Not all rants and complaints are the same. It’s always good to know how to rant in a way that will be well-received by others. In my experience as a general trend, women tend to be better at appealing to people and gaining sympathy while men are often abrasive and sometimes even hateful when they rant.

How accepting will a group of women be of a man joining them?

This might be the good old apex fallacy (or not really apex depending on how you look at it?). In order to be desired, they need to be a woman who is above average in looks. Many women (40+%?) fall into this category, but it’s not even close to 100%.

You have found a relationship dynamic that has worked for you for several relationships, and that’s great! However, there is something I hope to put across in a respectful way. I am starting to feel that you believe your dynamic (man pays, woman supports and reciprocates etc) is the best or most proper relationship dynamic. It seems to be the best for you, but it’d be good to not project it on others, because the words you used give the impression that you look down on men who are not willing to…

I, too, want to date a woman who is excited about dating me and shows genuine interest in me. It’ll be good if she’s willing to pay for me and show that she’s truly interested. Whether she actually does pay is another matter (and I’d prefer to split so that I won’t feel guilty about it), but it’s great if she’s willing to! What I do find frustrating is that I described something that runs contrary to what traditional gender roles dictate. Hence it is not easy to find a woman to express her love …

I hope you realise part of being a stay-at-home parent is being a… parent? Talk to your kids and emotionally connect with them, teach them all the basic skills they’ll need later in life.

Let’s add in a third option: a man who’s physically small-built, cute, feminine, dainty, same height as the woman. I wonder many would choose him?

The presidency is won by popular vote. If a woman hasn't won the presidency it's because they haven't brought forth a candidate that America deems worthy. You do realise Hillary Clinton won the popular vote?

I would be willing to forward that there are no decisive advantages to either being a man or woman, rather there are many small advantages and disadvantages that roughly balance out. I agree, and that would be perfectly fair… if only we could choose which set of advantages and disadvantages to take on. There are differences between individuals. An individual man may find himself struggling with the male gender role. He could be thinking “I’d rather take on the female gender role not because it’s…

I understand what you mean and I agree with you. However, the purpose of my reply is to highlight to the person I replied to that her statement “whoever cares less has more power” doesn’t apply on an individual level. If men are willing to fuck just about every woman, women are “in demand” and that gives women the power to be picky about their partners. The fact that I (male) hardly care about sex does not give me any power because there isn’t a demand specifically for me. (Not that I need that …

I’m a man who has very low libido, probably bordering asexual. Where’s my power?

We could possibly interpret this anecdote as showing that women objectify attractive men more than men objectify attractive women. If women do not often do favours for attractive men and only seek sex from him, that’s sexual objectification. They don’t see the attractive man as a person in need of help in a non-sexual context. Men doing favours for attractive women shows that they still want to fulfil the attractive women’s non-sexual needs. This is not to say attractive women do not get objecti…

I don’t understand how feminists and man-haters stand to gain if women are convinced that it’s better to date younger men?

Another important question is, why is youth and fertility in men not valued as much as that in women? Age also affects sperm quality; the risk of birth defects increases significantly with the father’s age. It’s not exclusive to mothers.

You don’t seem to believe that people truly do wear makeup to feel good about myself. What if I told you that I, as a man, would gladly wear makeup for that reason if it doesn’t get me as much judgment as it would now?

Just a thought: Perhaps if it were normalised for men to wear makeup as well, we would have less debates of this sort. It seems to me that men don't understand women's motivations for wearing makeup because they've never been a part of it. When both genders get to experience it, it would probably be beneficial to inter-gender relations regarding the topic of makeup.

I don’t feel that this question has any meaningful answer. It all comes down to what you’re good at as an individual. Take some time to discuss the most efficient way to divide labour with your partner based on both your strengths and weaknesses.

I feel that it’d be better for me to handle the bulk of the unpaid labour at home. There’s no need to be too calculative; I’m choosing what I believe is the most efficient division of labour.

You typed a few long paragraphs to justify why you believe you are qualified in the matter, but without going into any specifics on how you’ll go about raising your children.

For me it’s not necessarily about the actual ability to protect, but the impression she gives me. It’s enough if she looks like she’s able to protect me. It’s a psychological thing. I can be paranoid at times.

I believe that the female role is more suitable for me than the male role, for a variety of reasons related to my personality and life experiences. It would be a more efficient division of labour this way.

If I want to play the feminine role, I think it’d be awkward for my partner to also be feminine. It’d be good for her to be taller and stronger than me. I’m 2 inches below my country’s average height for men, which still makes me taller than 70% of women, but my weight is below the female average.

Things would indeed be much easier for me if I was gay. It’s much more acceptable for me to play the feminine role. Unfortunately I am not attracted to men and cannot force myself to be.

I’ll start off by clarifying that this is my very first post on this subreddit. I have lurked here a number of times since last year but have never made any posts or comments. I appreciate your question about whether I could be a trans woman. I get this a lot and I’ve thought long and hard about it, and I’m quite certain I’m not. My utmost desire is to be allowed to play the female gender role, because it suits me better, without having to be female. This differs from a trans woman whose main de…
