it seems like without the commitment of marriage, it's causing resentment and anxiety for you (understandably) This^!!! And as already stated, completely understandable. I'm surprised he hasn't proposed yet.. maybe it's time to have that chat.

Honestly.. classical music. It's feminine, timeless, elegant. Beethoven's moonlight sonata first movement is beautiful. Start there. Franz Schubert and Dirk Maassen are also good. Classical music keeps the brain sharp too, look it up. It's great for kids, and good to listen when you're pregnant too. If I have a kid one day I'm definitely signing him/her up for piano lessons.

This is not a “great love story” with a sad ending. This is two people, at varying levels of relational dysfunction, hurting each other. Your comment brought tears to my eyes, in a good way. Thank you for saying this.

I learned the very, very hard way that you cannot force a man commit to you because my heart still hurts a year later. You just can't. This is a losing battle. Cut the severed limb instead of dragging it along and hurting yourself more down the long run. I've been there, not with a married man but with someone who wasn't over someone from their past, and you will not win. Just want to add.. Be high value. Let this go, that's the first step becoming it.

I love to stretch, read (books but a lot of reddit too!), and make some nice meals for myself. Isolation in small doses is great lol

In my opinion, taking a break from sex will only exacerbate the issue because then whatever he is already doing (watching porn, etc) that is hurting your sex life, this will only amplify. I think you need to have an even more honest discussion about his desires and why nothing seems to "work" on him. Maybe even bring up separation and see how he feels because to be honest.. you still have time to move on, focus on yourself (so important right now), and find someone you can have a stable, open, a…

I edited the post but I'll paste it here because your response implied that I was the problem. I think we both had our part to play. I'm leaving out so much detail here because I know no one wants to read long posts. He had done the whole "I don't want anything serious" at the beginning to consistently trying to win me over, even as going far as to drive to the city to show up at the lounge I was at but because he said "it didn't seem like I wanted to see him", he never came up and talked to me.…

I second this. Unless it was really getting in the way of sexual chemistry etc, it's only going to sound hurtful.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
