Women always try and "live their best life" after divorce. They dont want reality to sink in but it will. When all the newness fades and the money dwindles from the over spending, it will sink in. All their bad decisions will slowly creep up and they can't handle it. They start wishing for what they had. They start regressing, moving backwards toward what they had. But men are different. We get stationary for awhile. We deal with it. We stay alone, focusing on ourselves. Then we move forward. Ev…

If you have DV proven you likely can skip the separation period. If not, you will need to leave. A lawyer is the only one who can truly advise you. My state has the same requirement.

You never get cash back at a register? Its free. If youre grocery shopping and your total is $200 and you select $40 cash back your total goes to $240. You dont pay anything for that.

My other idea is to get "cash back" whenever I purchase something. She doesnt squint at how much we spend, but she would certainly notice large sums being withdrawn. So getting another $40-$50 cash back when I go grocery shopping would go unnoticed.

Im not trying to hide money per say. Im tying to build a small savings so whenever things do go south, I won't be drowning out of the gate. Its my version of a "go-bag". Where I live, separation must last a year before divorce can be filed. So I need to separate and then pay money to her. Without any savings, I won't be able to leave. Without being able to leave I won't be able to separate to get a divorce. So technically its in her interest for me to save. Problem is, in our dynamic, I can't sa…

Selfish and self centered yes. Maybe a horrible girlfriend/wife? I wouldn't dismiss that. But I've known horrible people in my day. Maybe that's objectionable based on life experience. But I've never seen her as a horrible person. Nothing she's done has ever been maliciously intentional. But extremely misguided and bad judgement, yes. Inconsiderate definitely. But I suppose my story is a bit one sided as I'm not entirely free of fault either. Relationships are complicated and both individuals pl…

Wow dude that's some mental gymnastics that I don't think even Olympian can compete with. Congrats? That's honestly impressive you are that absurd in your take on relationships and people.

Oh yea she's been a champ. It's been almost 4 years since her treatment ended.

It was by default. The best way I can explain it is the same way you would get a massive inheritance if a relative passed away? Out of your control but something that benefited you came from tragedy? You'd still rather have the relative back if you could. My wife never would have wished that on our kid for the sake of being a stay at home mom. She's in fact a fantastic mother. Our relationship issues were our own. But I knew when that happened how it would affect her going back to work.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
