From my experiences in elementary school: Many of the female teachers I've had seemed to assume more of a mothering role. We weren't allowed to play overly competitive games at recess, and you were supposed to keep your marks a secret so the kids that didn't do so well didn't feel bad. This differentiates it from a lot of the modern feminism movement, where fact checking is often an overlooked step (I don't have any examples ready, but I think we can both agree on this).
