I saw a picture of her on Facebook with her next branch, I have to admit that it bothered the hell out of me seeing that for the first time, but I’ve kept that to myself that's good you STFU about it. My wife had an emotional affair with someone who was much older and much more interesting than me. I wanted to strangle the both of them. But then I realized I was only really mad at myself for being in that situation.

When you realize that all anger is actually anger at yourself, amen to that and I find that logic extends much further- I'm not mad at my job for not paying me more- I'm mad at me for not getting paid more./deserving it.

This recently came up in my business, as well. Frame is everything. It pervades every element of my life and is, right now, my single biggest weakness. I can relate to this. My frame has been shitty my whole life and I have been very reactive, quick to anger and get bent out of shape. I read this last week and it changed my perspective on frame. I had to start becoming willing to be and remain in a positive frame and realize that it is 100% my choice, no one can alter my frame except for me. It …

OYS Week 4 32 yo- 5’9” 175lbs Married 12 years- 2 kids Summary of Week: About a month in so far and some of my biggest hurdles- like mental health and mood management- now seem very manageable. I held frame all week, I led by example and my kids are picking up on it. There is less wining and more chores (which leads into more play). I had an emergency visit to the dentist, followed by a tooth extraction and loads of pain over the weekend. Old me would have milked it, thought I had a good excuse …

OYS Week 3 32 yo- 5’9” 175lbs Married 12 years- 2 kids Summary of Week This week was another great improvement. My main focus has been getting my mental health issues in order and just being pleasant and stable. I didn’t yell all week. I meditated everyday. At this point I am feeling incredibly optimistic- everything else that went right this week was just icing on the cake. Moreover- due to some good talks with the wife and being a steady leader, she has really upped her game as well. My son is…

I think there is a guideline that states one month of MRP for every year of being a beta-cuck-slob- so- that would be at least 8 months for you- likely 13. Additionally, don't underestimate the power of actually talking with your wife like a person. I see sex as a good barometer of the deep mechanics of your relationship with each other. Likely- she is just not attracted to you in an exciting way, because you are not an exciting person to her. Keep up the dread, up the social game, try to game h…

Dude- having your childs mother take care of your child is worth many times more than 18k/yr. That's a very shallow analysis. Your child is not an economic machine- neither is your wife. Early childhood development is best done by the mother- at a certain age the child will benefit more from being in school or out in the world but at such a young age there is no apt substitution. Additionally, you refer to as your daycare providers as professionals- which is a pernicious designation as they are …

We did that a few years ago- moved to a place far away from family- other side of the country and all. Great decision.

I see a lot of parallels in your story to mine. One thing I had realized about dread is that the social aspect is the context needed for all of the other aspects to make sense to your wife. If she doesn't see you as a person that is exposed to other people, then it doesn't matter that you loose weight, because you are not real. Do you have a plan for leaving your current town?

The single best thing is that I like my day to day life. I like going to the gym (a little). I like going to BJJ. I like knowing what's underneath the surface of my marriage. I like fucking my wife. I like taking care of my kids. I remember talking to a couple of Norwegian girls a while back and they said the problem with America is that no one is content having a "little life". That everyone wants some big, glamorous life. When we are honest about what we want and get it- life is good. I, too l…

I recently came back from a business trip and my wife had a much older man over to our house. Theres a bit more to the story but she had an emotional affair. I was devastated. I had realized that in the past few years I have been the drunkest, most slovenly captain one can imagine. And that her behavior- while absolutely wrong and against our agreement- was predictable. I didn't have firm boundaries- I was pathetic. I have decided to give it another go while taking the reigns and to be in a posi…

glad you got 50/50 custody. With the recent shit I just went through with my wife I realized that in addition to oneitis I was not prepared mentally, financially, etc. to leave my wife and that was a big problem. A friend who was divorced about two years ago said "its pretty good on this side". He's light and free plus he a much better father to his kids now that he is living a life that is good for him. because above all, kids learn by observation. Seeing you masculine and happy will be very po…

I would agree with a lot of the responses here. It seems like she has noticed some change in you and wanted to see for sure. Hold fast and keep being the prize.

thanks. Small improvements every week is what I am aiming for. Over the past year or so I have made several attempts at a complete life overhaul and predictably gotten frustrated and regressed into old habits. In addition to setting out a path- focusing on just the present day- the next 10 hours is helpful to not getting overwhelmed. Have you tried hallucinogens or ayuasca before? The latter has particularly powerful antidepressant capabilities and it addresses a root cause of the depressive cyc…

OYS Week 2 32 yo- 5’9” 175lbs Married 12 years- 2 kids Summary of Week: This week was a huge improvement on the week prior. I have officially begun getting my shit together. I was out of town with some friends a few weeks ago and I had realized how shitty of a father/husband I had been. A very drunk captain, depressed and boring. While I was away my wife’s emotional affair came to light. You can read about it here. I was devastated and now that I have had time to process I have realized that I a…

that's a good post. I hear that. Basically I am decided whether or not I can move past this. Knowing what we know about women- it makes sense she would seek out the things that are lacking in our relationship- however she made a choice to be deceitful and had actually ignored my (pathetic) requests to not put herself in those situations. I would like to find a way to preserve my self respect and boundaries and re-enter the relationship in a better way, having my cake and all.

Yeah I hear you. She seems remorseful and that she genuinely wants to work things out. When I am around her that's all I want. I have been an emotional roller coaster the past few days and ultimately it has brought up some very deep issues for me, the core of them being "self respect" and "Boundaries"

OYS Week 1 Summary of Week: I returned from a business trip and found out my wife had been having an emotional affair with a much older man- in my house, around my children and I found out from my son. You can read about it here I have been having a difficult time dealing with it- she says she really wants to be together and wants to work on our problems. But I don’t trust her at this point. As far as my half- I have not been a good husband- while this doesn’t excuse her actions- AWALT and I hav…

thanks man- its been crazy listening to her hamster the last few days. Hell, my own hamster. This is a truth I objectively knew existed- just never thought I would have to face it. Where/how are you now?

thanks- I will check these links out when I get home. I will say that I have no problem simply being out and around people or even with small talk for that matter. Its as soon as it gets past the formalities and bullshit- as soon as things start to get more intimate- I want to puke. I see people just enjoying eachother and having these genuine personalities and I guess I don't know how to do that. I could go to a mall all day and meet people- be charming and bold. But anything past that is a pro…

thanks. My plan for this is as follows: do the self authoring program. Get out as much as possible- by myself, with the kids, etc. See a therapist ASAP.

thanks- I appreciate this viewpoint. and yes- my ego is very bruised. Actually it has been since we "got back together"- its been fragile. Its more than the ego, too.

thanks man. I tried tinder- heres the thing- I look strange I think. Very young for my age. Girls didn't match with me. Maybe when I get a six pack back I will do shirtless pics? fuck that's part of my problem is I have no confidence in my looks, the things I cant control. I changed my physique, hair and wardrobe and they are now looking great. but deep down is the problem.

yeah. I try to frame things for the best as in: this has brought up my deepest insecurities and made them a necessity. I have such deep, twisted fears of socializing- of people "finding me out"- that it hurts, physically. But in order to grow I have to go directly towards that very thing. I used to pull chicks super easy in HS and College- because I had no front and was laid back. Along the way of trying to be a good partner I let myself become lame as fuck.
/r/askMRP07/08/17 10:19 PM

yeah- thanks for that. I have gotten that insight elsewhere as well.

well other than the lack of social game- I have been working hard on other aspects. I see now that the social game is where all of the other levels of dread sort of come together.

in the last few months- between the time she "came back" and this- I have felt insecure for the first time in my fucking life and that word has definitely crept into my mind a few times. thanks, pussy.

so what I have done is tell her about my boundaries and that I need space. that small bit of dread is already working- if I decide I can get over it then yes- man the fuck up and steer this ship. Either way- I will start improving. Which I have been doing a lot of- just not in the social department. Which is I guess where all the dread really comes together. Just seeing it in the home gives the physical appearances no context. question: social anxiety fucking sucks. I go full dysmorphia and thin…
