Waiting on someone else to do the right thing so you’ll start to do the right thing is counterproductive. It’s starting to become more difficult for the hardcore misandrists to fly under the radar. Don’t give them the fuel to bring legitimacy to their hate.

In your social life, if you ever say something that is empathetic towards men, what’s the typical response?

I'm not sure you're saying what you think you're saying? All this say's is women who initiative violence against men are more likely to experience violence than women who do not initiate violence against men. This is not talking about women fighting back, it is about female perpetrators. As far as your second point, Also, here's a snippet from the second study (the paywalled one) you conveniently ignore: Denial of symmetry in perpetration is based differences in effects, not perpetration This is…

I’m so sorry you had that experience. That’s just salt in the wounds. Did you have any anticipation that would be the response to you?

I'm drawing inferences based on 60 pages of screenshots. I just don't understand how you can say, "cancelled immediately without any proof", when there's a mountain of proof? We can hold the idea that men are more harshly judged and sentenced by the media/courts without pointing to this obvious loser as somehow a "victim".

I mean, you made some conclusions without any information. He isn't getting cancelled, he is facing the repercussions of his actions. "he denies all allegations but of course he got cancelled immediately without any proof or verdict and now all the feminists are trashing him." I can see the humor in these white night types getting held up as hero's when they're the worst offenders. The producer on this film is also going down for a long list of "inappropriate" behavior. The irony of all of this …

OP needs to add this to their post. This is the 60 page lawsuit. This dude is an absolute loser. https://archive.is/2024.12.22-104612/https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/12/21/us/complaint-of-blake-lively-v-wayfarer-studios-llc-et-al.html

A bit of a tough read. I consider myself an egalitarian. I support trans, gay, women, men, etc. There is something about this that makes me wince. There is an air of “all knowing”, and speaking for men, as if their experience is identical to someone who was conditioned as a boy/man their whole life. I think he does have a perspective that is valuable, but could benefit a little more humility. There seems to be this overt message that men just need to be exactly like women but with a male body. I…

There is zero evidence to suggest women aren’t as capable or competent as men. Women (and men) not voting for a bad representative/politician isn’t proof either. However, based on exit polls, identity politics doesn’t seem to be working in the Democrats favor.

The only people who will call you a “pick me” are women who wished they were picked. Don’t worry about them.

“Male” nurse here. The depth of toxicity in certain areas of nursing is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. I’m thankfully in a great unit now but I have some bullying horror stories as I’m sure you do too. I’m glad you’re being valued at your new job!

Hi. I’m not proposing for or against it, just that it’s been consistent throughout human history. People are going to do what they want to do. I’m aware of the emerging population issue, ironically not having enough people. Does women dating/marrying men a few years older than them(on average) have a negative impact on birth rates?
/r/MensRights22/11/24 11:12 AM

Hi. Yes, when you look at heterosexual monogamous relationships, the average age difference is 2.5-3 years. The really interesting stuff is when you get down into the details. The differences in preference between men and women are largely explained through “mate selection” in evolutionary biology. Men have a biological al imperative to produce offspring. That can only happen with women of child bearing age. So, instinctually, men are attracted to those women, regardless of their own age. Women …

Polling shows that men on average are attracted to women younger than them, and women on average are attracted to men older than them. There is a strong evolutionary implication here, but that’s not the point. Your therapist making this comment is highly unprofessional and unethical. It sounds like she has some biases against men she hasn’t dealt with. Since 99% of therapists got their degrees in social work, it means they are steeped in radical feminism(my wife was too). There is also the arche…

lol. I wish I was young. Are you just making an observation that there are people who eat at McDonald’s that don’t respect the workers, or are you saying that it’s fine to hate people who are working low wage jobs?

It’s so strange when people watch porn, and then have so much contempt towards women who work in porn.

Hi. Do I think feminism fuels the culture war? Yes. Have I seen male advocates participate in the culture war? Yes. Right now it’s not even a war. Feminism absolutely dominates the public opinion. Have you seen any coverage of International Men’s Day today? No, because caring about men is not socially acceptable. Almost all of the women who are “popular” in men’s rights are former feminists. We need to welcome people, even feminists, if they’re willing to support the wellbeing of men.

Hi! What kind of similar arguments do you see? I can only find some abandoned 2x chromosome sub. Could link me to the one you're talking about?

Hey. No, I probably wouldn't engage someone who believes the world is flat in a scientific discussion. However, if a flat earther said they are starting to question their beliefs, and are open to a conversation in good faith, I would definitely consider that. They are more likely to influence and open other flat earthers to information that could change their beliefs.

Hello! Thank you for the work you do. Good on you for working through trauma to come out stronger. I think you are onto something about people associating their trauma with the demographic of the person that hurt them. I've had so many conversation where it was clear what they were saying or assuming of me was actually directed at someone else(another man). It makes sense evolutionary. Our brains are wired to identify patterns, and most of all protect us. If we were viciously attacked by a dog w…

Hi. Thank you for sharing this. The lack of concern for male suicide, homelessness, in incarceration, and poor health outcomes is certainly a sad state.

I hear you. I just think if our goal is to improve the lives of men, then having open conversations about facts is the most beneficial approach. If we want to be treated as individuals and not grouped in with the few bad acting men, then we need to treat others/women as individuals too.

Hi. Thanks for sharing. I think you will find a lot of conversations about how men are disenfranchised here. That has existed long before the last 12 months of the election cycle. In my opinion, I don't think this is the hotbed for people who voted for Trump, or at least any more so than the general public. Democrats banked on women, people of color, and young voters, all of which abandoned them compared to past election, and shifted farther right. Women, rightly so, have made huge improvements …

Wow. Thank you for sharing that. I’ve never had any personal experience with family courts, and I hope I never have to. I read of one account where a 20 year old woman raped a 14 year old boy. The state contacted him when he turned 20 to tell him he had a 6 year old daughter, and that he owes back child support for 6 years, from the time he was 14. There’s been a few other similar cases, and they’ve all been upheld by state attorneys. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/09/02/statuto…

I’m alluding to the fact that not all women are evil? If so, yes, I do believe that. If the goal is to improve the quality of life for men, that cannot be realized by falling into the same spiteful regressive tactics of the people who oppose us.

For sure. You’re right, some of these things are facts and statistics, and some are biases. There is a relationship between information, prejudice, and bias. For example, according to the CDC, 42% of women, and 42.3% of men report experiencing any physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime. That is a statistic. Men being assumed to be the perpetrator, and the woman the victim is prejudice. Institutions(government or otherwise) making services available for female victims of IPV(g…

Ohh ok. I’m not home right now but here are a few, some with citation, some without. Male victims of intimate partner violence or sexual assault often face skepticism or ridicule and are less likely to report abuse due to societal norms about masculinity. They are also perceived by society to be less severe or harmful compared to women. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8336931/#:~:text=Although%20male%20victimization%20is%20not,2020%3B%20Berger%2C%20Hines%2C%20%26 There are limited servi…

Do you not know of any, or do you believe they don't exist? I'm happy to have either conversation, I'm just a little confused why you would ask in a place that has 364,000 people strictly talking about biases against men.

100%. Just my personal observation. In feminist circles it seems censoring and silencing any idea that doesn't perfectly align with what everyone else believes is standard. Here, and other "male" oriented spaces(in general), I don't see that as much. I also see a lot of discussions where people will call out unfounded statements or things that could be considered misogynistic. There are no better people poised to change women's biases against men than other women.

Hi! Your input is definitely welcomed. That's great to hear the people close to you have been receptive. Is there anything in particular you think you did to make it more acceptable to these people?

Thank you for sharing. That is such an interesting phenomenon. I'm a "male" nurse. 90% of my coworkers are women. The amount of jealousy, bullying, sabotage, and slander I've seen has been incredibly eye opening. I feel so bad for women who get bullied by other women. I've seen nurses absolutely traumatized by the bullying of other women, all by people who's job it is to help other people...That is not to say all women and nurses are like that. Some areas are worse than others(ER's and ICU's in …

Ohh that's interesting. With mental health counseling being dominated by women (75% vs 25%), it definitely presents an additional barrier for men receiving adequate care. I once had a female partner who would yell at me for hours. I finally convinced her to see a therapist(as I had been for some time). After a while her therapist asked if I would join her for a session. Her therapist then proceeded to tell me that I am afraid of confrontation because of my upbringing(I had never met her until th…

Someone already said it. More than one thing can be true at the same time, and its almost always the case. "Your body, my choice" is sexist, misogynistic, and abhorrent as it was intended to be (imo). It is also true (imo), that the response to this is mostly overblown grandstanding, exactly the response they were looking for. I've seen posts about how "femmes should get a carabiner for brass knuckles", don't leave the house except for essentials, stockpile food, guns, and supplies, etc. The lef…

Any attempts at shutting down discourse is a slippery slope, even when that discourse is vile and hateful. First, giving any group authority to decide what conversations are allowed, and which ones are not, are certainly not going to go in favor of the minority party(in this case male advocates). Second, if people don’t talk about their biases they will never be challenged, and thus perpetuate the behavior. Let’s not fall into the same authoritarian practices of those who hate us.

Assuming you are a “male nurse” like me, there really is no other demographic that sees how prevalent misandry is in society, and how it is 100% acceptable in every situation.
