"Don't be so desperate" has a nuance of victim-blaming and the assumption that we are in full control of our environment and circumstances. Which we are not! Also, you can't just snap out of trauma, which definitely affects a lot of our decision making. I guess my point of view had more to do with just being fully aware of your motives. I fully agree with the sentiment that girls and women (me included) need to start raising the standard both on a personal and on a societal level. However, I think we also have to be very careful about not demonizing women and shifting blame onto them - especially knowing that not all women have the same level of support and education when it comes to standards and self-worth.	/r/FemaleDatingStrategy	14/02/21 08:52 AM
