They have been told they are a piece of shit all their lives by parents and peers, emotionally and physically bullied etc etc. Walk a mile in their shoes before you judge. If you had lived their lives you would be the same.

Okay fair enough. What I'm getting at is you literally cannot know what it's like to be another person. You take the motivation you have to improve yourself for granted. Take away that motivation and you become the very person you are berating, and someone on reddit may be calling you "pitiful", to use your own word. The only difference I can see between me and the people who make excuses for themselves are that I'm constantly working on myself to overcome what I went through The only difference…

I don't know you but I'm gonna assume because you submitted this post that you're reasonably good looking and always had a fairly decent social life. You simply don't know how much easier you have it than a guy who has been psychologically tortured for years by the very people who he needs to be accepted by at the most important developmental stage of his life. It's so easy just to say "If only these people had the right attitude". You're expecting someone to challenge you in a 100 meter sprint …

Some guys have been told they're good looking, always had loads of friends, attention from girls, loving parents all through their lives since they were really young. Contrast that with someone who gets bullied for years and years, humiliated by girls, and constantly gets called an ugly piece of shit and has shit parents. The fortunate guys don't get how the unfortunate guys can't do it and the unfortunate guys don't get how the fortunate guys do it. Some guys don't even have the motivation to t…

so that I can move on with my life? This is a fantasy, a happy ever after. Fucking an escort won't solve your problem because your real problem is the insecurity you have that you're shit with women. If you do this you're next problem will be "The only girl that would ever have sex with me had to be paid" I'm not saying don't do it by the way, go for it, but the only problem it will solve is your transient horniness, which will return in a matter of hours and can also be solved more frugally wit…

Yeah, looking back I was being a bit pedantic, it doesn't really change how you should act. Show intent, escalate. If you don't you're gonna lose. Whether we call it the friend-zone or something else is for pedantics like me to decide ;p.

Lol no worries. However you still seem to believe that a girl can put you in the friend-zone, as you say, "because I failed to make it known for certain I was interested ...". This is just impossible, as much as she might want her feelings for you to disappear, she doesn't have this power. Not saying she won't pretend to have done this. The friend-zone is exclusively for guys who the girl never liked to begin with. The problem is, guys will not express intent and keep talking to a girl who doesn…

plenty of women friendzoned me They either never liked you or they just pretended to friend-zone you to forget about you because they liked you and it wasn't going anywhere. The crucial thing is, they never stopped liking you and so you can turn it back around. With the myth of 'friend-zoning' you will feel as though all hope is gone. op is saying ..... No, this girl liked him but he didn't make the move so she pretended to friend-zone him so that she could forget about him and move on. Again, s…

I don't think that's how the friend-zone really works. The friend-zone is for guys who the girl likes but doesn't have a sexual/romantic interest in. One doesn't 'expire' into the friend-zone. This girl liked you in a sexual/romantic way but didn't want to see you anymore for whatever reason (because she was busy or because she was disappointed with your lack of escalation or whatever), but she wouldn't have just lost her desire for you, it was a conscious decision. There is a common misconcepti…

Thanks for responding. I wasn't clear. I asked her to come to the gym so I could see her in person and see what the mood was like and ask her out at the weekend. She flaked on coming to the gym (which is normal but I thought it was weird that she text me like 2 hours after we arranged to meet). I think she might be nervous because she thinks I'm expecting her to behave like she was when drunk (very uncharacteristicly). I just don't know whether to ask her out again (2nd time in a row).

Okkk update: The girl and I went out drinking with 2 other friends. As soon as we got in the club we were all over each other and talking emotional shit and about past times blah blah (known each other for years), told each other how we felt etc etc. Obviously it's never a good idea to get intimate with someone you actually like for the first time when you're drunk as fuck because neither of you will act the same when sobre. So I asked her to come gym (we have been going together for a few weeks…

I feel like I just read a romantic tragedy, I was waiting for it to turn around but it never did 😞. I'm sorry it didn't work out and I can wholeheartedly relate to this story.

Oh yeah we already tease each other loads and I feel like there's a fair bit of chemistry and it's totally natural. I've been touching a fair bit but she's not really the touchy feely type so where you would escalate reciprocating touches into a kiss, there's kind of a gap where she would be touching me back. Just gotta go for it really.

Thank you this was really helpful, you have restored some hope. Yeah I wanna make a move soon just to put my own mind at ease, I'm pretty sure she likes me.

Hmm yeah I guess the content of this sub doesn't really apply to my situation and it was fucking with my head. Are you a female? If so what do you think of my friendzone question?

So you didn't find it unnatractive that he didn't make his intentions clear quickly? You didn't think he was less of a man or indecisive? Also a question on the friend zone. In your opinion, if a girl likes a guy and he likes her but doesn't do anything about it, will she go off him and "friend-zone" him? I have an inkling that this belief is a slight deviation from the true friend-zone situation in which the girl never liked him in the first place.
