that they are deserving of being followed? Not all men view marriage as a trap. It can be edifying to some. If he takes the vows seriously, then the inability to leave easily is the whole crux of the thing. It appeals to the sense of "male honor", if that's not too hokey to invoke. He thinks to himself "I'll die before I leave this woman's side." It actually feels good. Most men are just looking for something worthwhile to die for.

True individualism is an oppressively lonely path; most need the help of others to bear the burden of trying to self-actualize. they rebel against their partners but submit to 99 masters outside the house People do this because relationships have been downgraded to a consumer choice that's just another part of the larger system; it takes courage to reject the dominant values of your culture.

I agree with this view of marriage. But I think that the word "mutual" obfuscates an important part of the dynamic. In marriage you submit to each other but in different, gendered ways. It's more complex than just meeting each other half-way, there are different expectations from men and women.

Guys that try to play house with an LTR will never get that sort of submission out of their women. Yeah I agree. That's why I think the red pill aversion to marriage is ironic; they're denying themselves the only way to get what they crave.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/12/17 01:10 PM

Why get married then instead of indefinite cohabitation? Doesn't marriage imply subservience to social prerogatives? A kind of ritual sacrifice of possibilities and thus freedom. I get why submission=degrading to many. Like Electra said, the word has a lot of baggage. Men are often the ones complaining about marriage being foolish here but I actually think it's women who give up more - presumably for the potential to get more of what she wants in return.

I meant mythical from the RP perspective. They have a tendency to conflate "beta" with anything unattractive. So when women talk about high or "Greater Betas" red pill assumes theyre just hamstering their attraction to someone who's really an alpha for the sake of virtue signaling. I don't agree with this, btw. AlphaBux is obviously the IDEAL man Isn't this class dependent though? Like in that /u/fiat_lux post a little while back, there are different dimensions of character you can be either alpha or beta along. An Alpha in one context can be Beta in another. My partner and I were never friends first, but we are now. Right, that's what I'm saying. In my opinion, the best relationships start simultaneously as friendships and sexual attraction. In my view this immediately disqualifies it as a "platonic friendship." I like them, I just don't need them. Yeah. The beautiful irony of mgtow is how overwrought of a production it all is to try and simulate what women embody effortlessly. Men here complain about women's sexual liberation constantly and apparently fail to realize that women have always had relative sexual freedom; it's generally men who are slaves to their sex drives. All of the people I've known who were truly free from sex were women.

Some men just really don't fucking get it. You can see how this behavior comes about though, right? Even from otherwise ostensibly intelligent guys. I'd argue a decent subset of these men who "don't get it" have just taken an overly-cautious blanket policy of enacted obliviousness out of fear of being mistaken and causing a scene. Like the parent comment said, sometimes even getting a number doesn't really mean you have a green light and nobody wants to be the kind of creeper you describe that t…

Risk is something men should embrace, but only if the reward is possible. Agreed, but I would also add, "if the reward is proportional to the risk." I think the MGTOW people are exaggerating about the future of their movement but I do agree that there is a growing trend of men looking at their prospects on the SMP (rejection, humiliation, and potential character assassination) and deciding that it's just not worth it unless they find their unicorn. And like the other person who replied to you sa…

It is difficult for even the most confident man to willingly walk into that. Yep. Especially with all the aforementioned tension due to recent news events. There's so much more on the line than just a wounded ego. Although of course many women will simply say that such trepidation is unattractive and disqualifying anyway so...there's just no way to win as a man without putting yourself at risk.

Also, don't women do this too? So how is it masculine? Yes but there is a characteristic manner of beta submissiveness specific to men which is what's being addressed when red pillers talk about being one's own mental point of origin. What exactly is at the heart of the question in the OP? How much of masculinity/femininity is inherent/biological and how much is about what you actually do. How much about how the opposite sex perceives you is actually under your control? I think this distinction …

What would keep the shy guy from saying that he will go to the cookout? Shy guys are usually apprehensive about all kinds of social settings, not just with the opposite sex. I've declined invitations before just due to social exhaustion, not because of anything to do with whoever invited me. Plus, if they're anything like me, large group social dynamics are not ideal for making connections or for showing off my personality; plenty of shy people really shine in small groups.

What do you mean by this. "Becoming your own mental point of origin" is a common concept on TRP. You see it a lot in Rollo's writings. It basically just means that in order to be masculine you first have to think about yourself and your desires as paramount, rather than the beta mindset of putting the needs of others above your own. Can you rephrase this? I didn't follow What I meant by this is that it's not at all clear whether following the red pill literally makes you more masculine or just t…

Yes but I feel like this misses the point of the study cited in the OP. It's one thing to say "we can literally turn back time", and another to say "we've observed some interesting, consistent changes in behavior that suggest that not all aspects of age are biological in nature." I mean, everyone knows aging is real; the whole reason this experiment was worthwhile is that it's presented some counter-intuitive findings about how much more there is to "being old" than just the length of your telom…

Well, just that there's no "general solution" so to speak, that will neatly quantify the exact amounts of biological or performative influence for every case; there are people born 100% biologically male yet present entirely female, and vice versa. They don't fit neatly into our simple binary framework and we have to expand the model if we want to explain what's really going on. Clearly these two categories are related but they don't fit neatly on the same axis. I think right now in our culture …

there is only one gender expression and performance, which is female Do you not think that the red pill actually has a lot to say about the importance of male gender "expression and performance"? I remember something insightful GLO said on TRP recently where he claimed that the red pill is basically one big collaborative liberal arts project in which men teach each other how to best perform masculinity. I see what you're saying, the roles of men and women are different and "success" at fulfillin…

I think the way this usually breaks down is "sex" is biological and "gender" is societal/performative. Obviously it gets more complicated as you can't completely separate the two and the areas of overlap are often highly contextual and relatively impervious to analysis, but this framework is probably applicable for the vast majority of scenarios.

How would you describe the 'red pill mindset'? What would your response to the top post I linked be about how it is actually blue pill which created red pill?

Red Pill (pre TRP subreddit) created "Blue Pill" to represent the most gullible idiots of society Do they have a point or is this just projection? Nothing is so hateful as one's former self.

There are, however interpretations which I agree with. If this is true then why not purple? Have your views shifted or moderated at all since coming here? It does seem like a backlash against those ideals in some ways, and not in others. You come across as somewhat sympathetic to 'red pill mentality'. Do you think they have a point? Is red pill an important check and balance against runaway feminism and liberalism?

Blue pillers think that the non-ideological aspects of red pill were also mainstream. If you are talking about subreddits and specific jargon then who cares. Fair enough, but I feel like you can't totally separate them from the real world. Where else are these debates happening as intensely?

I don't claim our society is perfect but romanticizing the primitive and damning the modern is the kind of solipsism that speaks of someone who thinks having a pot-plant in their inner city apartment helps them "commune with nature." My point was that both pills have their own version of primitivist romanticization. It represents an ideal that we betray through the discontents of civilization.

My point is that neither side does. They're more similar than they think
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/17 02:22 AM

Nope. One of the founding BluePill principles is the disbelief that sex is in any way systemized. They believe it to be essentially magic and that success with the opposite sex relies primarily on personal regard/attitude towards them. Ie. "you can't get women because you don't respect them!" How does any of this disqualify it from being a marketplace? They're just dictating their price. You were the one who chose to pay it.

RP men in this thread are claiming that they formerly believed that being conscientious, decent, and obedient would attract women. Why is it the rest of the world's fault that these men failed to see the signs? EDIT: sorry, "presented" not "presently"
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/17 10:04 PM
1

Fair enough. My question to you then is what is the difference between "malicious conspiracy" and "systematic effort"?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/17 10:02 PM
7

I guess I'm mostly basing this on that other thread earlier. There were a lot of indignant replies there. I think someone even mentioned Disney as being in on it. This view is just alien to me; I never saw real life as being this pregnant with deception. Sexual experience seemed mostly the result of circumstance and opportunity. It's a fleeting thing you have to seize in the moment, and there are ways to increase the probability you have an opportunity that you discover through trial and error.

why have theory on the sidebar then claim that theory is irrelevant. Is it possible to have a praxeology without attendant theory as to why it works?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/17 07:18 PM

Being a praxeology somewhat preempts it from being an ideology. How so? TRP is marketed as a unifying theory of sexual dynamics with accompanying practices and codes of behavior. Is that not what ideology is?

I disagree that we are all systematically taught this. I think it's more accurate to say that several narratives are in play simultaneously. The "inner beauty is more real" argument is just a counter-current to the (in my opinion) much more obvious shallowness that's dominant in our culture, advanced by anxious adults who know deep down that they're prioritizing feelings over reality. People choose what to believe among these competing explanations, and those who test their beliefs are more like…
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/17 06:41 PM

The fault is wholly that of the man and his expectations, for they can never be met. So you agree with the OP then? RP diagnoses all men as irrational addicts and prescribes a half-measure to sate him as best as possible.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/17 06:19 PM
1

It IS Men's fault that they "expect" this - but they were taught to expect it...BY WOMEN (usually their mothers). This doesn't make sense to me. How do women teach men to desire something which, by your definition, those women have no concept of?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/17 06:07 PM
1

Why the tendency towards atavism then? I see a lot of RPers insist that this fate was foretold in our genes. Is it culture or biology that victimizes men?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/17 06:04 PM
1

I agree. Lewis says elsewhere in this comment chain that this belief in the reality of unconditional love is a curse bestowed on men by women, which I think is paranoid. Why not just say that we all have to grow up and learn to adjust our expectations instead of wallowing in infantile neediness and painting women as mercurial and heartless beings ignorant of love?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/17 05:52 PM
1

I think prior to this premise is the belief that casual sex is the optimal solution to men's needs.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/17 05:44 PM

How is it obvious to you that the fault lies with women and not with men's expectations?
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/17 05:37 PM

Does the RP way of describing the pursuit of sex sound at all pathological to you? Do you think it's likely that RPers might develop an unhealthy relationship with the unsustainable validation-loop casual sex provides? RP field reports read like erowid experiences to me, personally.

Red pill enthusiasts are fearful about relationships. They view them as a bleak zero-sum game in which territory comes at great cost and strategy and tactics are deadly serious matters. When red pillers assert the superior purity of male love it is the male hamster spinning the frailty and weakness of their emotional integrity into a blanket statement of female malevolence. Red pillers understand, as all men eventually do, that "oneitis" is a congenital condition of the male mind, an affliction …

Frankly I sorta just pulled it out of my ass, but I think it's fitting with the theme or image of this thread as I had preconceived it. This thread is about perspective. Most people don't even care about their partners unshared hobbies, men in particular. I think it goes beyond hobbies. For example, an apparently non-insignificant population of men who believe that women are shallow or "vapid" to the point of being incapable of love. They're not all incels; most of the big name red pill writers have at least once article dedicated to the emotional subdimensionality of women. Then again I, like you, don't observe these attitudes in real life at all really.

most of the time "he's so immature" means "he puts his own interests above mine, which I have unilaterally decided apply to both of us." I think this just goes to my point though. You're speaking for the woman by presuming to know what she really means and translating for us. I believe that the judgments "immature" for men and "vapid" for women can't be analyzed in and of themselves but have to be understood as distortions resulting from trying to understand the viewpoint of the other with only …

My point is that neither has more credence in reference to the other. They're different axes entirely and represent a real, fundamental difference between men and women. I think it's pointless to judge each other based on criteria that the other side doesn't even value. This is the supposed "extra-dimension of the coin" to torture my metaphor further. Men and women are operating on different levels and focused on different kinds of problems. We have to realize that to coexist.

The thread yesterday was definitely my inspiration but as others have mentioned it's difficult to find any users leveling this criticism per se.
