Sounds like bullshit to me. Destroying or hiding property after one of the couple signals the intent to initiate divorce is basically asking to be taken through the ringer in court.

If you are aiming for 50/50 custody, and you're both working, child support is not necessarily a foregone conclusion. Don't agree to anything verbally or otherwise without first considering consequences and talking to a lawyer. Also my feeling is sending her a quarter of your paycheck could be considered agreement to some kind of payment terms, so you'd better stop that before it becomes the default position she asks for. Setting aside for divorce costs is a better idea. Good luck.

Just think how much easier that was than the divorce! If you had married her, it would have been one hell of a mess...

I'm sorry your going through this, it definitely sucks. Definitely join a gym and start working out. Enjoy your kids, start keeping a journal documenting everything you do with your kiddos. Get a good lawyer, and try to orchestrate the most amicable split you can through a give-and-take negotiation. Fighting to the death in court is good for no one.

My dude, you need to try and move on. If you guys are divorced then spend some time getting to know yourself and don't worry about what she's doing. I don't know anything about about your previous relationship but based on your post I can kinda see why she wouldn't be all that open to telling you what she's doing. Some ideas: - Go to the gym. A lot. - Dive into your work and hobbies. Try to remember who you are without someone around telling you what to do. - Find a group of people with shared i…

Sounds like a ridiculous request, you should tell her it's out of your hands because the divorce can't mandate something like that, and you should abosultely not give her unattended access to the house post divorce. If she disagrees and wants to fight it all you can do is take it to the lawyers...

There's no perfect answer, but take a look at Cordell and Cordell and see if they seem like what you're looking for. They specialize in representing men in divorce. Legal representation costs money, but investing in legal advice up front will save you a lot on the back side. https://cordellcordell.com/

Good luck man and thanks for your service. Fuck this bitch trying to steal your hard-earned veteran benefits. You're a hero and she can go back to Canada.

I'm going through the same, wife of 11 years decided she feels "alone" in our relationship and would rather be an independent woman. If she doesn't want to be married anymore, I'm not going to make her but it did come out of left field for me. We'd been attending marriage counseling on and off for about 2 years and I was doing literally everything the damn marriage counselors said, but wife just stopped trying. We have 2 kids together and are having to split stuff up which is going to suck, but …
