As long as you don't have deceit in your heart, and it's coming from a place of love and prosperity and for the sake of growth, I feel it should be ok. But if you are doing it out of spite, or to manipulate the younger person, or for shallow reasons like your partner no longer have sex drive becusse of medical complication during your child birth, then it's a problem. You could write a whole book about pros and cons and debate this topic endlessely. but the truth is no ones ever been happy by ma…

Buddy, that's fiction! Fiction can be anything. 2 competing traits can be contained in the same character and it still be ok! There is no real struggle, no real character development, it's just thinking about the present without past and future repercussions. For example I play video games, spend time in VR, or movies for the very same reason. To live out the fantasies I can never live in the real world. For example, if a character is the eldest kid in a broken household, statistically it's like…

Buddy, emotional and mental abuse is far more lethal than physical abuse. Every creature has its own set of defense tactics. Python while not being the venomous snake has the most strength and thus some vipers being slender and thin and lack in strength but are some of the most venomous animals. I am not comparing women to snakes lol. Or vipers haha. I am just saying every man is different, has their own strengths and weaknesses, the same goes for every woman also goes for men and women differen…

I disagree. Simply because you got the premise right but wrong ending. Men do put a lot of effort into getting women but it's not for women per se, it's for having a fellow human being in life, someone who can validate them, comfort them, and be a good companion. That's why there's a lot of cheating involved as well when these needs aren't met. Also once anyone has kids, it's more likely they take priority in a lot of families. Sometimes the validation can come through kids too though. Through l…

Op, have you ever realised how opinions are formed? It's very rarely an original activity. In most people it's from the material they consume, people they interact with. Only few are in a position to critically think about their opinions and form a new POV. I completely agree with part of your accessment. It's only biological and natural when women get to chose their partners. Every animal does this. But what if I told you, in humans, dating life has become capitalism. There are some men and wom…

Not entirely sure what you mean by age better, but going by a few things you mentioned about power, feminism etc. I am assuming you are talking about external appearance and interaction with society. First let's rule out the obvious emotional and biological aspects. 1. Women/girls mature faster in teens. This is a biological advantage over their peers. To avoid being taken advantage off. 2. The ovulation cycle is extremely resource intensive. They run low on iron frequently if they don't take pr…

Yes! I totally agree with this. Some women have unrealistic standards and some men don't wanna grow. Gotta find balance. Honestly I have had better success dropping some entitled dates. "Sorry we seem like different people, I hope you find what you are looking for". Trust me, men, gotta be choosy too. Reward good behavior and ignore/avoid/punish bad behavior.

I don't think it's just a belief, there's some science to it. But again it's not a strict 80/20 rule. It can have some wiggle room depending on societal and environmental factors. Women biologically are child bearing, and men are providers. So technically women can have kids with multiple men of their choosing. And hence they are naturally gravitating towards better providers. A long long time ago, it was strength that fascinated women, then came communication skills, then power, then money and …

I man needs domestication. That's the popular narrative that goes around. A man with no one depending on him, is a volatile member of society. They will take more dangerous risks. Be it physically, financially, or emotionally. Less concerned about what might be consequences of their actions. May or may not work as a team. I personally see myself doing more dangerous mountain biking/skiing/stunting when I am single. I am 30, presently single, and the total time I was single was 4 years since 18 w…

If you are nothing without the suit then you shouldn't have it. -Tony Stark to Spiderman. Although this physical suit in a fictious movie, it refers to so much more in real life. Be yourself is a perfectly good advice in a lot of instances in life. During the heat of the moment, it's unwise to pretend to be someone else. It's easy to spot weirdness when your actions don't add up. It also comes off as under confident if your pretending job is not on point. When someone says be yourself, they mean…

We live in the "Age of self expression". What does that mean? Everyone thinks their thoughts are the best thing in the world, THE SHIT, their thoughts are valid or key to all problems of the world or the ultimate truth. When they have a certain opinion and they express themselves on social media, they get some + and some - responses. And this is completely dependent on the mood of the public, what movie was recently released, are there any wars going on, humanitarian issues going on. If one gets…

I disagree with a lot of comments here. A lot say men don't have standards. It's wrong. Men do have standards but they are mostly inclined towards emotional/mental standards. Women have more inclination towards physical standards. You see these standards in play when the point of settling down is under discussion. I personally have been in 8 relationships, I am a 30 year old man and started dating actively at 18. My average is 1 year and 2 lasted roughly 2 years and these were only 2 that I was …

I am a gamer, I am in a clan for a pretty huge and demanding game. We have to raid lairs and explore dungeons. It's a complex mechanic and needs skills and takes a couple yours. So there are some mechanics they dislike and some like to do. When I am grouped up with certain people of the clan, it's all fun, it never feels hard or strain or stressful. The communication is flawless, the respect in an immense and fair split of tasks and rewards. Sometimes I do things I am not overly fond of and it j…

I downvoted you. Sorry. But sometimes people should move away from their self centered attitude. There is always a men vs women warn on here. How people come and say they have the worst hand at the game. OP was doing something nice here. OP was asking you to post struggles of the opposite gender and this serves multiple purposes. People spend time to think. They think about struggles of opposite gender. They may be empathetic. Compassionate. Others might learn new things. Please learn to be comp…

Ideally yes, but realistically this is just a cheeky line and nothing more. Apart from connections you made at kindergarten or until high school, the rest of the connections start transactional. Ohh they are smart, I want to be friends to learn. oh they are hot/cute/smart/popular I want to be their friend/date etc. Off chance, you find someone in your hobby class, airport, or office where while doing your own stuff you end up getting close to the other person and that's how a few relationships o…

It's all an eco-chamber buddy! What you said in your post, and what your post says about your perspective. Statistically speaking, most things in life form a bell curve/normal distribution. May it be morality, ethics, legal stance, or political wing inclination. There are crazy people on both ends but most people in the middle are average mean no harm, are trying to be center, morally, ethically, etc. ----------------------- Now let's say you have an idea and perspective. Anything can be a dating website if you are brave and smart enough. Yes, you can ask your coworker out. But there is a way to do it. Don't be dramatic. Be calm, express your interest. And also mention that you would totally understand if she doesn't feel like it for whatever reason. Once I only said hi and occasionally asked them how they were doing. Did hold a good eye contact. After few months I made extra efforts to say hi. 9 months later she hinted to go out. Asking someone out at the gym. S…

Thank you for your well-thought-out response to my observation/thoughts. OP replied to me too but with harsh language and big shallow words without saying anything of substance, I told them I was not replying to their replies. Haha, Irony right? Based on your multiple comments I can conclude you are not empathetic enough to understand others point of view. There is a reason it's said their body their rules. A abortion has devastating effects of women's body. The least risk being not able to be a mother ever again to having emotional/harmonal imbalance for decades thus stopping her from being a responsible adult. So I am gonna say this for the last time, if a woman baby traps you, yes she is responsible. But it's on you to prove she is g…

And who do you think pays for all this? Do you know how much tax money goes to child services? It's like 1 person created a problem and otherwise have to fall in line to help out. Here's a wild thought, How about men be a responsible adult? Done the deed, now pay up. Again I am talking in case of an accidental pregnancy. If there was Malice involved on the women's side, then yes, he shouldn't be held responsible.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/01/24 11:50 AM

Sure in an ideal work what you said completely makes sense. Bunch of reasonable people talking to other sets of reasonable people and coming to a common solution that's balanced and costs the same to either parties. Now let's come back to reality. I personally believe it's gonna create more confusion, more work and more wrong than the right you are meaning to implement. The number of people who baby trap are significantly lesser than people who accidentally get pregnant. Because your right only …

I have a theory that the present population is actually an anomaly in fact. Until the 50s we had no great health care, we had frequent wars, high fertility rate (a lot of families were at least 5 in number and almost as huge as 10, but mortality rate was high too. You never know who gets sick and dies, who goes to war and never come back etc. Thus we were growing sustainabily. But due to the advent of healthcare, little to no global wars, multiple peace treaties, better comforts, the mortality r…

Thank you! For saying this! And accepting that deep down, deep deep down somewhere there is a fault of your own. And trust me I am not trying to shit on you. I am actually appreciative/happy/proud that you are doing the analysis and coming out with solutions to problems you are facing. This world is not at all sustainable if everyone wants the same thing! Imagine if everyone wants to eat Avacados, or G wagon or yatchs or the same men/women; is this sustainable? If everyone wants the same thing (…

You are talking about sociopaths here and not men/humans in general. Any person with a normal amount of empathy is reasonable enough to understand that they have unfair advantages in some aspects over their peers/loved ones or society in general and will do more socialist activities to benefit people around them. Alot of activitists, freedom fighters, trailblazers etc are normal human beings. If you look very close to most billionaires or high achieving people, it's because they are extremists. …

What you mean to say was "alone". Alone and lonely are 2 different things. You could be in a room full of people closest to you thus not alone but still feel lonely if you don't have a great emotional connection with them. Edit: Alone is a physical state. Lonely is an emotional/mental state. But that doesn't mean it's an illness.

Pride is bad, but being proud doesn't have to be. Context matters. You being proud of your sister, best friend, or dad for achieving a challenge; would you consider your pride bad here? Imagine you find a really good hiking spot, fishing spot, or even a great restaurant, wouldn't you be really proud to invite/show your loved ones that spot that might bring that joy to them? The same applies to childbirth. Are you the parent who would invest time/resources to make it easier for the child or leave…

Bottom line, you bring a life into the world if you are proud of the world. Not a lot of reasonable people believe the world is a good place right now. Their reasons are justified. There's a lot of competition, lot more people with higher accumulated wealth/resources living very little for average people to live off of.

Actually disagree. Instead I don't like to date friends of friends. I tried it in college. It was a mess. If the friend hooks you up with someone close then you don't vibe or break off on bad terms, you lose a friend and a date both. Also you end up dating people with a similar mentality. I have realised this is not ideal for a successful relationship. You and your partner end up having the same thought process and no variety in the relationship.

Damn! One out of so many posts on here that actually made me think hard and kinda evaluate the premise. I don't agree with everything you said but definitely a lot of parts! Being vulnerable is vital in relationships, but there should also be a balance between vulnerable and inquisitive.

Lol. This is funny. I hope you meant it as a joke. But I can't take anything serious. Everything seems ambiguous and dramatic and no sciences or studies were referred to. Irrespective of age, you keep growing in life. Some people are very busy early on because they have so much to chase, family, house, work etc it's late in the life when they have a lot of figuring out they get some time for themselves to actually look inward. There are high chances that this actually happened. Also some people …

Thanks for the feedback! Ohh shoot somehow I missed the most important chemical around sex. Mood chemical. Serotonin directly related to sex. And during orgasm(masturbating) it's in a very high % compared to other chemicals. It plays a very vital role in alleviating your mood. Give you a happy feeling. Other ways to get it is again through exercise, sun, and meditation. Yes, I agree with your title. Body count is bad and people misunderstand why it's bad. You had different reasoning and I had mo…

I do understand that you can't force Person A to like Person B if they are not their type. But one has to be smart enough to realize when they are under bad influence. Present society runs on pushing capitalistic agenda. The advertisements show you have to have a Lambo, a mansion in LA, a penthouse in NYC, and a 3-month salary on a diamond ring to be happy, You have to buy new iPhones everywhere, if you are not driving G wagon you are not living at all. Damn dude. This is such an eye opener. I am a guy and had my share of relationships. Instances I had faced a situation where my no to sex meant I had to explain and validate the other person are more than a handful. But one I mean no one takes these instances seriously when I want to tell about them to my partner, best friends(men and women), etc. Only therapists. This shows how weird and prejudiced and opinionated the general crowd is.

I work in IT, I live in a university city, constantly travel between SF, Seattle, and Boston and I am in my late 20s. I guess these are part of the solution for me. But yeah, I completely understand how slow life can be in small towns, and thus hard to find new people to meet/date. What you said makes sense, starting a conversation with people outside is a no-no. There are only 3 times I approached a complete stranger, it's very difficult to make this a good experience. First things first, irrespective of sex and situation, a person needs to be compassionate and help out when the situation asks for it. That being said, you should also be able to access the situation and yourself before jumping in head first. Like if you don't know how to swim, don't jump in to save a drowning person. Help doesn't necessarily mean putting yourself in harms way, it can be a friendly support or even assistant from far like calling for police or buying a bunch of essentials like fi…

It's the same reason why some men are so successful with startups or businesses or cash or making friends. Every habit compounds. If you are someone who excuds confidence, chances are you will become more of this person as you age, unless something drastic happens. The same goes for how you talk, how you handle yourself or how you present yourself. I know how to slowly pry open a person and their desire towards you. Let's talk from biological pov. Most species out there have a competition between males to mate with a female. That's nature. Peacocks need to show their beauty to attract females of their species. The same goes for snakes. Have you heard about spiders, bees where the males get eaten after mating? Males are literally competing to die lol. Comodos & other lizards, Gorillas, and Hippos literally have full blown fights to be able to mate all while women are totally aware. Nature is logical. Women a…

I disagree. Surface level may appear so. And I do agree it happens but only in some cases. Generalization is wrong. Just like how there are good people and bad people. Just like people with different beliefs exists. There are some men who only care about their appearance. But there are also a lot of men who don't. Some men might look like they do, but they don't. A classic example for this is when men don't commit to marriage. As long as it's fun and games, these men might be all in and put up w…

Been there, done that. When I was in my mid teens, those were my thoughts exactly. I had crooked teeth, a weird haircut, no quality substance to talk about and not so appealing body language. I was from a small town and I didn't think there was any problem with me. Then I went to a big city for college! I made good friends. Biological component: Every time you have intercourse, you have a slight chance of conceiving and /or contracting STIs/STDs. Everytime! There is no contraception that's 100 % effective against unwanted pregnancies. There is no drug that can shield you from unknown viruses/diseases that your sexual partner might have. Some strands of HPV can pass on through saliva. Some STD take years to diagnose let alone cure. So once you are infected, you will spread it to how many ever you are sleeping with u…

I appreciate a low body count on any person irrespective of sex. Do you know how many STIs and STDs are out there? There are some who have long incubation periods and thus cannot be detected at all. And some STIs are so resistant to any treatment, they are in your body indefinitely. And I have seen lately that some people lie about it, this is a way bigger red flag than body count itself. Somehow it tells me you regret your own body count and that is an indication that you cannot hold on to your…

There are bad people everywhere. Irrespective of sexes. And as we all know, bad news spreads faster. Generally when you are happy you don't talk about it much, you just enjoy the moment. But it's the sadness that makes you reflect on all your actions. That's why a lot of therapists and meditation gurus push you to do self reflection irrespective of anything. Just going by the title, I have heard women saying "All men are pigs" more often than men saying "All women are the same".
