Yep, I wholly agree that this is symptomatic of an issue "further up the chain" so to speak. There's a hell of a lot wrong with the comment that kicked this discussion off, hence why I've made very little attempt to actually defend the content itself and rather just tried to translate it into an idea that's actually sane.

I think what they were getting at is that if you need to start doing porn so that you can afford rent and food, you're not "freely consenting" to it. Obviously this is not the case for many sex workers, but it's not a coincidence that the platform absolutely exploded during an economic crisis.
