If you're looking for something more serious (LTR, kids, etc.), it's worth consideration early on, which is why OP was getting at with: "Because if you like someone, their family matters. IMO, you have a scarcity mentality if you choose to ignore that red flag early on, as there are plenty of women who do not have that issue. It's generally difficult (to impossible) for people who didn't grow up around a healthy relationship at home to maintain one themselves, especially when they're younger.
