I'm also a woman, and I've been lurking for a couple of months. I'm relatively sheltered, and first became aware of the whitewashing of female on male abuse when my boyfriend's gender sensitivity training completely neglected to discuss the matter. The best part is, he works at a facility that is 80% male, so statistically, he's much more likely to work with abused men than abused women.
