This article supports gender roles rather than allowing for variation. The people you look up to in life don't have to be the same biological sex as you. For most people, the decreased rent for large spaces in non urban areas will come with a commensurate decrease in income and job opportunities as well. It's not really so much "changing" gender in most cases, so much as that your actual biological sex doesn't match what your -brain- thinks your actual biological sex is.
